The purpose of this study is to know the acoustic characteristics of voice under stressful and relaxed conditions. Ten undergraduate male students participated in this study and produced 아, 에, 이 vowels in English reading, difficult Korean reading under stressful conditions, and easy Korean reading under relaxed conditions. After that, F0, jitter, shimmer, NHR, F1, F2, and F3 values were measured and analyzed. The results of this study demonstrate that speech parameters related to stress are jitter, shimmer, and NHR in that these values are lower under relaxed situations (easy Korean reading) than that of stressful situations (English and difficult Korean reading). This study will be a foundation to verify that the analysis of acoustic characteristics can serve as a quantitative tool for measuring stress levels.

The purpose of this study is to confirm the effect of digital co-teaching between teachers online on improving students' reading literacy. In order to achieve the purpose of the study, a pre-test was conducted on first-year high school students, and a post-test was conducted after conducting the co-teaching over two sessions. For statistical analysis, the data of 101 students with no missing values in pre- and post-tests were used. Through the OECD's PISA reading literacy evaluation framework and factor analysis, a reading literacy test tool consisting of expression, comprehension, and information literacy was developed and the degree of change in reading literacy was measured through a self-report with the tool. As a result of the analysis, it was confirmed that the digital co-teaching had a statistically significant positive effect on the expression, comprehension and information literacy of high school students. This study is meaningful in that it shows that digital co-teaching can be applied as a way to improve reading literacy in PISA organized by the OECD.

A visual stress may provoke migraine, cephalalgia, intervene a long term reading and learning capability and reduce the productivity of a laborer who uses computer for a good while. In this study, a web based screening tool for visual stress was developed, it applied to 72 visually normal young persons in parallel with traditional questionnaire about symptoms of visual stress. To estimate visual stress, It is proposed to measure difference of visual search time of Han Gul characters as targets between visual stressful pattern and non-visual stressful pattern as global background of characters. As a result of test, 5 subjects were screened whose mean visual search time in the stressful pattern with 6 CPD spatial frequency increase significantly more than in none stressful pattern(t-test, one-tailed, p=$1.0407\times10^{-11}$). 2 of them were diagnosed as mild visual stress syndrome in the clinic. None had visual distortion and 50% of subjects had visual discomfort in results of the questionnaire. Correlation between visual search time increase rate and normalized number of visual discomfort may be slight(C. coefficient=0.1355). This study may contribute as a basic research for screening person with migraine, visual reading disabilities and VDT syndrome. It is required to apply the test to visual reading disabilities, migraine with visual distortion and/or visual discomfort as well as normal person for higher reliability of the screening tool.

There is a growing concern in reducing greenhouse gas emissions all over the world. The U.K. has set 34% target reduction of emission before 2020 and 80% before 2050 compared to 1990 recently in Post Copenhagen Report on Climate Change. In practise, Life Cycle Cost (LCC) and Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) tools have been introduced to construction industry in order to achieve this such as. However, there is clear a disconnection between costs and environmental impacts over the life cycle of a built asset when using these two tools. Besides, the changes in Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) lead to a change in the way information is represented, in particular, information is being fed more easily and distributed more quickly to different stakeholders by the use of tool such as the Building Information Modelling (BIM), with little consideration on incorporating LCC and LCA and their maximised usage within the BIM environment. The aim of this paper is to propose the development of a model-based LCC and LCA tool in order to provide sustainable building design decisions for clients, architects and quantity surveyors, by then an optimal investment decision can be made by studying the trade-off between costs and environmental impacts. An application framework is also proposed finally as the future work that shows how the proposed model can be incorporated into the BIM environment in practise.

The purpose of this study is to research the concepts of reading ability and debate ability, and the components of both abilities and to make the performance assessment's standards to apply them to the classroom for reading debate in the school libraries. For doing this, I studied the necessity of reading debate, assessment, and the components of reading/debate abilities. The components of the reading and debate abilities were derived from the theoretical researches and the performance assessment's standards for the reading debate were proposed in the viewpoint of the teacher librarians and classroom teachers in the school libraries in order that the teacher librarians and teachers could apply them to the reading debate classes and assess the performance achievement of the students.

The ideas of user oriented service wasn't a major issue in libraries in the past decade. However, from now on, our library visitors have choices in the book selection processes, and the library may not be the first choice for their information demands. Competitors such as museum, culture center, and even private reading academy are those who anticipate user demands and satisfy them before the librarians do. What may have been perceived as excellent service a few years ago is not acceptable today anymore in the library. This study reveals current situation of English library collection and their practice as a sound English learning tool for Korean students. The researcher introduces library Marketing Concept and Reading Programs as an effective management tool.

"Reading Culture Promotion Act" was enacted in 2006. National policies for promoting reading culture such as "Reading Culture Promotion Basic Plan (2014-2018)" were established and are being implemented. However, due to the absence of the system which evaluates the performance of the reading culture promotion policies and programs, it is difficult to systematically implement reading programs. In consideration of this situation, this study purposed to evaluate the reading culture promotion programs. For this purpose, it developed the evaluation tool for reading promotion programs and evaluated it. On the basis of the evaluation results, the study identified the problem of the policies and programs and provided the strategies for improving them. In addition, it proposed the direction of the reading culture promotion policies for expanding the reading culture.

Great Books of the Western World(GBWW) is a series of books published in 1952 by Encyclopaedia Britannica to present the famous works in 54 volumes. The series is now in its second edition and contains 60 volumes. A syntopicon compiled by M. Adler is a two-volume index, published as volumes 2 and 3 of GBWW. The syntopicon was coined specifically for this undertaking, which means a collection of topics. Syntopicon lists, under each idea, is where every occurrence of the concept can be located in the collection's famous works. This study aims to analyze the structure and utility of topic index, syntopicon in GBWW. The syntopicon consists of 102 chapters on the 102 ideas. Each chapter is broken down into five distinct sections: the introduction, an outline of topics, references, cross-references, and additional readings. The syntopicon can serve as a reference book, as a selection tool of book to be read, instrument of liberal education, instrument of discovery and research, syntopical reading of other reading material, development tool of convergent education, and analysis tool of works.

Recently, there has been a tremendous increase in the availability of educational materials for foreign language learning. As part of this trend, there has been an increase in the amount of electronically mediated materials available. However, conventional educational contents developed using computer technology has provided typically one-way information, which is not the most helpful thing for users. Providing the user's convenience requires additional off-line analysis for diagnosing an individual user's learning. To improve the user's comprehension of texts written in a foreign language, we propose an intelligent learning tool based on the analysis of the user's eyeball movements, which is able to diagnose and improve foreign language reading ability by providing necessary supplementary aid just when it is needed. To determine the user's learning state, we correlate their eye movements with findings from research in cognitive psychology and neurophysiology. Based on this, the learning tool can distinguish whether users know or do not know words when they are reading foreign language sentences. If the learning tool judges a word to be unknown, it immediately provides the student with the meaning of the word by extracting it from an on-line dictionary. The proposed model provides a tool which empowers independent learning and makes access to the meanings of unknown words automatic. In this way, it can enhance a user's reading achievement as well as satisfaction with text comprehension in a foreign language.

A number of studies have emphasized the importance and values of reading in character education. However, there is no tool or framework for developing character education program. If teacher librarian to develop a character education program by reading should be preceded the framework for a comprehensive and systematic approach. The framework for character education program by reading is required to develop a program. The framework must be considered with a character factor and reading elements. The purpose of this study is to establish a framework that will help teacher librarian to develop a character education program by reading. This study analyzed on construction elements of character, reading material for character education, reading strategies, teaching methods. Then, this study propose a framework for developing character education program based on the analysis information. The proposed framework in this study consists of construction elements of character, reading material for character education, reading strategies, teaching methods.
