Sorbitan methacrylate was synthesized from sorbitan dehydrated from D-sorbitol using an immobilized lipase. To optimize the enzymatic synthesis of sorbitan methacrylate, response surface methodology was applied to determine the effects of five-level-four-factors and their reciprocal interactions on sorbitan methacrylate biosynthesis. A total of 30 individual experiments were performed, which were designed to study reaction temperature, reaction time, enzyme amount and substrate molar ratio. A statistical model predicted that the highest conversion yield of sorbitan methacrylate was 100%, at the following optimized reaction conditions: a reaction temperature of 43.06 $^{\circ}C$, a reaction time of 164.25 mins., an enzyme amount of 7.47%, and a substrate molar ratio of 3.98:1. Using these optimal factor values under experimental conditions in four independent replicates, the average conversion yield reached 98.7%${\pm}$1.2% and was well within the value predicted by the model.
To optimize the removal of free fatty acid in crude vegetable oil, response surface methodology was applied to determine the effects of five level-four factors and their reciprocal interactions on removal of free fatty acid. A total of 30 individual experiments were performed, which were designed to study reaction temperature, reaction time, catalyst amount and methanol amount. A statistical model predicted that the highest removal yield of free fatty acid was 99.8%, at the following optimized reaction conditions: a reaction temperature of 64.99$^{\circ}C$, a reaction time of 36.20 mins., an catalyst amount of 13.01% (w/v), and a methanol amount of 15% (v/v). Using these optimal factor values under experimental conditions in three independent replicates, the average removal yield was well within the value predicted by the model.
Naphthalene hydrogenation reaction was performed as a model reaction for coal liquefaction. Product distributions of tetralin and decalin are sensitive to reaction temperature and hydrogen pressure. At 380$^{\circ}C$, hydrogenation reaction using sulfided pellet catalysts gives poor reproducibility and several experimental methods are tried to examine its cause. It was inferred that H$_2$S had, most possibly, a great effect on this phenomena and the effect of H$_2$S was systematically investigated at 250$^{\circ}C$. It is possible that the intermediate hydroaromatic compound (tetralin) is maximized by changing the partial pressure of H$_2$S. It was identified that the partial pressure of H$_2$S could be another important factor in addition to the reaction time and temperature in coal liquefaction using sulfided catalysts.
The purpose of this study was to examine the mother's perception on the concrete pattern of such behavior problems as noncompliance, jealousy, dependency, hyperactivity and stealing, by analyzing the difference between two cases of her own child and another mother's child relating to her attribution to the behavior problem of the child and the relationship between her attribution and behavioral reaction. This study was carried out by using 515 questionnaires answered by 1000 mothers of children of 7 kindergartens in Ulsan and Taegu, using Melissa Sweitzer's method (1986). The data was subjected to t-test, Pearson's correlation coefficient. T-test was applied to test the difference between two cases of her own child and another mother's child relating to her attribution to the behavior problem of the child and Person's correlation coefficient was estimated to test the relationship between her attribution and behavioral reaction. The result of this study is sumarized as follows : 1. It was shown that the mother's attribution to the behavior problem of the child is less serious when her child showed the behavior problem than when another child dose the problem while her attribution has an affective reaction to the behavior problem of the child. 2. The relationship between the mother's attribution and behavior reaction to the behavior problem of the child appeared variously in accordance with the attribution factor and behavior problem. Then the mother showed more attribution to stability while frequently ignoring the child.
Carbon layers were fabricated on silicon carbide by chlorination reaction at temperatures between $1000^{\circ}C$ and $1500^{\circ}C$ with $Cl_2/H_2$ gas mixtures. The effect of reaction temperature on the micro-structures and tribological behavior of SiC derived carbon layer was investigated. Tribological tests were carried out ball-on-disk type wear tester. Carbon layers were characterized by X-ray diffractometer, Raman spectroscopy and surface profilometer. Both friction coefficients and wear rates were maintained low values at reaction temperature up to $1300^{\circ}C$ but increased suddenly above this temperature. Variation of surface roughness as a function of reaction temperature was dominant factor affecting tribological transition behavior of carbon layer derived from silicon carbide at high temperature.
The purpose of this study is to clarify the influence of the reaction temperature and $AlCl_3$ content on the aluminide coating formation on Ni-based superalloy IN713C in CVD process and to compare its throwing power with that of Pack Cementation process. Aluminide coating was formed by CVD in hot-wall stainless tube reactor from an $AlCl_3-H_2$ mixture in the temperature range $850{\sim}1050^{\circ}C$. At reaction temperature $850^{\circ}C$, the coating thickness and the content of aluminium at the surface were increased as $AlCl_3$ heating temperature was raised. At reaction temperature $1050^{\circ}C$, they were not influenced by the variation of $AlCl_3$ heating temperature. When $AlCl_3$ heating temperature was fixed $125^{\circ}C$, the phases of the coatings were varied from $Ni_2Al_3$ to Al-rich NiAl and to Ni-rich NiAl with the reaction temperature. Therefore, in this study the reaction temperature has been found to be a major factor in determining the phase formed in CVD process. The throwing power of CVD was superior to that of Pack Cementation.
This study is mainly focused on micellar effect of cetyltrimethyl ammonium bromide(CTABr) solution including alkylbenzimidazole(R-BI) on dephosphorylation of isopropyl-4-nitrophenylphosphinate(IPNPIN) in carbonate buffer(pH 10.7). The reactions of IPNPIN with R-$BI^{\ominus}$ are strongly catalyzed by the micelles of CTABr. Dephosphorylation of IPNPIN is accelerated by $BI^{\ominus}$ ion in $10^{-2}$ M carbonate buffer(pH 10.7) of $4{\times}10^{-3}$ M CTABr solution up to 89 times as compared with the reaction in carbonate buffer by no benzimidazole(BI) solution of $4{\times}10^{-3}$ M CTABr. The value of pseudo first order rate constant($k_{\Psi}$) of the reaction in CTABr solution reached a maximum rate constant increasing micelle concentration. Such rate maxima are typical of micellar catalyzed bimolecular reactions. The reaction mediated by R-$BI^{\ominus}$ in micellar solutions are obviously slower than those by $BI^{\ominus}$, and the reaction rate were decreased with increase of lengths of alkyl groups. It seems due to steric effect of alkyl groups of R-$BI^{\ominus}$ in Stern layer of micellar solution. The surfactant reagent, CTABr, strongly catalyzes the reaction of IPNPIN with R-BI and its anion(R-$BI^{\ominus}$) in carbonate buffer(pH 10.7). For example, $4{\times}10^{-3}$ M CTABr in $1{\times}10^{-4}$ M BI solution increase the rate constant($k_{\Psi}=98.5{\times}10^{-3}\;sec^{-1}$) of the dephosphorylation by a factor ca.25, when compared with reaction($k_{\Psi}=3.9{\times}10^{-4}\;sec^{-1}$) in $1{\times}10^{-4}$ M BI solution(without CTABr). And no CTABr solution, in $1{\times}10^{-4}$ M BI solution increase the rate constant($k_{\Psi}=3.9{\times}10^{-4}\;sec^{-1}$) of the dephosphorylation by a factor ca.39, when compared with reaction ($k_{\Psi}=1.0{\times}10^{-5}\;sec^{-1}$) in water solution(without BI). This predicts that the reactivities of R-$BI^{\ominus}$ in the micellar pseudophase are much smaller than that of $BI^{\ominus}$. Due to the hydrophobicity and steric effect of alkyl group substituents, these groups would penetrate into the core of the micelle for stabilization by van der Waals interaction with long alkyl groups of CTABr.
In the browning reaction of Korean ginseng, it appears that enzymatic and non-enzymatic browning reaction occurred In initial stage of steaming fresh ginseng at low temperature, and then non-enzymatic browning reaction followed in the drying period after steaming. Browning reaction of red ginseng occurred between $60{\sim}90$ min of steaming at $100^{\circ}C$, and browning pigments of red ginseng were mostly water soluble substances. The structural characteristics of water soluble browning reaction products(WS-BRPs) isolated from Korean red ginseng were showed the presence of hydroxyl, amide carbonyl and aliphatic methane groups. From sugar analysis it was identified that L and S-1, melanoidins isolated from red ginseng, contained two kinds of sugars, glucose and xylose, and the other melanoidin S-2 contained the previous and fructose. In order to find out pertinent methods for the acceleration of browning during ginseng processing, various treatment were made on fresh ginseng with sugars, amino acids and inorganic nitrogenous compounds and the extent of browning was measured. Among sugar tested, maltose resulted in the greatest acceleration of browning followed in decreasing order by glucose and lactose, whereas pentoses, fructose, sucrose and raffinose had negligible effect. A marked browning occurred in ginseng treated with basic amino acids, while the extent of browning was not greatly increased when ginseng was treated with aliphatic amino acids, hydroxyl amino acids, or acidic amino acids. The brown color intensity gradually increased with an increase of glucose concentration far up to 0.5M. L, S-1, and S-2 were found to have an ability to donate hydrogen to DPPH, and also they had anti-oxidative activity in the experiments of hydrogen peroxide scavenging, inhibitory activity in the formation of MDA from linoleic acid, auto oxidation of ok-brain homogenates, lipid peroxidation by the enzymatic and non-enzymatic system in liver microsome fraction, and mitochondrial fraction etc. The amounts of acidic polysaccharide(AP) in red ginseng were higher than those of wild and cultured Panax quinquefolius, Panax notoginseng as well as white ginseng (Panax ginseng). In white ginseng, the AP amount is no difference in root ages or sizes, also, the AP amount of ginseng body was similar to that of rhizome, but was higher than that of leaf and epidermis. Addition of red ginseng acidic polysaccharide(RGAP) increased production of nitric oxide(NO) and tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-$\alpha$ in the rodent macrophage cultures, and treatment of RGAP in vivo stimulated tumoricidal activities of natural killer (NK) cells.
This study is mainly focused on micellar effect of cetylpyridinium chloride(CPyCl) solution including alkylbenzimidazole(R-BI) on dephosphorylation of diphenyl-4-nitrophenylphosphinate(DPNPIN) in carbonate buffer(pH 10.7). The reactions of DPNPIN with R-BI$^{\ominus}$ are strongly catalyzed by the micelles of CPyCl. Dephosphorylation of DPNPIN is accelerated by BI$^{\ominus}$ ion in $10^{-2}M$ carbonate buffer(pH 10.7) of $4{\times}10^{-3}M$ CPyCl solution up to 100 times as compared with the reaction in carbonate buffer by no BI solution of $4{\times}10^{-3}M$ CPyCl. The value of pseudo first order rate constant($k^m_{BI}$) of the reaction in CPyCl solution reached a maximum rate constant increasing micelle concentration. Such rate maxima are typical of micellar catalyzed bimolecular reactions. The reaction mediated by R-BI$^{\ominus}$ in micellar solutions are obviously slower than those by BI$^{\ominus}$, and the reaction rate were decreased with increase of lengths of alkyl groups. It seems due to steric effect of alkyl groups of R-BI$^{\ominus}$ in Stern layer of micellar solution. The surfactant reagent, cetylpyridinium chloride(CPyCl), strongly catalyzes the reaction of diphenyl-4-nitrophenylphosphinate(DPNPIN) with alkylbenzimidazole (R-BI) and its anion(R-BI$^{\ominus}$) in carbonate buffer(pH 10.7). For example, $4{\times}10^{-3}M$ CPyCl in $1{\times}10^{-4}M$ BI solution increase the rate constant ($k_{\Psi}=1.0{\times}10^{-2}sec^{-1}$) of the dephosphorylation by a factor ca.14, when compared with reaction ($k_{\Psi}=7.3{\times}10^{-4}sec^{-1}$) in $1{\times}10^{-4}M$ BI solution(without CPyCl). And no CPyCl solution, in $1{\times}10^{-4}M$ BI solution increase the rate constant ($k_{\Psi}=7.3{\times}10^{-4}sec^{-1}$) of the dephosphorylation by a factor ca.36, when compared with reaction ($k_{\Psi}=2.0{\times}10^{-5}sec^{-1}$) in water solution(without BI). This predicts that the reactivities of R-BI$^{\ominus}$ in the micellar pseudophase are much smaller than that of BI$^{\ominus}$. Due to the hydrophobicity and steric effect of alkyl group substituents, these groups would penetrate into the core of the micelle for stabilization by van der Waals interaction with long alkyl groups of CPyCl.
Quasi-classical trajectory (QCT) calculations of H+HLi reaction have been carried out on a new potential energy surface of the ground state reported by Prudente et al. [Chem. Phys. Lett. 2009, 474, 18]. The four polarization-dependent differential cross sections have been carried out in the center of mass (CM) frame at various collision energies. The reaction probability for the depletion channel has been studied over a wide collision energy range. It has been found that the collision energy decreases remarkably reaction probability, which shows the expected behavior of the title reaction belonging to an exothermic barrierless reaction. The results are in good agreement with previous RMP results. The P(${\theta}_r$), P(${\phi}_r$) and P(${\theta}_r,\;{\phi}_r$) distributions, the k-k'-j' correlation and the angular distribution of product rotational vectors are presented in the form of polar plots. The average rotational alignment factor <$P_2(j{\prime}{\cdot}k)$> as a function of collision energy is also calculated. The results indicate that the collision energy has a great influence on the polarization of the product rotational angular momentum vector j'.
