Two Crystal Structures of Dehydrated Fully $Ca^{2+}$-Exchanged Zeolte A Reacting with Rubidium Vapor

  • Two single crystals of fully dehydrated $Rb^+$ -exchanged zeolite A have been prepared by the reduction of all $Ca^{2+}$ ions in dehydrated $Ca_6$-A by rubidium vapor. Their structures were determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction methods in the cubic space group Pm3m (a=12.160(2) $^{\AA}$ and 12.166(2) $^{\AA}$) at 22(1)$^{\circ}$C. In these structures, 12.4(2) to 13.3(2) Rb species are found per unit cell, more than 12 Rb$^+$ ions needed to balance the anionic charge of the zeolite framework, indicating that the sorption $Rb^0$ has occurred. In each structure, three $Rb^+$ ions per unit cell are located at the centers of the 8-rings. Six to eight $Rb^+$ ions are found opposite the 6-rings on threefold axes, and three $Rb^+$ ions are found in a sodalite unit. About 0.5 $Rb^+$ ion lies opposite a 4-ring. The structural analysis indicates the presence of a triangular rubidium cluster in the sodalite cavities. The triangular rubidium clusters may be stabilized by the coordination to two and/or three rubidium ions in the large cavity. Therefore, this cluster may be viewed as $(Rb_5)^{4+}$ and/or $(Rb_6)^{4+}$.

RB 복소수 필터를 이용한 적응 결정귀환 등화기 구조 및 칩셋 설계 (An Adaptive Decision-Feedback Equalizer Architecture using RB Complex-Number Filter and chip-set design)

  • 디지털 통신 시스템의 기저대역 신호처리를 효율적으로 구현하기 위한 새로운 복소수 필터구조를 제안하고, 이를 적용하여 채널등화용 적응 결정귀환 등화기 (Adaptive Decision-Feedback Equalizer; ADFE) 칩셋을 설계하였다. 새로운 복소수 필터구조는 기존의 2의 보수 대신에 redundant binary (RB) 수치계를 적용한 효율적인 복소수 승산 및 누적연산을 바탕으로 한다. 제안된 방법을 적용하면, N-탭 복소수 필터는 2N개의 RB 승산기와 2N-2개의 RB 가산기로 구현되며, 필터 탭 당 Tm,RB+Ta,RB (단, Tm,RB, Ta,RB는 각각 RB 승산기 및 가산기의 지해 고속동작이 가능하다. 제안된 방법을 적용하여 설계된 ADFE는 FFEM (Feed-Foreward Equalizer Module)과 DFEM (Decision-Feedback Equalizer Module)로 구성되며, 필요에 따라 필터 탭을 확장할 수 있도록 설계되었다. 2-탭 복소수 필터, LMS 계수갱신 회로 및 부가회로 등으로 구성되는 각 모듈은 COSSAP과 VHDL을 이용한 모델링 및 검증과정을 거쳐 0.8-㎛ SOG (Sea-Of-Gate) 셀 라이브러리를 사용하여 논리합성 되었으며, 26,000여개의 게이트로 구성된다.

27Al and 87Rb Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Study of the Relaxation Mechanisms of RbAl(CrO4)2·2H2O Single Crystals

  • The spin-lattice relaxation times, $T_1$, and spin-spin relaxation times, $T_2$, of the $^{27}Al$ and $^{87}Rb$ nuclei in $RbAl(CrO_4)_2{\cdot}2H_2O$ crystals were investigated. The presence of only one resonance line for the $^{27}Al$ nuclei indicates that the results in a dynamical averaging of the crystal electric field that produces a cubic symmetry field. The changes in the temperature dependence of $T_1$ are related to variations in the symmetry of the octahedra of water molecules surrounding $Al^+$ and $Rb^+$. The $T_1$ values for the $^{27}Al$ and $^{87}Rb$ nuclei are different due to differences in the local environments of these ions. We also compared these $^{27}Al$ and $^{87}Rb$ NMR results with those obtained for $RbAl(CrO_4)_2{\cdot}2H_2O$ crystals. The relaxation mechanisms of $RbAl(XO_4)_2{\cdot}nH_2O$ (X=Cr and S) crystals are characterized by completely different NMR behaviors.

  • X-선 단결정법으로 탈수한 $Ag_{9}Rb_{3}-A$ (a = 12.278(2)${\AA}$) 와 $Ag_{10}Rb_{2}-A$ (a = 12.286(2)${\AA}$)의 구조를 입방공간군 Pm3m을 써서 해석하였다. $Ag_{9}Rb_{3}-A$의 구조는 I >3${\sigma}$(I)인 회절반점 291개를 이용하여 $R_1$ = 0.064, $R_2$ = 0.060까지 정밀화 시켰으며 $Ag_{10}Rb_{2}-A$의 구조는 416개의 회절반점을 이용하여 $R_1$ = 0.063, $R_2$ = 0.080까지 정밀화 시켰다. 두 구조 모두 단위세포당 하나의 환원된 은 원자가 소다라이트 동공 내에 있으며 이 환원된 은 원자는 소다라이트 동공 1/6개 마다 $Ag_6$로 존재하든가 혹은 모든 소다라이트 동공마다 4mm 대칭성을 가지는 $(Ag_5)^{4+}$ 클러스터로 존재한다. 그 밖에 탈수한 $Ag_{9}Rb_{3}-A$에서는 8개의 $Ag^+$이온은 6-링 중심 3회 회전축 상에 있으며 3개의 $Rb^+$이온은 8-링 중심 $D_{4h}$ 대칭성을 가지고서 위치하고 있다. 또 탈수한 $Ag_{10}Rb_{2}-A$구조에서는 2개의 다른 6-링 $Ag^+$ 이온 즉 7개의 $Ag^+$ 이온은 6-링 평면상에 위치하고 1개의 $Ag^+$이온은 소다라이트 동공 내에 위치한다. 두 개의 서로 다른 8-링 양이온이 있으며 두 개의 $Rb^+$이온은 8-링 중심에 위치하였고 1개의 $Ag^+$이온은 8-링에서 0.1$\AA$ 만큼 큰 동공 쪽으로 이동하여 위치한다. 두 구조에서 보면 $Ag^+$이온은 6-링 위치에 $Rb^+$ 이온은 8-링 위치에 우선적으로 위치한다.

단백질과 트란스글루타미나제 첨가 글루텐 프리 쌀빵의 품질에 대한 친수콜로이드의 효과 (Effects of Hydrocolloids on the Quality of Protein and Transglutaminase Added Gluten-free Rice Bread)

  • Purpose: To improve the quality of basic gluten-free rice bread composed of white rice flour, salt, sugar, yeast, skim milk powder, olive oil, and water, the effects of transglutaminase (TGase), whey protein (WP), propylene glycol alginate (PGA), and hydroxypropylmethylcelluose (HPMC) were investigated. Methods: TGase, WP, PGA, and HPMC were added to rice flour cumulatively. The pasting properties of rice flour blends as well as volume, shape, color value, textural properties and sensory evaluation of basic rice bread (RB1) RB1+TGase (RB2), RB1+TGase+WP (RB3), RB1+TGase+WP+PGA (RB4), and RB1+TGase+WP+PGA+HPMC (RB5) were compared. Results: Consistency of rice batter increased upon addition of TGase, WP and PGA, and RB3 and RB4 had higher specific volumes than others. PGA improved volume, crumb air cell uniformity, and resilience but lowered elasticity and moistness of RB. HPMC increased, hardness, moistness and softness, and slightly reduced volume. Conclusion: Therefore, it is suggested that hydrocolloids, PGA and HPMC may be necessary to improve volume, crumb structure, textural properties and overall eating quality of gluten-free rice bread.

Synthesis, Crystal Structure, and Magnetic Properties of $RbV_2SeO_7$ as Compared with $KV_2SeO_7$

  • Crystalline compound RbV2SeO7, a Rb analogue of KV2SeO7, was synthesized from a hydrothermal reaction of V2O5, V2O3, SeO2, and Rb2CO3 in the mole ratio 3: 1: 15: 6 (in millimoles) at 230℃. RbV2SeO7 crystallizes in an orthorhombic space group Pnma (No. 62) with a=18.444(8), b=5.415(3), c=7.070(4) Å, Z=8. The two structures of KV2SeO7 and RbV2SeO7 are almost the same except that bond lengths in the latter are slightly longer than in the former. The magnetic susceptibility measurement for RbV2SeO7 in the temperature range 4-300 K showed an antiferromagnetic ordering with TN=45 K, higher than that for KV2SeO7 of 27 K. The origin of the magnetic coupling and the different ordering temperatures in the two phases are discussed in relation to the crystal structures.

Three Crystal Structures of Dehydrated $Cd^{2+}$ and $Rb^+$ Exchanged Zeolite A, $Cd_xRb_{12-2x}-A,$ x=4.0, 5.0 and 5.95

  • Three crystal structures of dehydrated Cd(II) and Rb(I) exchanged zeolite A, $Cd_{4.0}Rb_{4.0}-A (a = 12.204(3) {\AA}), Cd_{5.0}Rb_{2.0}-A (a = 12.202(1) {\AA}),$ and $Cd_{5.95}Rb_{0.1}-A (a = 12.250(2) {\AA}),$ have been determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction techniques. Their structures were solved and refined in the cubic space group Pm3m at $21(1)^{\circ}C.$ All crystals were ion exchanged in flowing streams of mixed $Cd(NO_3)_2·4H_2O$ and $RbNO_3$ aqueous solution with total concentration of 0.05 M. All crystals were dehydrated at ca. $450^{\circ}C$ and $2×10^{-6}$ Torr for 2 days. In all of these structures, $Cd^{2+}$ ions are found on threefold axes, each nearly at the center of a 6-oxygen ring. The first three $Rb^+$ ions per unit cell preferentially associate with 8-oxygen rings, and additional $Rb^+$ ions, if present, are found on threefold axes in the large cavity. The final $R_1$ and $R_2$ values for the three structures are 0.087 and 0.079, 0.059 and 0.067, and 0.079 and 0.095, respectively.

반응성 염료(RB-8, RB-49, RR-218)의 결정화 및 입도분포 특성 (Reactive Dye(RB-8, RB-49, RR-218) in Crystallization and Characteristic of Population Density)

  • 염석결정화 방법으로 염료용액으로 부터 염료를 결정화하였다. 이번 연구에서 반응성 염료(RB-8, RB-49, RR-218)의 모액의 용해도와 결정화 속도를 연구하였다. 그 결과 연속식 결정화기에서 반응성 염료(RB-8, RB-49, RR-218)에 대한 결정화 속도식 RB-8에서 결정성장 속도 $G=7.1{\times}10^{-4}{\Delta}C^{0.67}$와 핵생성 속도 $B^0=3.1{\times}10^{15}{\Delta}C[1.2{\times}10^{-8}+{\Delta}C^{0.7}M_T{^2}]$이고 RB-49는 결정성장 속도 $G=5.2{\times}10^{-4}C^{0.3441}$와 핵생성 속도 $B^0=7.2{\times}10^{15}{\Delta}C[3.3{\times}10^{-8}+({\Delta}C)^{0.7}M_T{^2}]$, RR-218의 결정성장 속도 $G=4.4{\times}10^{-4}C^{0.2361}$와 핵생성 속도 $B^0=6.3{\times}10^{15}{\Delta}C[7.9{\times}10^{-8}+({\Delta}C)^{0.7}M_T{^2}]$의 실험식으로 표현할 수 있다. 또한 특성 곡선 법을 적용하여 입도분포를 계산한 결과 실험식과 일치하는 결과를 확인할 수 있었다.

Ginsenoside Rb2 suppresses cellular senescence of human dermal fibroblasts by inducing autophagy

  • Background: Ginsenoside Rb2, a major active component of Panax ginseng, has various physiological activities, including anticancer and anti-inflammatory effects. However, the mechanisms underlying the rejuvenation effect of Rb2 in human skin cells have not been elucidated. Methods: We performed a senescence-associated β-galactosidase staining assay to confirm cellular senescence in human dermal fibroblasts (HDFs). The regulatory effects of Rb2 on autophagy were evaluated by analyzing the expression of autophagy marker proteins, such as microtubule-associated protein 1A/1B-light chain (LC) 3 and p62, using immunoblotting. Autophagosome and autolysosome formation was monitored using transmission electron microscopy. Autophagic flux was analyzed using tandem-labeled GFP-RFP-LC3, and lysosomal function was assessed with Lysotracker. We performed RNA sequencing to identify potential target genes related to HDF rejuvenation mediated by Rb2. To verify the functions of the target genes, we silenced them using shRNAs. Results: Rb2 decreased β-galactosidase activity and altered the expression of cell cycle regulatory proteins in senescent HDFs. Rb2 markedly induced the conversion of LC3-I to LC3-II and LC3 puncta. Moreover, Rb2 increased lysosomal function and red puncta in tandem-labeled GFP-RFP-LC3, which indicate that Rb2 promoted autophagic flux. RNA sequencing data showed that the expression of DNA damage-regulated autophagy modulator 2 (DRAM2) was induced by Rb2. In autophagy signaling, Rb2 activated the AMPK-ULK1 pathway and inactivated mTOR. DRAM2 knockdown inhibited autophagy and Rb2-restored cellular senescence. Conclusion: Rb2 reverses cellular senescence by activating autophagy via the AMPK-mTOR pathway and induction of DRAM2, suggesting that Rb2 might have potential value as an antiaging agent.

Ginsenoside Rb2 suppresses the glutamate-mediated oxidative stress and neuronal cell death in HT22 cells

  • Background: The objective of our study was to analyze the neuroprotective effects of ginsenoside derivatives Rb1, Rb2, Rc, Rd, Rg1, and Rg3 against glutamate-mediated neurotoxicity in HT22 hippocampal mouse neuron cells. Methods: The neuroprotective effect of ginsenosides were evaluated by measuring cell viability. Protein expressions of mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK), Bcl2, Bax, and apoptosis-inducing factor (AIF) were determined by Western blot analysis. The occurrence of apoptotic and death cells was determined by flow cytometry. Cellular level of $Ca^{2+}$ and reactive oxygen species (ROS) levels were evaluated by image analysis using the fluorescent probes Fluor-3 and 2',7'-dichlorodihydrofluorescein diacetate, respectively. In vivo efficacy of neuroprotection was evaluated using the Mongolian gerbil of ischemic brain injury model. Result: Reduction of cell viability by glutamate (5 mM) was significantly suppressed by treatment with ginsenoside Rb2. Phosphorylation of MAPKs, Bax, and nuclear AIF was gradually increased by treatment with 5 mM of glutamate and decreased by co-treatment with Rb2. The occurrence of apoptotic cells was decreased by treatment with Rb2 ($25.7{\mu}M$). Cellular $Ca^{2+}$ and ROS levels were decreased in the presence of Rb2, and in vivo data indicated that Rb2 treatment (10 mg/kg) significantly diminished the number of degenerated neurons. Conclusion: Our results suggest that Rb2 possesses neuroprotective properties that suppress glutamate-induced neurotoxicity. The molecular mechanism of Rb2 is by suppressing the MAPKs activity and AIF translocation.
