An experimental and computational study of the pressure fluctuation induced by a propeller on a hull surface was carried out with three ship models and seven model propellers. The fluctuation of pressure on a flat plate was measured at KRISO cavitation tunnel and calculated by a panel and lifting surface method(XForShip code). To extend the measurement data on the flat plate into that on complex hull forms, the correction factor was determined as a ratio of the solid boundary factor(SBF). The computation of pressure fluctuation around complex hull forms was also performed to make the full scale prediction and compared with the corrected experimental data. The calculated values agreed well with the compensated experimental data and it was found that the correction factor was about 0.65-0.7.

Both ratio error and phase angle error in voltage transformer(VT) depend on values of burden of VT used. A method of evaluation for linearity of ratio error and phase angle error in VT measurement equipment have been developed using the standard resistance burdens, with negligible AC-DC resistance difference less than $10^-6$. These burden consists of five standard resistors, with nominal resistance of 100 $\Omega$, 1 k$\Omega$, 10 k$\Omega$, 100 k$\Omega$, and 1 M$\Omega$. The developed method has been applied in VT measurement equipment of industry and the validity of the developed method has been verified by showing the consistency of the result of linearity obtained using VT with wide ratio error.

A potential transformer(PT) has ratio error and phase angle error. Precise measurement of the errors of PT can be achieved using high voltage capacitance bridge, high voltage capacitor and low voltage capacitor. The uncertainty for this method is evaluated and found to be $20{\times}10^{-6}$ in both ratio error and phase angle error. The values measured for PT using the method are well consistent with the those measured for same PT in NMIA(National Measurement Institute of Australia) within the corresponding uncertainty.
In this article, a four-variable refined plate theory is presented for buckling analysis of functionally graded plates subjected to uniform, linear and non-linear temperature rises across the thickness direction. The theory accounts for parabolic distribution of the transverse shear strains, and satisfies the zero traction boundary conditions on the surfaces of the plate without using shear correction factor. Young's modulus and Poisson ratio of the FGM plates are assumed to remain constant throughout the entire plate. However, the coefficient of thermal expansion of the FGM plate varies according to a power law form through the thickness coordinate. Equilibrium and stability equations are derived based on the present theory. The influences of many plate parameters on buckling temperature difference such ratio of thermal expansion, aspect ratio, side-to-thickness ratio and gradient index will be investigated.

This study is to develop equations that consider the elastic modulus ratio of FRP bar and steel reinforcement, shear span to depth ratio, and flexural reinforcement ratio of FRP bar, to determine concrete shear strength of FRP reinforced concrete beams without shear reinforcement. As experimental parameters, 2 types of FRP bar, 3 types of shear span to depth ratio, and 3 types of flexural reinforcement were used. Experimental results for two of shear span to depth ratio were quoted from previous study to evaluate effect of shear span to depth ratio in more detail. Shear strength correction factors needed for evaluating concrete shear strength were proposed from regression analysis using above experimental results. Equations suggested from this study and other codes were examined and compared with 31 experimental results available in the literature. From this comparison, it could be known that the equation suggested from this study gives the most approaching result to experimental results.

This paper presents the preliminary results of an experimental study on surface crack growth under fatigue loadings. The objective of this paper is to assess the effect of the initial crack size on crack propagation behaviors. Transparent PMMA plate speciments with shallow circular arc notch were used. Crack growth behaviors were observed and measured in two directions by travelling microscopes. The fatigue crack initiated at the deepest part on the initial arc shaped notch and then propagated to depth direction as well as spreading gradually along the notch tip. A considerable number of cycles was needed until the depth crack spreaded to the surface notch tip. When the fatigue crack reached the surface notch tip the crack front became an approximate semi-ellipse, primary semi-elliptical crack. Test results suggest that the relationships between fatigue crack growth rate and stress intensity factor range in both directions can be expressed by power law (Paris) and that relationship in width direction depends upon the crack ratios a$_{1}$/b$_{1}$, of the primary semi-elliptical crack. The relationship between the nondimensional crack lengths in both directions can be represented as the formula: (a/t)$^{n}$ =B(2b/W+A) where n and A are constants and B is seems to be depended upon the crack ratio a$_{1}$/b$_{1}$.

In this study, analyzed the effective width of concrete unfilled composite steel grid deck which has different shear connector details from that of composite bridge. The effective width of concrete unfilled composite steel grid deck according to effective width calculation method, load size and main bearing bar spacing-span ratio was evaluated. As a result of analysis, it is analyzed that the effective width is calculated to be nearly equal to the actual effective width by idealizing the stress shape as a trapezoidal shape. In addition, shear hole penetration reinforcing bars applied to increase the shear strength is shown to increase the effective width. From the results of the analysis of the effective width according to main bearing bar spacing-span ratio, proposes the correction factor that can calculate the effective width ratio of the unfilled steel composite steel grid deck.

Response modification factors of school facilities for non-seismic RC moment frames with partial masonry infills in 'Manual for Seismic Performance Evaluation and Retrofit of School Facilities' published in 2018 were investigated in the preceding study. However, since previous studies are based on 2D frame analysis and limited analysis conditions, additional verification needs to be performed to further apply various conditions including orthogonal effect of seismic load. Therefore, this study is to select appropriate response modification factors of school facilities for non-seismic RC moment frames with partial masonry infills by 3D frame analysis. The results are as follows. An appropriate response modification factor for non-seismic RC moment frames with partial masonry infills is proposed as 2.5 for all cases if the period is longer than 0.6 seconds. Also if the period is less than 0.4 seconds and the ratio of shear-controlled columns is less than 30%, 2.5 is chosen too. However, if the period is less than 0.4 seconds and the ratio of shear-controlled columns is higher than 30%, the response modification factor shall be reduced to 2.0. If the period is between 0.4 and 0.6 seconds, then linearly interpolates the response correction factor.
In this paper the multiple three rectifiers for the power factor correction are proposed, analyzed and designed. The multiple three phase rectifiers draw sinusoidal ac currents from the ac voltage sources with nearly unity input power factor and operate with PWM making the control circuit simple and system cost low. Outstandingly it reduces the rated power capacity of devices and the input filter size by reducing input current ripples. Moreover design rules can be obtained from input and output current equations. With the proposed rules, input power factor and output power capacity are determined approximately. Finally these design rules are verified with computer simulations.

This paper presents a novel high-power-factor circuit topology of AC to AC current-fed type high frequency resonant inverter which includes the function of power factor correction(PFC) in the proposed inverter to operate the AC input block with high power factor. The proposed circuit topology of AC to AC current fed type high resonant inverter removes DC link electrolytic capacitor and has also the one of power factor correction(PFC) in the inverter circuit without an additional PFC circuit since the input current by constituting it in parallel as an unit inverter, which assumes the class-E high frequency resonant inverter of conventional current-fed type, flows in the form of the resultant current flowing through each constant current reactor($L_{d1}$, $L_{d2}$). The circuit analysis of proposed inverter is generally described by adopting the normalized parameters and the evaluation of its operating characteristics are conducted by using the parameters such as the ratio of switching and resonant frequency(${\mu}$), coupling coefficient(k) and so on. An example of procedure for circuit design based on the characteristic values obtained from the theoretical analysis is presented. To confirm the validity of the theoretical analysis, the experimental results are also presented. In the future, the proposed inverter shows it can be practically used as power supply system for induction heating application, DC-DC converter etc.
