액아배양에 의한 희귀 수종 미선나무의 기내번식 (Micropropagation of a Rare Species, Abeliophyllum distichum Nakai. via axillary bud culture)

  • 미선나무의 기내번식을 위하여 MS배지에 세 가지 싸이토키닌 (zeatin, kinetin 및 BA)을 세 가지 농도로 처리하여 액아 배양을 실시하였다. 줄기유도는 BA가 가장 효과적이었고, 생장은 zeatin이 좋았다. Kinetin은 2.0 및 5.0 mg/L 처리에서 줄기발생 효과가 있었으나 그 효과는 zeatin, BA에 비해 저조했다. 500 lux정도의 약광 하에서 배양은 싸이토키닌 처리에 관계없이 줄기의 생장을 촉진하였다. 발근은 IBA가 첨가된 1/2 GD배지에서 주효했다. 발근된 개체는 인공배양토에서 100% 활착되었고, 정상 생장이 가능했다. 이상의 결과에서 미선나무의 기내 번식이 가능함을 보여 주었다.

경주국립공원 구미산 지구에 분포하는 관속식물상 (Flora Distributed in Mt. Gumi District, Gyeongju National Park)

  • The purpose of this study is to offer the flora data for conserving the biodiversity of Gyeongju National Park by objective surveying and analysing the flora distributed in Mt. Gumi District, Gyeongju National Park, South Korea. The flora of Mt. Gumi were surmmarized as 476 taxa including 97 families, 297 genera, 419 species, 3 subspecies, 46 varieties and 8 forms. The rare plants were 6 taxa such as Aristolochia contorta, Paeonia lactiflora var. trichocarpa, Potentilla discolor, Berchemia berchemiaefolia, Trigonotis icumae and Iris odaesanensis. The Korean endemic plants were 9 taxa such as Carpinus laxiflora, Pseudostellaria coreana, Philadelphus schrenkii, Indigofera koreana, Lespedeza maritima, Vicia chosenensis, Galium koreanum, Lonicera subsessilis and Weigela subsessilis. The specific plants by floristic region were 38 taxa such as Salix chaenomeloides(I), Hylomecon vernalis (I), Oxalis obtriangulata (I), Viola orientalis(II), Adoxa moschatellina (II), Cirsium chanroenicum (II), Vitex negundo var. incisa (III) and so forth. The naturalized plants were 36 taxa such as Fallopia dumetorum, Chenopodium album, Lepidium virginicum, Amorpha fruticosa, Euphorbia supina, Carduus crispus, Erigeron strigosus, Festuca myuros and so forth. The invasive aline plant was Aster pilosus. The target plants adaptable to climate change were 8 taxa such as Artemisia rubripes, Carpesium macrocephalum and so forth.

장성 치유의 숲에 분포하는 관속식물상 (Vascular Plants Distributed in Jangseong Healing Forest)

  • The purpose of this study is to present the basic data for establishing the plan of usage and management of healing forest by surveying and analysing the vascular plants distributed in Jangseong Healing Forest. The numbers of vascular plants were summarized as 338 taxa including 85 families, 211 genera, 294 species, 3 subspecies, 33 varieties and 8 forms. In the result of life form, hemicryptophytes and geophytes were the most common and hydrophytes were the least. The rare plants were 5 taxa including Abies koreana Wilson(planted), Thuja orientalis L.(planted), Scutellaria insignis Nakai, Tricyrtis macropoda Miq. and Arisaema heterophyllum Blume. The Korean endemic plants were 12 taxa including Philadelphus schrenkii Rupr., Indigofera koreana Ohwi, Lycoris flavescens M.Y.Kim & S.T.Lee and so forth. The specific plants by floristic region were 28 taxa including 2 taxa of grade IV, 3 taxa of grade III, 7 taxa of grade II and 16 taxa of grade I. The naturalized plants were 20 taxa including Fallopia convolvulus (L.) $A.L{\ddot{o}}ve$, Ailanthus altissima (Mill.) Swingle, Veronica arvensis L., Poa pratensis L. and so forth. The invasive alien plants were Rumex acetocella L. and Ambrosia artemisiifolia L..

경주시의 도시하천인 북천에 분포하는 관속식물상 (Vascular Plants Distributed in Bukcheon Stream, Urban Stream in Gyeongju-si)

  • The purpose of this study is to present the basic data for maintenance and management of river ecosystem by surveying and analysing the kinds and their characteristics of vascular plants in Bukcheon stream, Gyeongju-si, South Korea. The numbers of vascular plants were summarized as 428 taxa including 92 families, 265 genera, 3 subspecies, 24 varieties, 6 forms, 5 hybrids and 5 cultivars. Among the identified taxa, there were 90 planted species. The endangered wild species was Cicuta virosa, and the rare plants were 5 taxa including Prunus × yedoensis, Juniperus chinensis L. var. sargentii and so on. The Korean endemic plants were 5 taxa Populus × tomentiglandulosa, Salix koriyanagi, Lespedeza maritima, Forsythia koreana and Aster pseudoglehni. The specific plants by floristic region were 26 taxa including 2 taxa of grade V, 3 taxa of grade IV, 2 taxa of grade III, 8 taxa of grade II and 11 taxa of grade I. The naturalized plants were 81 taxa including Euphorbia maculata, Erigeron strigosus, Vulpia myuros and so on. The invasive alien plants were 7 taxa including Humulus scandens, Rumex acetosella, Ambrosia artemisiifolia, Ambrosia trifida, Lactuca seriola, Symphyotrichum pilosum and Paspalum distichum.

Genomic Analysis of the Xanthoria elegans and Polyketide Synthase Gene Mining Based on the Whole Genome

  • Xanthoria elegans is a lichen symbiosis, that inhabits extreme environments and can absorb UV-B. We reported the de novo sequencing and assembly of X. elegans genome. The whole genome was approximately 44.63 Mb, with a GC content of 40.69%. Genome assembly generated 207 scaffolds with an N50 length of 563,100 bp, N90 length of 122,672 bp. The genome comprised 9,581 genes, some encoded enzymes involved in the secondary metabolism such as terpene, polyketides. To further understand the UV-B absorbing and adaptability to extreme environments mechanisms of X. elegans, we searched the secondary metabolites genes and gene-cluster from the genome using genome-mining and bioinformatics analysis. The results revealed that 7 NR-PKSs, 12 HR-PKSs and 2 hybrid PKS-PKSs from X. elegans were isolated, they belong to Type I PKS (T1PKS) according to the domain architecture; phylogenetic analysis and BGCs comparison linked the putative products to two NR-PKSs and three HR-PKSs, the putative products of two NR-PKSs were emodin xanthrone (most likely parietin) and mycophelonic acid, the putative products of three HR-PKSs were soppilines, (+)-asperlin and macrolactone brefeldin A, respectively. 5 PKSs from X. elegans build a correlation between the SMs carbon skeleton and PKS genes based on the domain architecture, phylogenetic and BGC comparison. Although the function of 16 PKSs remains unclear, the findings emphasize that the genes from X. elegans represent an unexploited source of novel polyketide and utilization of lichen gene resources.

울릉도의 섬자리공 분포와 자생지의 생태적 특성 (Ecological Characteristics and Distribution of Native Phytolacca insularis in Ulleung Island)

  • This study was conducted to investigate the native Phytolacca insularis in Ulleung Island for their distribution and ecological characteristics. P. insularis, called as "Sum-Ja-Ri-Gong", is very rare plant which is only restricted in Ulleung Island. It is a plant out of 217 endangered plant species designated by the Korea Forest Service (1996). The native sites were discovered several plants in the small communities at the area from 32m to 116m above the sea level in the seashore of Ulleung Island. The average vegetation height of herb layer in the native sites was 0.77m and average coverage percentage of vegetation layer was 75.56%. Average 11.89 species were emerged on a plot. P. insularis has a tendency to emerged with Galium spurium var. echinospermon and Artemisia lavandulaefolia community.

A new record of Tordylium maximum (Apiaceae) from Korea

  • Tordylium maximum L. (Apiaceae), native to south, south-central Europe and southwest Asia and a rare alien plant in northern Europe, was newly found in Jeollabuk-do in Korea. Tordylium is clearly distinguished from other genera by having radiating petals, filiform bracts, linear bractlets, stalked mericarps with minutely vesicular dorsal face or strigose hairs, and an annual habit. Tordylium maximum is different from other species of the genus by its mericarps with smooth margins and 10-16 rays not contracted in fruit. T. maximum grows on dry and sunny grasslands. Here, we report the first occurrence of the genus Tordylium represented by T. maximum in Korea and provide a precise description, illustration, photographs of the species, and a taxonomic key to allied taxa in Korea.

생태·경관보전지역 선정을 위한 경상남도 황석산 일대에 분포하는 식물상 연구 (Study on Flora Distributed around Mt. Hwangseok, Gyeongsangnam-do for Selecting the Ecological and Landscape Conservation Area)

  • 황석산 일대에 분포하는 식물상은 97과 295속 394종 4아종 80변종 17품종 등 총 495분류군으로 요약되었다. 분류군 구성 비율의 경우 양치식물 4.2%, 나자식물 1.2%, 쌍자엽식물 78.8%, 단자엽식물 15.8%로 나타났다. 희귀식물은 지리바꽃, 너도바람꽃, 쥐방울덩굴, 태백제비꽃 등 9분류군이었다. 한국특산식물은 은사시나무, 참개별꽃, 진범, 은꿩의다리 등 13분류군이었다. 식물구계학적 특정식물은 승마, 긴오이풀, 앉은부채, 물박달나무 등 16분류군으로 나타났다. 기후변화 적응 대상식물은 진범, 자란초, 지리대사초, 여우콩 등 11분류군이었다. 귀화식물은 나도닭의덩굴, 소리쟁이, 미국자리공, 아까시나무 등 총 20분류군으로 확인되었으며, 생태계교란야생식물은 미국쑥부쟁이 1분류군으로 나타났다. 생태적 중요종이 출현한 지역에 대한 정확한 범위를 설정하여 핵심, 완충, 전이지역 등으로 구분하는 것이 필요할 것이며, 희귀식물, 특산식물의 분포지역과 연계시켜 체계적인 지역 관리 계획이 수립되어야 할 것이다. 또한 다양한 평가기법과 정확한 자료구축을 실시하여 핵심지역 설정의 타당성을 확보하는 것도 요구된다.

설악산 국립공원 외설악의 멸종위기 식물 (Rare and Endangered Plants of Oesorak in Soraksan National Park)

  • 1996년 5월부터 8월까지 2차례에 걸친 설악산 국립공원 외설악의 희귀 및 멸종위기 식물을 조사하였다. 이들은 대부분 등산로 주변에 위치하고 있으며, 식용 및 약용 등 인위적인 훼손의 우려가 많아 종 및 서식지 수준에서의 특별한 보호가 요구된다. 특히 설악눈주목은 개체수가 적고 생육상황이 좋지 못한 것으로 조사되었다.

전라북도 지방의 한약자원 식물에 관한 연구 (Studies on Herbal Resources Plants in Chollabuk-do Area)

  • 전라북도지방 소산 한약자원 식물은 91과 305속 470종 1아종 30변종 2품종으로 총 503종류가 본 조사결과 밝혀졌다. 각 과별로 그 숫자가 많은 종류는 국화과에 속하는 식물이 45종류로 가장 빈번하게 나타났고 그 다음은 장미과 식물이 30종류 그리고 콩과는 23종류의 순서였다. 전 조사지역에 고루 다수 분포하는 종류는 오미자, 마, 승마, 촛대승마, 족도리, 천남성, 둥굴레, 꿀풀, 박새를 들 수 있으며 집중적으로 나는 상태를 알아보기 위하여 정량조사를 실시한 결과, 예컨대, 더덕은 5m$\times$5m내에 30-50 개체가 덕유산 표고 약1300m 북서사면에서 조사되었다. 현재 심한 채취로 감소추세에 있는 식물은 둥굴레, 오미자, 더덕 등이고, 농가에서 재배중이거나 앞으로 개발 유망하며 가치가 높은 종류는 만삼, 가시오갈피, 천마, 복분자딸기, 더덕, 하수오 등이 있다. 요컨대 전라북도 지방에는 풍부하고 다양한 한약자원식물이 자연상태에 분포하고 있으며 이를 연구하고 집중적인 개발이 필요하다고 판단되었다.
