As the results of the analysis, the internal factors for the success of commercialization of the facial extraction and recognition image security information system of the company were found to include (1) Holding of technology for close range facial recognition, (2) Holding of several facial recognition related patents, (3) Preference for the facial recognition security system over the fingerprint recognition and (4) strong volition of the CEO of the corresponding company. On the other hand, the external environmental factors for the success were found to include (1) Extensiveness of the market, (2) Rapid growth of the global facial recognition market, (3) Increased demand for the image security system, (4) Competition in securing of the engine for facial extraction and recognition and (5) Selection by the government as one of the 100 major strategic products.
The linear polarization resistance method is one of the widely used techniques for the corrosion rate monitoring in the water circulating systems of plants. The measurement is simple and rapid, so that a continuous on-line monitoring is possible without any shutdown of plants. A 2-electrode polarization corrosion rate measurement system was installed in a laboratory using a data acquisition board and PC. The signal processing parameters were optimized for the accurate corrosion rate measurement, and the polarization resistance was compensated with the solution resistance measured by the high frequency sine wave signal of an output channel. The precision of corrosion rate data was greatly improved by removing the initial noise signals on measuring the polarization resistance.
With rapid growth in light-harvesting efficiency from 3.8 to 25.8%, organic-inorganic hybrid perovskite solar cells (PSCs) have attracted great attention as promising photovoltaic devices. However, despite of their outstanding performance, the commercialization of PSCs has been suffered from severe stability issues, especially for UV and humidity: (i) UV irradiation towards PSCs is able to lead UV-induced decomposition of perovskite films or catalytic reactions of charge-transporting layers, and (ii) exposure to surrounding humidity causes irreversible hydration of perovskite layers by the penetration of water molecules, resulting considerable decrease in their power-conversion efficiency (PCE). This review investigates current status of strategies to enhance UV and humidity stability of PSCs in terms of UV-management and moisture protection, respectively. Furthermore, the multifunctional approach to increase long-term stability as well as performance is discussed as advanced research directions for the commercialization of PSCs.
This study compares domestic and foreign research on renewable energy-based water electrolysis clean hydrogen. Domestic studies from 2010 to 2023 focused on technological efficiency, energy efficiency, and system efficiency, with few analyzing infrastructure and technology trends. Overseas research initially focused on technological efficiency and stability, but has since shifted to economic and environmental impact, policy effectiveness, industry-university-research cooperation, and sustainability. To improve water electrolysis technology production, this study suggests prioritizing technology stability over efficiency, resolving government regulations and resident acceptance issues, promoting industry-university-institute cooperation for rapid commercialization of research results, and developing a strategy for sustainable development of renewable energy-based water electrolysis technology.
Holographic display technology is one of the promising 3D display technologies. However, the large amount of computation time required to generate computer-generated holograms (CGH) is a major obstacle to the commercialization of digital hologram. In various systems such as multi-depth head-up-displays with hologram contents, it is important to transmit hologram data in real time. In this paper, we propose a rapid CGH computation method by applying an arraying of a down-scaled hologram with the multiplication of a shifted concave lens function array. Compared to conventional angular spectrum method (ASM) calculation, we achieved about 39 times faster calculation speed for 3840 × 2160 pixel CGH calculation. Through the numerical investigation and experiments, we verified the degradation of reconstructed hologram image quality made by the proposed method is not so much compared to conventional ASM.

For decades, the pursuit of volume commercialization of low-power reflective displays with a paper-like look has been an unfulfilled dream. While steady technical progress was made throughout the late 1990s, there were still no volume products incorporating electronic paper displays (EPD) on the market. Now, microencapsulated electrophoretic display technology, also called electronic ink, has moved into volume production with a frontplane laminate (FPL) display component called E Ink Imaging Film™. This film is coated roll to roll on a flexible plastic substrate and integrated into a display module. Today, all-plastic segmented displays are being shipped as well as displays with electronic ink FPL being driven by glass TFT backplanes. A roadmap to active matrix flexible electrophoretic displays is being enabled by rapid technical progress on flexible TFT backplanes by a variety companies. Each of the approaches to these backplanes and flexible active matrix displays has different advantages for the various market segments being pursued including large format flexible displays for e-news and other reader applications, rollable displays for compact readers, and high resolution small format displays up to 400 ppi that can have fully integrated drive electronics to reduce size and drive down costs. Backplane approaches include Si on plastic, organic transistors on plastic, and Si transistors on flexible stainless steel substrate. Progress is also being made on next generation inks, including more reflective inks with higher contrast ratios. A full color 6 inch, 170 pixel per inch (PPI) active matrix display using a newer generation ink has been developed and this will be described and demonstrated. Large format segmented flexible displays will also be described.
The ornamental industry encompasses cut flower, pot plant, turfgrass and nursery stock production and is an important part of the agricultural sector. As internationally traded commodities, cut flowers and plants are an integral part of the economy of a number of developing countries in South America, the Caribbean and Africa. Genetic modification (GM) is a tool with great potential to the ornamental horticulture industry. The rapid progress in our knowledge of plant molecular biology can accelerate the breeding ornamental plants using recombinant DNA technology techniques. Not only is there the possibility of creating new, novel products the driver of the industry but also the potential to develop varieties requiring less chemical and energy inputs. As an important non-food agricultural sector the use of genetically modified (GM) ornamental crops may also be ideal for the intensive farming necessary to generate pharmaceuticals and other useful products in GM plants. To date, there are only a few ornamental GM products in development and only one, a carnation genetically modified for flower colour, in the marketplace. International Flower Developments, a joint venture between Florigene Ltd. in Australia and Suntory Ltd. of Japan, developed the GM carnations. These flowers are currently on sale in USA, Japan and Australia. The research, development and commercialization of these products are summarized. The long term prospects for ornamental GM products, like food crops, will be determined by the regulatory environment, and the acceptance of GM products in the marketplace. These critical factors will be analysed in the context of the current legislative environment, and likely public and industry opinion towards ornamental genetically modified organisms (GMO's).
