한국철도 소음 예측을 위한 음향파워 산출 및 활용에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Evaluation of Acoustic Power of Korean Railway for Noise Prediction and its Application)

  • For the reduction and efficient management of railway noise, first of all prediction of railway noise is necessarily requisted. At home and abroad many studies for prediction of railway nearby noise have been accomplished. But it is impossible to predict exactly for the Korean Railway, because the acoustic powers for each rolling stock used in Korea have not been built yet. So in this study, acoustic powers for each Korean rolling stock such as Samaeul, Mugungwha were builded acceding to the speed and rail support systems. Predicted results using the acoustic powers suggested in this study are compared with measured results and it is known that these acoustic powers can be used for precise prediction of railway noise.

  • Railway safety management information systems are now being developed by various railway related organizations. A large number of railway safety related data were gathered from railway operators, railway infrastructure manager and railway intendance, etc. The meaning of these data can easily be defined by each organization or developer with little regard for reusing of data by others. Until the present, the main efforts for data management focused on classifying the railway safety data by subject for the developer's convenience and how to combine these data each other is not interested in. In this study, data integration is considered from the viewpoint of combining them semantically in order to get more useful information from partially informed data of multi agencies.

  • Risk-based railway safety management has been mandatory in Korea as by relevant laws and regulations enacted since the Railway Safety Act 2004. In particular, the Railway Vehicle Safety Guidance came into effect on Jan 1, 2008 specifies the details of methodology for hazard analysis, risk assessment and safety verification and validation. Fundamentals for success of the risk-based safety management are systematic hazard identification and risk assessment by use of reasonable risk assessment criteria, but the principle of risk-based safety management has not been applied in an effective way to introduction and maintenance of railway vehicle systems because definite risk assessment criteria have not been set down for each railway system or railway network. The purpose of this study is to suggest a risk matrix development principle for risk assessment of domestic urban metro vehicles by analyses of relevant rules and railway operating environment of Korea.

신설 광역철도 운전속도 향상방안 연구 (A Study on the Improvement of the Train Operation Speed for the New Metropolitan Railway)

  • A wide metropolitan railway and a metropolitan railway in metropolitan area are transportation systems to cope with possible large demand and are under construction continually. A wide metropolitan railway and a metropolitan railway in metropolitan area are running with low speed because it is difficult to improve train speed according to short distances between stations and topography. There is a few study on improving commercial speed on the existing wide metropolitan railway and metropolitan railway in metropolitan area, but there is no study on a new wide metropolitan railway. This study present speed-up scheme of the Sosa-Wonsi line by enlarging the curve radius, reducing the horizontal steep gradient, reducing the stopping time, speeding up at underground section, and installing the PSD, etc. This scheme is evaluated using the simulation technique.

A Study on the Command Priority between Railway Traffic Controllers Based on Railway Control System Using AHP Method

  • This study compared and analyzed the importance of command priority between railway traffic controllers through pairwise comparison of AHP analysis. 27 railway traffic controllers working on metropolitan railway control center, urban railway control center, and unmanned driving control center responded. As a result of the analysis, all the railway traffic controllers generally recognized the train driving control and train signal control as the most important priorities. For the controller in the manned driving system, a train driving control was the highest at 0.375. On the other hand, the controller based on unmanned driving recognized train signal control as the highest priority at 0.469. In the result of the AHP analysis considering all the variables, the braking system was the highest priority at 0.19 based on manned train driving. On the other hand, the controller based on unmanned train driving recognized wired and wireless network systems and SCADA as the highest priority at 0.267.

Defect Monitoring In Railway Wheel and Axle

  • The railway system requires safety and reliability of service of all railway vehicles. Suitable technical systems and working methods adapted to it, which meet the requirements on safety and good order of traffic, should be maintained. For detection of defects, non-destructive testing methods-which should be quick, reliable and cost-effective - are most often used. Since failure in railway wheelset can cause a disaster, regular inspection of defects in wheels and axles are mandatory. Ultrasonic testing, acoustic emission and eddy current testing method and so on regularly check railway wheelset in service. However, it is difficult to detect a crack initiation clearly with ultrasonic testing due to noise echoes. It is necessary to develop a non-destructive technique that is superior to conventional NDT techniques in order to ensure the safety of railway wheelset. In the present paper, the new NDT technique is applied to the detection of surface defects for railway wheelset. To detect the defects for railway wheelset, the sensor for defect detection is optimized and the tests are carried out with respect to surface and internal defects each other. The results show that the surface crack depth of 1.5 mm in press fitted axle and internal crack in wheel could be detected by using the new method. The ICFPD method is useful to detect the defect that initiated in railway wheelset.

Development of an Imaging Based Gang Protection System

  • During maintenance or construction works in or at the tracks of railways, high risks for passengers and railway staff, especially for the workers on the construction site exist. The high risks result out of the movement of rail vehicles, like trains or construction vehicles, which must be faced by using any available technical and operational technologies for securing them against the environment. Therefore, it is necessary to evaluate the level of protection continuously and to identify new and innovative methods and technologies for the protection of the gang (construction worker, machines and material). Especially on construction sites at line sections with two or more parallel tracks but also with single tracks, there are still a lot of incidents and accidents mostly with seriously injured persons or fatalities. These were mainly gang members that breach the railway-loading gage. By using proper warning or protection systems, the avoidance of such accidents must be achieved. The latest developments. in gang protection systems concern on the one hand fixed barriers in the middle between the construction site and the operated track and on the other hand construction vehicles equipped with automatic warning systems. The disadvantage of such protection methods is that the gang can be warned against an approaching train but a monitoring of the gang members cannot be performed. Only one part of a potential dangerous situation will be detected. If the gang members will overhear the acoustic warning signal of the security staff and the workers will not leave the danger zone in the track, the driver of the approaching train had no chance to react to the dangerous situation. An accident is often inevitable. While the detection of acoustic warning signals by the gang members working on a construction site is very difficult, the acoustical planning of an automatic warning system has to be designed for an acoustic short range level of one meter besides the construction vehicle. The decision about the use of today's technical warning system (fixed systems, automatic warning systems, etc.) must be geared to the technical feasibility and the level of safety which is needed. Criteria for decision guidance to block a track should be developed by danger estimation and economical variables. To realize the actual jurisdiction and to minimize the hazards of railway operations by the use of construction vehicles near the tracks further developments are needed. This means, that the warning systems have to be enhanced to systems for protection, which monitor the realization of the warning signal as a precondition for giving a movement authority to a train. This method can protect against accidents caused by predictable wrongdoing. The actual state of the art technique of using a collective warning combined with additional security staff is no longer acceptable. Therefore, the Institute of Transportation System of the German Aerospace Center in Braunschweig (Germany) will develop a gang warning and protection system based upon imaging methods, with optical sensors such as video in visible and invisible ranges, radar, laser, and other. The advantage of such a system based on the possibility to monitor both the gang itself and the railway-loading gauge either of the parallel track or of the same track still in use. By monitoring both situations, the system will be able to generate a warning message for the approaching train, that there are obstacles in the track, so that the train can be stopped to prevent an accident. And also the gang workers will be warned, while they breach their area.

도시철도차량의 비상 시나리오 분석을 통한 비상방송 및 비상조명의 모듈화 방안 연구 (Modularization of Emergency Broadcasting and Lighting Considering Emergency Scenarios of Urban Railway Vehicle)

  • 철도 비상대응계획 수립에 관한 지침에 의하면 도시철도차량의 비상상황에 대한 자동방송 및 조명시스템에 대한 설비가 반드시 필요하다. 도시철도차량 안전기준에 관한 규칙에 의하면 비상상황이 발생하였을 때 비상조명은 30분 이상 정상동작할 수 있어야 하고, 비상방송은 승무원에 의해 안내되어야 한다. 하지만, 현재 운영되는 비상시스템은 운영기관 마다 설치여부 또는 설치된 제품이 다르며, 유지보수 및 관리가 되고 있지 않아서 동작여부를 판단하기 어렵다. 따라서, 본 논문에서는 비상시스템의 표준화를 위한 모듈화 방안에 대해서 연구를 수행한다. 도시철도차량의 사고 상황과 사고 발생 시나리오를 분석을 기반으로 기존 비상시스템을 대체할 수 있는 비상방송 및 조명의 모듈화 방안을 도출하였다. 각 방안의 장단점을 비교한 결과 유지보수와 비용을 고려한 최종 모듈화 방안을 확정할 수 있었다.

급속충전방식 무가선 전동차 시스템을 이용한 전기요금 절감 방안 연구 (Study of Electric Charge Saving Plan Using High-speed Charging Wireless Railway System)

  • 철도 시스템의 전력 소비를 줄이기 위한 많은 연구가 진행되고 있다. 그 중에서 급속충전방식 무가선 전동차 시스템은 철도 분야에서 매우 효율적인 에너지 절감 기술로 주목 받고 있다. 본 논문에서는 ESS를 이용한 급속충전 무가선 전동차 시스템을 소개하고 현재의 도시철도 전기요금 산정방식에 대하여 분석하였다. 이러한 분석을 바탕으로 급속 충전 무가선 전동차 시스템 적용 가능한 두 가지 전기요금 저감 방안(기본요금을 저감하는 방식(Case 1)과 전력량요금을 저감시키는 방식(Case 2))을 제안하였다. 제한하는 방식의 타당성 확인을 위해 현재 운영 중인 전동차 시스템(도시철도 2호선)의 전기요금과 비교하여 비용 경제성을 평가하였다.

철도교량 단부 전환부 궤도시스템의 구조적 거동특성 및 장기 내구성능 분석 (Evaluation of the Structural Behavior Characteristics and Long Term Durability for Transition Track Systems in Railway Bridge Deck Ends)

  • 본 논문의 목적은 철도교량 단부 전환부 궤도의 구조적 거동특성을 평가하는 것이다. 국내 고속철도 교량상 궤도표준단면을 이용하여 전환부 궤도구조를 설계 및 제작하여 피로시험 전, 후에 대한 전환부 궤도시스템의 중립축 및 동특성(고유진동수 및 감쇠비)의 변화를 비롯하여 피로균열 발생경향을 수치해석 결과와 비교, 검토하였다. 연구결과, 국내 고속철도 궤도설계기준을 준용하여 설계한 전환부 궤도시스템에 대한 동특성을 실험적으로 산정하였으며 국내 철도하중 및 충격효과를 고려한 피로하중에 대한 구조적 건전성을 실험 및 해석적으로 입증하였다.
