  • Making practical use of urban MAGLEV system which is tried by government includes technique development and railway construction. Because huge amount of money will be spent on this project, feasibility study is being carried out in order to check the feasibility and to devise the master plan in prior to making practical use of urban MAGLEV system. The key issues of feasibility study are possibility of technique development, economical feasibility, location of a model railway and the improvement of related laws and regulations. This paper shows the approach to solve these key issues.

  • The stray current(leakage current) in DC railway system like as Metro Subway and LRT system happens electrical corrosion on theses superstructure facilities and also underground facilities that causes the public property losses. we must study and establish on the theoretical concept and concrete phenomena for electrical corrosion, In the construction period we intend to review and find out a lot of solution to minimize theses losses. we must investigate, measure and analysis natural atmosphere of these facilities locations to present a maintenance management guide for the upcoming operation stage.

  • This paper was reviewed technical items of catenary system for electrification of Gyeongbu(Dongdaegu∼Busan) and Honam(Daejeon∼Mokpo) conventional Railways. The lines have adopted new technical items in order to connect to Gyeongbu high speed railway. We can use the technology and experience of Gyeongbu and Honam lines to a new catenary system design up-graded for speed-up of conventional lines and new lines construction.

  • According to the current eligibility criteria in Korea, only cities with populations of more than one million are eligible to carry out urban rail transit construction projects. This paper suggests measures for improving such systems by reviewing current eligibility criteria for the construction of urban rail transit including subway and LRT in Korea.

  • 본 연구에서는 철도건설로 인한 네트워크 효과를 고려할 수 있는 철도망 설계문제(Railway Network Design Problem, RNDP)를 제안하고 이를 풀기 위한 알고리듬을 제시코자 한다. 이를 위하여 bi-level 프로그램으로 모형을 구축하며, 상위문제는 총 통행비용을 최소화시키는 설계변수(design variable)를 구하는 문제이고, 하위문제(lower level problem)는 이에 따른 철도 승객의 철도선택 문제로 표현된다. 따라서, 본 연구의 철도망 설계문제는 철도건설로 인한 승객들의 노선변화를 고려할 있는 장전이 있으며 이점이 기존 철도망설계문제와의 차이점이다. 본 연구에서 제안된 모형과 알고리듬을 2개의 예제 철도망에 적용해 본 결과, 합리적인 해를 산출하여 향후 철도망 계획분야에 적용할 수 있음을 확인하였다.

콘크리트궤도 부설 교량의 단부 사용성 검토를 위한 매개변수 연구 (The Parameter Study of Serviceability Review of End Track on Railway Bridge installed Concrete Slab Track)

  • Construction of concrete slab track is trending to increase gradually in national and international for reduction in track maintenance cost and secure of ride comfort. However, in case of railway bridge installed concrete slab track, the serviceability review of end deck should be performed for reducing the maintenance cost of track. The serviceability review of track contains that the compression force which is occurred on fastener of end bridge should be smaller than the compression force causing the deformation limit of elastic pad and the uplift force which is occurred on fastener of end abutment should be smaller than initial fastening force. Therefore, this study calculated the deflection and end rotation of the railway bridge according to the span length and stiffness of railway bridge and estimated the compression force and uplift force which are occurred on the track of end bridge using the finite element method. This study indicated the several diagrams that are contained the correlation between the behaviour of the track and the behaviour of the railway bridge. As a result, to reduce the end rotation of the railway bridge is very efficient to increase the height of railway deck.

스마트 철도 네트워크를 위한 통신 구조 (Communication Structure for Smart Railway Network)

  • 고속화 되고 있는 철도 시스템은 각 구성 요소의 자동화를 넘어 이를 통합한 스마트 철도 네트워크로 진화되고 있다. 이와 같은 스마트 철도 네트워크를 구축하기 위해서는 LTE-R이나 5G-R과 같은 모바일 통신 기술 뿐만 아니라 AI, 빅데이터, 딥러닝과 같은 융복합 정보기술의 활용이 필수적이다. 본 연구에서는 이와 같이 스마트 철도 네트워크를 위한 철도 통신의 구조를 제안하고자 한다. 본 연구에서 제안하는 스마트 철도 네트워크 통신 구조는 고속철도의 안전 운행, 철도 관리 및 고객 서비스를 포괄하는 구조로 구성되며 필요에 따라 이를 혼합한 기능을 가질 수도 있다. 본 연구의 결과는 스마트 철도 네트워크의 구축과 운영 및 유지 관리, 철도통신 시스템 표준의 개발 등에 도움을 줄 수 있을 것으로 생각한다.

고속철도 궤도검측자료 분석기법에 관한 연구 (A Study of Analysis Method for the Track geometry measuring data on High Speed Railway)

  • 고속철도 궤도검측은 공사관리는 물론, 궤도유지관리 측면에서 매우 중요한 과제이며 향후 유지보수 시 작업계획수립, 작업량산출, 열차속도제한 등 유지보수 시 기본적인 자료로 제공되는 만큼 궤도검측치의 정확성은 매우 중요하며, 이러한 관점에서 국내 궤도검측차(EM-120)의 검측성능과 정확성을 검증하고자 하였다. 본 논문에서는 현재 일반철도구간에 대한 궤도검측 시 사용하고 있는 궤도검측차 (EM-120)의 선형검측자료를 Spectrum 분석한 결과, 파장 1m 부근의 검측치에 Noise가 있는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 또한 이러한 Noise를 제거하기 위해 Spectrum 분석을 통한 새로운 Filter를 적용한 결과 실제 궤도틀림치에 보다 더 근접한 검측결과를 얻을 수 있었으며 사용기간에 따른 틀림전진 경향 또한 파악할 수 있었다.

Reliability-based assessment of American and European specifications for square CFT stub columns

  • This paper presents a probabilistic investigation of American and European specifications (i.e., AISC and Eurocode 4) for square concrete-filled steel tubular (CFT) stub columns. The study is based on experimental results of 100 axially loaded square CFT stub columns from the literature. By comparing experimental results for ultimate loads with code-predicted column resistances, the uncertainty of resistance models is analyzed and it is found that the modeling uncertainty parameter can be described using random variables of lognormal distribution. Reliability analyses were then performed with/without considering the modeling uncertainty parameter and the safety level of the specifications is evaluated in terms of sufficient and uniform reliability criteria. Results show that: (1) The AISC design code provided slightly conservative results of square CFT stub columns with reliability indices larger than 3.25 and the uniformness of reliability indices is no better because of the quality of the resistance model; (2) The uniformness of reliability indices for the Eurocode 4 was better than that of AISC, but the reliability indices of columns designed following the Eurocode 4 were found to be quite below the target reliability level of Eurocode 4.

Prediction of aerodynamic coefficients of streamlined bridge decks using artificial neural network based on CFD dataset

  • Aerodynamic force coefficients are generally obtained from traditional wind tunnel tests or computational fluid dynamics (CFD). Unfortunately, the techniques mentioned above can sometimes be cumbersome because of the cost involved, such as the computational cost and the use of heavy equipment, to name only two examples. This study proposed to build a deep neural network model to predict the aerodynamic force coefficients based on data collected from CFD simulations to overcome these drawbacks. Therefore, a series of CFD simulations were conducted using different geometric parameters to obtain the aerodynamic force coefficients, validated with wind tunnel tests. The results obtained from CFD simulations were used to create a dataset to train a multilayer perceptron artificial neural network (ANN) model. The models were obtained using three optimization algorithms: scaled conjugate gradient (SCG), Bayesian regularization (BR), and Levenberg-Marquardt algorithms (LM). Furthermore, the performance of each neural network was verified using two performance metrics, including the mean square error and the R-squared coefficient of determination. Finally, the ANN model proved to be highly accurate in predicting the force coefficients of similar bridge sections, thus circumventing the computational burden associated with CFD simulation and the cost of traditional wind tunnel tests.
