A Study for the Change of City Network in China through the Analysis of Railway Network (철도망 분석을 통한 중굴 도시 네트워크의 변화)

  • The purpose of this study is to exhibit the characteristics and changes of city network in China through the analyses railway structures and movement of passengers and goods in China. On the basis of accessibility analysis., central China area shows the highest level of accessibility, and it declines toward periphery areas. The center of City network was transfered from the central area to the east. Three main lines from north to south and the central status of main cities remain unchanged. The city network stratum structure of China can be divided into three levels. The first level is in a pattern of linear distribution within provices along main lines. The second level, shows a pattern of strengthened linear distribution and crossed influencial regions. The third level includes 5 areas.

A Study on the Application of Extension Method in Railway Transition Curved Zone Considering Field Status (지형여건을 고려한 철도 완화곡선 연장방법의 적용성에 관한 연구)

  • Railway curved zone have crucial effects on the speed of train. Length of transition curve is one of the important factor for alignment compatibility estimation in this sections, this value is decided by running speed and Cant. In this study, the extension method of transition curve is evaluated, based on the alignment of Jang Hang-Line, investigated field conditions of the sections in the curves exist. This research result show that changing of transition curve was proved by necessary to approximately two thirds of the curved sections, and method of fixing central point of track centerline and changing radius of curvature minimize the maximum shift in track centerline and deviation of radius, and also may be effective method for alignment suitability and speed up in case overall improvement is difficult.

  • Rail support failure is inevitably subjected to track geometric deformations. Due to the randomness and evolvements of track irregularities, it is naturally a hard work to grasp the trajectories of dynamic responses of railway systems. This work studies the influence of rail fastener failure on dynamic behaviours of wheel/rail interactions and the railway tracks by jointly considering the effects of track random irregularities. The failure of rail fastener is simulated by setting the stiffness and damping of rail fasteners to be zeroes in the compiled vehicle-track coupled model. While track random irregularities will be transformed from the PSD functions using a developed probabilistic method. The novelty of this work lays on providing a method to completely reveal the possible responses of railway systems under jointly excitation of track random irregularities and rail support failure. The numerical results show that rail fastener failure has a great influence on both the wheel/rail interactions and the track vibrations if the number of rail fastener failure is over three. Besides, the full views of time-dependent amplitudes and probabilities of dynamic indices can be clearly presented against different failing status.

  • A track-circuit device exploits two rails as a conductor of an electrical circuit. It detects the presence or absence of the trains with variation of received level when wheel sets of the train shunt rails together. So, it plays an important role in train operation. Non-insulated audio frequency(AF) track-circuit device can separate the rails into tracks by insulated joints without physically cutting the rails. And it transmits AF signals at track boundary, of which frequency is different between adjacent tracks. It has been employed at station-to-station section of domestic high speed rail, general rail, and subway. But It was not used at station yard of complicated general railway where lots of branches exist. In this paper, we consider current development status of non-insulated AF track-circuit device for the use of station yard.

  • A turnout serves to switch train from one line to another. The turnout consists of a Point which is switchs the rail to induce direction, and a Crossing which is cross over two line on the plane surface, and a Lead where is middle section in Point to Crossing. Point machine, consists of a turnout, is important facilities in railway signal, that is safety issue relates in derailment of the train. Recently, train delay and accident frequently occurred because of the turnout include in a point machine trouble of electrical and mechanical. So in order to prevent train accident the research is advanced, install of normal and reverse indication lamp in a point machine, development of adherence detector for sensing the status of adhesion between the stock rails and tongue rails etc. In this paper investigates the problem which is connected with a turnout trouble, include in a point machine, occurrence at the time of train accident, and then proposed to the safety system model in order to prevent the train accident in turnout.

  • Key set the current non-urban rail power failure of equipment to operate the railway will generate a lot of problems. I know in advance the ideal of power equipment to prevent the failure to derive an efficient replacement cycle for the power equipment monitoring and diagnosis of the condition can become necessary to develop a system. In order to determine the status of the power plant during operation and behavior of the partial discharge current state data, regular monitoring and inspection requirements also stamp the basic current, voltage, temperature and humidity should be identified.

  • To carry out the evaluation of performance of railway product/system, 3 step verification process(design review-lab test-field test) should be done. In advanced countries, for the effective field test, test-only-oriented track have been constructed and used. In Korea, government announced "The construction plan of railroad test track" at 2009.06. This paper will summarize 'need of test track', 'technical meaning of test track', 'current status of foreign test track', 'fundamental plan and process strategy of Korea Railroad Test Track'. It is no need to say that the wisdom of all railroad related people is required for the successful construction and usage of Korea Railroad Test Track.

  • Currently in electric railways, there are various test standards for catenary systems such as stability assessment standards and maintenance standards for appropriate vehicle operation. In Korea, maintenance vehicles are used to measure height, stagger, and wear of catenaries and various tests are being conducted based on maintenance manuals. In this paper, real-time data aquisition technologies for assessment of electric railway current collection status between catenaries and pantographs that are consistantely being developed from the adoption of electric railways were analyzed based on on-board measurement items.

  • Railway takes an important role of transporting massive passenger and freight. Accidents which occur related to trains have a risk of serious loss of lives, so those accidents need to be controlled urgently Therefore moving picture transmission system is required which transmits exact information of moving picture of accident status to CTC and also communication line is also required with it. By using WTB line as a wayside transmission line, railway telephones, fax and train service information are provided to local offices. As transmission line improving project, optical cabling work is being processed by phases. Therefore optical fiber line is more effective way for a communicating way between stations than coaxial transmission line. This Paper considers connecting method when optical fibers is used for moving picture data transmission of train accidents and its problems.

  • RCM developed by American air industry in early 1960, its process is most realistic for some physical assets and it permits the system to maintain given function status through decision of demand about optimum maintenance. Therefore, many industries have selected RCM technique and have carried out RCM in order to solve many problems concerning maintenance management as improvement of reliability and availability of facilities, removal of hazard element about break down and retrenchment of maintenance cost. Through the execution of RCM, we can solve actual problems. And finally we will be able to develop more and more maintenance activities with RCM notion. In this study, we will consider the application of KTX-RCM which is set up with basic theory of RCM and constructed to improve vehicle safety, availability and regularity of KTX, linking with CMMS(Computerized Maintenance Management System).
