철도건널목 사고방지를 위한 방안 연구 (Accident prevention technology development at a level crossing)

  • The level crossing collision accident which comprises more than 90 percent of all level crossing accidents is one of the most serious safety problems. There is a critical need for providing safe strategy and is focusing on the level crossing information rather than measures at a grade crossing. This study is intended to develop technology for accident prevention and damage reduction based on accident cases analysis result and improvement direction to complement shortcomings of safety equipment of conventional level crossing and to establish safety of travelers(train, motor vehicle, person).

  • 대형 고밀도역의 상시로컬 상태의 자동운행제어와 온라인 확장 및 유지보수기능을 가진 새로운 열차운행제어체계를 구축하기 위하여 자율분산시스템 개념을 적용한 열차운행제어시스템을 개발 중에 있다. 본 논문에서는 이 연구의 일환으로 개발 중인 데이터 필드를 이용한 열차운행제어시뮬레이터에 대하여 기술한다.

윤활유 유래 철도 오염토양의 정화방법 연구 (Feasibility Study on Remediation for Railroad-contaminated Soil with Waste-lubricant)

  • 본 연구에서는 철도 윤활유 유래 오염토양을 정화하기 위해 토양세척방법, 화학적 산화법, 초음파 추출법의 타당성을 연구하였다. 세척제로는 tergitol이 사용되었으며, 세척실험은 보조용매인 iso-propyl alcohol을 사용하여 진행되었다. Tergitol이 디젤오염토양의 세척에는 효과적인 것으로 알려져 있으나, 윤활유 오염토양의 세척에는 효과적이지 못했다. iso-propyl alcohol을 보조용매로 사용한 경우 계면활성제의 토양 흡착을 증가시켜 오히려 세척효율이 감소하였다. 화학적 산화방법은 윤활유의 약 30% 정도만 제거할 수 있었다. 화학적 산화처리후 계면활성제에 의한 토양세척을 통해 약 16-17%의 추가적인 윤활유의 세척효과를 얻을 수 있었다. 초음파는 토양세척의 효과를 증가시키는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 TPH 오염 철도 토양의 오염원에 따라 다른 방법을 적용하야 한다.

  • In Korea more than 38,000 types of hazardous material(HAZMAT) are distributed, accordingly the accidents during transportation are also increasing. The agencies related to HAZMAT such as Environment Ministry, National Emergency Management Agency and National Police Agency have their own regulations. However, the classification criteria of HAZMAT are different to each other, which causes many problems in response to transportation accidents. In this study the classification standard of HAZMAT and the classification code using CAS number are suggested to manage HAZMAT efficiently. Through efficient management and standard classification of HAZMAT, the rapid and systematic response to transportation accidents related to HAZMAT is expected to be possible.

Measuring displacements of a railroad bridge using DIC and accelerometers

  • Railroad bridges in North America are an integral but aging part of the railroad network and are typically only monitored using visual inspections. When quantitative information is required for assessment, railroads often monitor bridges using accelerometers. However without a sensor to directly measure displacements, it is difficult to interpret these results as they relate to bridge performance. Digital Image Correlation (DIC) is a non-contact sensor technology capable of directly measuring the displacement of any visible bridge component. In this research, a railroad bridge was monitored under load using DIC and accelerometers. DIC measurements are directly compared to serviceability limits and it is observed that the bridge is compliant. The accelerometer data is also used to calculate displacements which are compared to the DIC measurements to assess the accuracy of the accelerometer measurements. These measurements compared well for zero-mean lateral data, providing measurement redundancy and validation. The lateral displacements from both the accelerometers and DIC at the supports were then used to determine the source of lateral displacements within the support system.

다기능성을 갖는 철도 차량용 승차감 측정시스템 개발 (Development of Ride Comfort Measuring System for Railway with Multi-function)

  • Recently, the "ride comfort" problem becomes increasingly important because of today's needs for train speedup. The concept of term "ride comfort" is equivocal. Generally it is defined as the vehicle vibration. There are many studies on evaluation method of ride comfort for railway. But each of them recommends the different assessment method and the different guidance. In general, the evaluation methods defined in the standards, such as ISO 2631 and UIC 513R, and Ride Index suggested by Sperling, have been used in the railroad. But, only one or two methods of these can be evaluated by using the commercial ride comfort measuring system. Therefore, it is necessary to develop the new ride comfort measuring system for railway with multi-function. In this paper, the generalization of "ride comfort" and the design and verification of new ride comfort measuring system for railway with multi-function have been described and the application examples has been introduced.

  • The development of information communication technology leads the growth of logistic industry including delivery service as well as electronic commerce. The researchers predict that it will be still improving for the next several years. The logistic information system of railroad courier has been growing for a long time with small-package delivery transportation which is similar to the land-road delivery system. Despite of the long-time growth, it is recently in pain of the great loss since the 1990's, due to the failure to satisfy the customer's need for door-to-door delivery service. But the logistic information system of railroad still has the great potential. There are so many benefits such as timeliness, Punctuality, speed, multi-node storage base, transportation efficiency, energy frugality, environmental sociability, and so on. If the railroad logistic system plays a role of a portion of the nation-wide logistic with other logistic system, the synergy through the balancing logistic will also get much of international competitive advantages. So the objective of this research is to design the model and prototype of the web-based logistic system from which railroad service provider(Korean National Railroad), delivery service providers, and the customers can share the best effective delivery information.

고속철도차량 감속구동장치 진동특성 분석 (Analysis on the Vibration Characteristics of Reduction Gear Units for High-speed Trains)

  • The gear-reduction units of Korean high-speed trains consist of a motor reduction unit, an axle gear box reduction unit, and a tripod joint shaft. A reduction gear unit is a gearbox used to reduce the rotational speed of the input shaft to a slower rotational speed on the output shaft. This reduction in output speed helps to increase torque. Defective reduction gear units in high-speed trains are caused by damage to the gear or by gear fatigue. To diagnose potential problems, it is important to know the vibration characteristics of the reduction gear units. In this study, we analyzed the vibration characteristics of reduction gears under various conditions. The test setup included a full-scale test rig to evaluate reduction gear under both normal and extreme operating conditions.

  • 본 연구에서는 실시간 무선 철도시스템 모니터링을 위하여 열차 주행에 따라 발생하는 열 및 진동 에너지를 전기자원화 하는 신재생 에너지 개념의 전력원인 자가발전 구동 기술에 대한 철도시스템 적용 가능성을 확인하였다. 이를 위해 실제 주행 중인 고속열차를 이용하여 철도차량의 운행환경 하에서 발생하는 열에너지와 진동에너지를 실측하여, 주행 중 이들 에너지 발생량 및 변화를 분석하고 이를 통해 진동 및 열 에너지를 이용하는 자가발전 모듈의 예측 전력량을 계산하고, 이 전력량에 대한 이 모니터링 시스템 적용 가능성에 대한 연구를 수행하였다.

시운전 시험을 통한 한국형 고속열차의 승차감 변화추세에 관한 연구 (Examination on the variation of ride comfort for korean high speed train through on-line test)

  • In this paper, we introduce the variation of ride characteristics for HSR 350x(Korea High Speed Train project) through on-line test during about 3 years. The concept of term "ride comfort" is equivocal. Generally it is evaluated as the vehicle vibration. The ride comfort for HSR 350x has been assessed by statistical method according to UIC 513R. The testing results show that HSR 350x has no problems from the viewpoint of the comfort ride on the high speed line and conventional line and that 1st and 2nd suspensions play an important role in the ride characteristics for high speed train.
