A study on the characteristics of Vibration Reduction Type Disk bearing in Station of Rapid Transit Railway (역사 내 진동저감형 디스크 받침 특성에 관한 연구)

  • Railway construction in the random vibration natural phenomena, as well as a relatively regular train loads for dynamic loads, such as a usability and safety should be ensured. Vibration due to train loads and seismic vibrations caused by wind compared to the typically very small in size, rather than the safety of the structure affects the usability. Recently in the downtown area, ground and underground facilities, such as a permanent facility that may cause excessive vibration increases, associated with the construction of these transportation facilities on ground vibrations of structures has been increasing concern and complaint. More recently, high-speed train vibration and noise due to furnace is increasing. In order to solve this problem, such as soundproof considering several feet, but by applying the vibration and noise reduction measures insufficient for the study is Free. Technical Trends and Patent Analysis for Reaming Bits (확공비트의 기술동향 및 특허분석)

  • We analyzed the patent trends for whole drilling bits to reveal the main R&D directions, focusing on patents applied for and registered in Korea, the USA, Japan, and Europe. The technology was classified into two groups as a primary classification step (reaming systems and fixed systems), and into seven groups as a secondary classification step (sliding, odex, horizontal pivot, vertical pivot, concentric, eccentric, and etc.). A total of 33,614 patents were retrieved and 870 patents were selected for final effective analysis by data deduplication and filtering. A portfolio analysis using the correlation between the number of patents and the applicants for each patents revealed a sliding system as the key technology with greatest growth potential. From an analysis of the barriers to patents being granted, we emphasize the need to avoid similar topics existing patents or patent applications and to develop differential technology.

Dynamic Change of Stresses in Subsoil under Concrete Slab Track Subjected to Increasing Train Speeds (열차 증속에 따른 콘크리트 궤도 노반의 동적 응력 변화)

  • Societal interest on a faster transportation demands an increase of the train speed exceeding current operation speed of 350 km/h. To trace the pattern of variations in displacements and subsoil stresses in the concrete slab track system, finite element simulations were conducted. For a simple track-vehicle modeling, a mass-point system representing the moving train load was developed. Dynamic responses with various train speeds from 100 to 700 km/h were investigated. As train speeds increase the displacement at rail and subsoil increases nonlinearly, whereas significant dynamic amplification at the critical velocity has not been found. At low train speed, the velocity of elastic wave carrying elastic energy is faster than the train speed. At high train speed exceeding 400 km/h, however, the train speed is approximately identical to the elastic wave velocity. Nonlinearity in the stress history in subsoil is amplified with increasing train speeds, which may cause significant plastic strains in path-dependent subsoil materials.

  • Frequent design changes or unnecessary project executions due to illogical practice, lack of feasibility study and, hasty drive have raised problems of budget waste in Korean construction projects. Since the MOCT (Ministry of Construction & Transportation) published Master Plan for budget efficiency for government projects, there have been a lot of policy efforts for budget saving. However, it has been pointed out that cost management at the pre-construction phase, which greatly influences the cost still remains imperfect. The target cost for government clients is not being estimated reasonably, and cost controlling at the pre-construction phase is not yet being carried out properly for keeping the budget. Therefore, improved construction cost management at the pre-construction phase was proposed in this paper. The cost management systems of advanced countries were investigated for it, and the issues were drawn from the cost management systems of these countries. On the basis of the issues, the present conditions and problems of domestic construction cost management at the pre-construction phase were analyzed for suggestion.

A Study on the Using Situation in Korea and Suggestions for Improvement of INCOTERMS (우리나라 무역업계의 INCOTERMS 사용현황과 개정방향에 관한 고찰)

  • INCOTERMS have been changed almost every 10 years since ICC established INCOTERMS as trade terms for International transaction. Recently transportation has become bigger, and modernized by means of electronic appliances such as RFID, IT, and containerization. FRC, FOR/FOT, FOA were added in INCOTERMS1980 and every conditions are unified into three alphabets in INCOTERMS1990. The best features of INCOTERMS2000 are that FCA substitute FRC, FOR/FOT, FOA and customs formalities were simplified to make clear for each party of contract. It seems that business circles still stick to old customs of their trade like FOB or CIF not only in Korea but in an international practice even though there have been several revisions of INCOTERMS until now. ICC have tried to provide INCOTERMS3000 to solve problems between a theory and an actual condition of international trade. This study has tried to suggest opinions against INCOTERMS3000 and has surveyed a recognition, an actual using situation and issues of INCOTERMS to get improvements. For a recognition of INCOTERMS has been spread as you can find at tables many kinds of business circles still stick to old customs of their trade terms FOB and CIF. Now there are two alternative plans. Firstly, we need to suggest improvements against inconsistency of INCOTERMS to be applied on newly revised INCOTERMS3000 and educating business circles to use proper conditions of INCOTERMS for their doing business. Secondly, we shall participate in revising INCOTERMS to activate multimodal transport conditions of INCOTERMS and provide solutions to fill gap between a theory and an actual condition of international trade. It seems that terms of multimodal transport such as FCA, CPT, or CIP can be a perfect condition for each party of contract. We have examined the inconsistent features of Ship's rail and notions of on board, and observed how to activate multimodal transport terms. These would be hot issues of next revision of INCOTERMS and we provided improvements on each trade terms, THC charges, or others against INCOTERMS.

Analysis of Train Delay in Daejeon Metro (대전도시철도의 열차 지연운행 분석연구)

  • This study investigated the causes and problems of train operation impediments through the statistics analysis of 8 years'internal data of Daejeon Metropolitan Express Transit. By evaluating the risks regarding the system, equipment, and parts of high risk group, this study measured the Risk Index Severity, and applied the $5{\times}5$ Risk Assessment Matrix which is a method of risk management to calculate the scale of risk to analyze the safety level and allowance range. As a result, the car sector, the most serious risk, followed by machinery and equipment sector showed that the inherent risk. In particular, the door broken and the door rail signaling and control devices due to defects of the vehicle is high, but also the severity, and frequency are showing very frequent additional potential accidents. PSD also had defects in the machinery sector appeared to be the most dangerous of the PSD poor safety gates, it was found that the glass also involve the risk of mishandling and breakage of the PSD. This study intended to contribute to the transportation benefits through the safety and stable operation of Metropolitan Express Transit.

Public Existence Responsibility, Corporate Identity, and Corporate Value Creation in Corporate Social Responsibility (기업의 사회적 책임(CSR)에 있어서 공적 존재로서 책임과 기업의 정체성, 기업의 가치실현에 관한 연구)

  • Purpose - This study expands the corporate social responsibility (CSR) model and concepts by adding to it the concepts of corporate identity and public existence responsibility. Then, this study examines the structural relationship between corporate identity and public existence responsibility. This study contributes to expanding CSR to give customers a different perspective from previous studies in that it specifically measures corporate public existence responsibility, corporate identity, and corporate value creation and investigates the structural relationship. Research design, data, and methodology - This study addresses specific research questions. First, it asks whether non-financial performance is a component of CSR; second, it asks if the improvement in the corporate image should be treated as its corporate identity; and third, it tries to expand CSR concepts from corporate citizenship and public market awareness to public existence responsibility. The research hypothesis is formulated to confirm the relationships among CSR, corporate value creation, corporate identity, and public existence responsibility. Result - This study confirms that CSR has a positive correlation with corporate value creation and that CSR has a relatively positive correlation with corporate identity and public existence responsibility. Additionally, it confirms a positive correlation between corporate identity and public existence responsibility. However, corporate identity and public existence responsibility do not have an effect on corporate value creation. However, the influence of public existence responsibility confirmed the influence of corporate value creation through corporate identity as a mediating variable. Conclusion - This study argues that CSR produces more general performance including both financial and non-financial performance. It also confirms that the goals and performance of CSR can substitute for corporate value creation from general performance. It further confirms that public existence responsibility includes market public awareness, corporate images, and corporate associations. It suggests that corporations should see themselves as having public existence responsibility. Further, they should devise strategies to build corporate identities that associate with corporate goals and visions. Finally, this study contributes to the expansion of perspectives on CSR theoretical concepts and goals of performance of the corporation throughout the corporate value creation process.

Investigation of Soil Pollution Status for Railroad Depot (철도 차량기지의 토양오염 실태 조사)

  • Railroad is well known for eco-friendly transportation system. But, for past few decades, there might be happened many contamination acts in railway facility sites. Industrial and municipal solid wastes produced to maintain and fix trains were dumped to underground of railroad depot area. To develop and reconstruct this area, we should remediate the contaminated soil and ground water. This study was conducted to evaluate the soil pollution status of railroad depot and propose the optimum remediation processes. Our investigation showed that main pollutants sources were TPH and some heavy metals from the dump site. The surveying results for the soil under rail track and crossing nose areas showed TPH contamination from crossing nose area causing lubricant agent. It could be use and rehabilitate the railroad facility areas to an intended purpose with an application of well designed in-situ and ex-situ remediation processes.

A Study on Expansion of Inland Railway Use For Container Cargo (컨테이너 화물의 내륙철도이용 확대에 관한 연구)

  • Over 80% of Korea's cargo transport relies on public roads. Such over-reliance has created a range of social problems including environmental damage. Korea thus faces an urgent need to establish an alternative mode of cargo transportation. In view of the changing international logistics environment, railway is clearly a superior mode of transport. The prerequisite task today for Korea is to enhance the competitiveness of inland railway by switching to railway and spurring new demand for cargo. This study examines inland railway cargo transport from the demand perspective. Specifically, through the use of a survey, the study identifies key factors influencing the decisions of container shippers regarding the use of railway for cargo transport. The survey responses were statistically tested using Smart PLS structural equation modeling. The results indicate that attitude toward railway use had the strongest influence on choice, while the key variable affecting attitude formation was cost.

  • In this paper, I illustrate the some examples of socio-economic influence of railroad in Korea. The Korean railroad has been running for 109 years now since it started operation in 1899. The opening of railroad in Korea has been affecting influence in our society not only transportation but also infrastructure building and the formation of new cities which they were built along the rail network like Daejeon. I have come up with some examples, which railroad has affected the in our society. For example, the changes of transport route from road to railroad, emerging the new cities, industries and culture. This paper contributes to look over the various function of railroad in Korea. Moreover it will be compared with Japan's railroad influence in his country. It gives us a peculiarity and universality in railroad's function including colonial policy
