The guideline for railway noise mapping is notificated in the administration law for noise/vibration which is announced by the ministry of environment, Korea. Here input parameters for the railway sound sources are proposed for each prediction models. In case of the application of the vehicle characteristics it is suggested to choose "0(%)" for the disc brake parameter. However new trains have been in revenue service since the announcement of the guideline, an investigation of the effect of the input parameters of the foreign railway prediction models on the prediction results of korean railway systems are needed. In this paper the sound prediction results are analyzed with a focus on the input parameters such as disc brake percentage, rail roughness, rail joints. Schall03 is used for the railway noise prediction which has been using most frequently in Korea. The results are shown and discussed.

We use largely two methods, how to control the noise of the KTX, they are the passive noise control method and the active noise control method. The passive noise control has been used in a variety of ways since the KTX opening day, but lately it has shown the technical limitations by being dropped sharply. So, it is getting important to conduct the research about ANC that is able to reduce the ambient noise when the environmental-factor changes and be installed easily. To reduce a three-dimensional closed-space sound field like a car of a high-speed rail is hard to do using single channel ANC control system. Therefore we have to model the paths of the noise exactly for reducing the noise. And the control speakers and the error mics should be designed for optimal position. In this paper, we designed the transfer functions for modeling the noise paths under the influence of the distance between control speakers & error mics and primary noise speaker in TEST-BED where there is modeled as actual interior of KTX. We have made the modeling and the simulations of interior environment of KTX car by using three frequency bands of 120Hz, 280Hz, 360Hz. After the modeling, we compared the performance of active noise control and also we analyzed what to affect with difference in distance. After comparing of the performance using Pure Tone 120Hz, 280Hz, 360Hz at each modeling and then we simulated ANC for KTX's interior noise which we measured really and analyzed.
The down town passage segment which follows in the straight line which follows recently in high speed of the railway and rail construction is increasing. Also according to quality of life improvement of the citizens whom follows in national income increase the resident demand only becomes larger day by day about a environmental creation which is comfortable and house environmental etc. Demand of the citizens is not the problem of today yesterday about like this railway mean of transportation and with the fact that continuously will increase in future. This study is to predict and reduce railway noise from the conventional PSC-beam bridges which passes through urban areas under the government strateges of speed and weight increases of railway. The purpose of this study is to recommend a proper noise prediction method for designing pleasant roadside environments. The railway design including existing line reconstructions should minimize curved alignment to increase train speed to 180~200km/hr under the government's long-term planing such as the 4th Comprehensive National Development Plan (2000~2020), National Intermodal Transportation Plan (2000~2019) and National Railroad Network Establishment Plan (2006~2015), Since the PSC-beam bridges are mainly used for bridge structures urban areas, noise measurements were performed and analyzed to recommend the noise prediction methods for each type and speed of train respectively.

This paper studies the problem of secure information exchange between two sources via multiple relays in the presence of an eavesdropper. To this end, we propose a relay beamforming scheme, i.e., relay beamforming with artificial noise (RBwA), where the relay beamforming vector and the artificial noise vector are jointly designed to maintain the received signal-to-interference-ratio (SINR) at the two sources over a predefined Quality of Service (QoS) threshold while limiting the received SINR at the eavesdropper under a predefined secure threshold. For comparison, the relay beamforming without artificial noise (RBoA) is also considered. We formulate two optimization problems for the two schemes, where our goal is to seek the optimal beamforming vector to minimize the total power consumed by relay nodes such that the secrecy of the information exchange between the two sources can be protected. Since both optimization problems are nonconvex, we solve them by semidefinite program (SDP) relaxation theory. Simulation results show that, via beamforming design, physical layer secrecy of two-way relay networks can be greatly improved and our proposed RBwA outperforms the RBoA in terms of both low power consumption and low infeasibility rate.

The environmental impact of the KEPCO 765-kV transmission line was studied using a full scale test line in order to develop the design technology. Therefore this paper describes an environmental design summary of the audible noise, hum noise, wind noise, radio interference, TV interference and electric field measurement from the KEPRI 765-kV double circuit transmission test line with a bundle of $6-480mm^2$ conductors per phase. The analysis of the test results shows that 6-Rail and 6-Cardinal conductors bundle satisfy the audible noise criterion & TV interference under the stable rainy weather condition and the radio interference level under the fair weather. And the other items are also agreed with the design level criterion for KEPCO 765-kV transmission line.
Generally, sound power is one of the most significant factors to predict and assess noise from sound sources. However, many researchers developed indirect methods to calculate the sound power with noise level because it is impossible to measure sound power directly while a train is running. In this paper, we propose a method to estimate sound power generated due to wheel/rail interaction and propulsive equipment from the measurement of noise emitted from rolling stocks and verify the estimation method by comparing with the other sound power estimation formula. We also analyze the sound power of rolling stocks which are operating in domestic lines such as EMU, Mukoonghwa, KTX using the method proposed in this paper.

Vibration caused by railroad vehicle including subway train running raises a lot of problems to the neighboring buildings. Therefore lots of methods to isolate the railway vibration have been studied and practically applied to sites. As one of them, specially designed vibration isolation device was installed in the some section of Seoul subway. This device is installed between the rail and track slab. Because the process of installation is relatively simple, this method can be applied to the existing railways in servicing. We measured the vibration and noise to check the effectiveness of this device before and after the installation. The result showed that the vibration level of the slab and platform was reduced to 7 - 10 dB. Expecially high frequency component was reduced to a large amount. From this result, we can conclude that these kind of devices are useful to the reduction of the railroad vibration, expecially the high frequency vibration which can cause structure born noise.
Because many people suffer from physical and mental damage caused by the noise created by transportation infrastructure, including road traffic, rail, and aircraft, developed countries have conducted research on predicting and solving the impact to human health from being exposed to transportation noise. Therefore, this study suggests a fundamental plan to assess the health impact of transportation noise on the basis of domestic and foreign prediction results regarding the health impact of transportation noise. The domestic and foreign exposure-response expressions, including the noise index and the health impact indicator of annoyance and sleep disturbance, are compared, and it is found that domestic individuals show a more sensitive response to transportation noise. Based on domestic and foreign research, and a case study regarding the health impact of transportation noise, a fundamental plan to assess the health impact of transportation noise comprises the preparation of objective assessment standards through the improvement of exposure-response models, and the establishment of reduction measures which can improve the quality of the transportation noise environment.

It is faced with the necessity of multi roll forming process of the ball slide rail which is made by adding the separate manufacturing processes, piercing, bending, trimming, to the roll forming process of a continuous plastic deformation, to improve the quality. However, the vibration and noise of the press machine in this process leads to the quality degradation of slide rail manufactured in this process. In this study, the roll was designed considering the optimal strain rates by the roll forming program with finite element method. And to estimate the static stability of the multi process the Von-Mises stress and deformation on the press was calculated with a structural analysis program. Also, to avoid driving systems in the resonance region their natural frequencies in the 1st and 2nd mode were calculated through the modal analysis. To verify its dynamic stability improvement the magnitudes of noise and vibration in the existing and studied system were compared using a microphone and accelerometers. And the widths and surface roughnesses of the rails which had been produced in the existing and studied process were measured. Therefore, it is known that multi roll forming process is stable in the analytical and experimental study.
The surroundings around subway are becoming more lively for project of CBD (an redevelopment project), however vibrations which are made through passing train cold spread buildings around. The structure-borne noise could be generated at the same time that makes people including developers and th citizens have negative viewpoint on railway. Especially, Seoul Metro 1-4 lines ar built alongside the road nearby houses and business district. That could make plenty of public resentments because of the structure-borne noise. Seoul Metro should make active alternative plans for their future urban environment projects which will be conducted. The case was Railway Facility which were conducted to minimize structure-borne noise from sharp curved track section (4 line, Sinyongsan~Ichon, R 250m). The section is adjacent to house district as near as 6.6m related with pusing international city project, the 4th urban environment project around international building, near Yongsan station. The interval of sleepers would be downsized in half with breaking existing case, and pad stiffness is reduced 4 ton from 10 ton. That makes structure-borne noise minimized because of vibrations are lowered about 19.1-23.0db. The structure above has remained for a year and a half from October, 2008, and had not any trouble to perform excellence with 80million ton rail accumulated tonnage.
