쐐기형 Rail Clamp의 하중분석 (Load analysis of Wedge type Rail Clamp)

  • In this paper, we design a wedge type rail clamp which can protect container crane from wind with constant clamping force regardless of the operating period. When we design wedge type rail clamp. it is important to determine the angle of wedge and analyze a contact condition of roller and wedge so that we might develop a rail clamp with variable capacity. Therefore, this paper suggest a process to decide wedge angles within feasible range which could be obtained using load analysis and FEA of wedge type rail clamp.

  • The rail clamp is the device to prevent the crane slips along rails from the wind blast as well as to locate a container crane in the set position in operating mode. In this study we conduct the research for the sliding distance of rail clamp and the proper position of supporter with respect to the wedge angle in the wedge type rail clamp. The sliding distance to display the clamping force of the jaw pad corresponding to the design wind speed criteria is determined by the total displacement of the rail clamp at the roller center and the wedge angle. And the supporter is the device to prevent the overload which is applied on each part of the rail clamp by wind speed increment, because a clamping force is generated by the sliding of the wedge due to the wind. Accordingly the position of the supporter to prevent the overload is determined by analyzing the forces applied to the rail clamp. In order to analyze the sliding distance and the proper position of supporter with respect to the wedge angle as the wind speed is 40m/s, 5-kinds of wedge angles, such as 2, 4, 6, 8, $10^{\circ}$, were adopted as the design parameter.

  • The rail clamp is the device to prevent the crane slips along a rail from the wind blast as well as to locate a container crane in the set position during an operating mode. In this study we conduct the research for determining the proper position of supporter to prevent the overload applied to the rail clamp with respect to the wedge angle in the wedge type rail clamp. The friction force between the jaw pad and the rail to prevent that the crane slips along a rail, when the wind blows, is generated fly the rail-directional wind load. Accordingly the proper position of the supporter to prevent the overload is determined fly analyzing the forces applied to the rail clamp in the wedge working stage. In order to analyze the effect of the wedge angle on the position of supporter, 5-kinds of wedge angles, such as 2, 4, 6, 8, $10^{\circ}$, were adapted as the design parameter, and the wind speed of 40m/s was adapted as the design wind speed criteria.

  • In this study we analyze operation principle of wedge type rail clamp using in the harbor and when wind force applies to container crane, we calculate deformation in each part of rail clamp. As a result of calculation, we will design rail clamp supporter that forbid overload to be applied at rail clamp according to adjust climbing wedge distance of roller. It would be adapted various container capacity and wind velocity.

When we design wedge type rail clamp, it is important to determine the angle of wedge and analyze a contact condition of roller and wedge so that we might develop a wedge type rail clamp for parking devices of port cargo working system with variable capacity.   • In this paper, we design a wedge type rail-clamp which can protect container crane from wind with constant clamping force regardless of the operating period. When we design wedge type rail clamp, it is important to determine the weight for locker to descent smoothly with an initial clamping force of rail and pad. Therefor, this paper suggest a process to decide a wright within proper range which could be obtained using FEA of wedge type rail clamp.

  • The rail clamp is very important device to prevent that a container crane slips along a rail due to the wind blast as well as to locate the crane in the set position during an operating mode. Recently, the design wind speed criteria were intensified from the wind speed of 16m/s to 35m/s during an operating mode, and from 50m/s to 75m/s during a stowed mode in Korea, according to the 'Inspection Criteria for Facilities and Equipments in Port' reformed after typhoon 'Maemi'. In order to design the wedge type rail clamp for the reinforced design wind speed criteria of 35m/s, we carried out the finite element analysis of the rail clamp with respect to the wedge angle, and analyzed the relationship between the wedge angle and the sliding distance of the rail clamp.

  • 쐐기형 레일클램프는 초기에는 작은 압착력으로 레일을 압착하다가 바람이 불면 쐐기작용에 의해 큰 압착력으로 레일을 압착하는 구조를 가지고 있다. 이 때 쐐기작용을 위해 레일클램프는 레일을 따라 이동하게 되는데, 만약 지지대를 설치하지 않으면 밀림거리가 증가하여 구조물을 파괴에 이르게 하는 과부하가 발생하게 되므로 이를 방지하기 위한 지지대를 적절히 설치하여야 한다. 이러한 지지대의 적정위치는 초기압착력과 쐐기각에 따라서 결정되므로, 본 연구에서는 이러한 초기압착력과 지지대의 적정위치사이의 관계에 대하여 살펴보기 위하여 5가지 쐐기각을 설계변수로 하여 유한요소해석을 수행하였다.

  • In cargo-working, it unavoidably happens that the quay crane slip along the rail and the container move from side to side. Especially, they involve a lot of risk in bad weather. The rail clamp is a mooring device to prevent that the quay crane slips along the rail due to bad weather or the wind blast while the quay crane do the cargo-working And it will play a greater role in port container terminal integration and automation To design the wedge type rail clamp, it is very important to determine the wedge angle. In this study, we expect that the design wind speed of the quay crane will change over 16m/s. Assuming that the design wind speed is 40m/s, we determined the proper wedge angle of the wedge type rail clamp for the 50ton class quay crane.
