  • In this study, texture feature analysis (TFA) algorithm to automatic recognition of liver disease suggests by utilizing computed tomography (CT), by applying the algorithm computer-aided diagnosis (CAD) of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) design. Proposed the performance of each algorithm was to comparison and evaluation. In the HCC image, set up region of analysis (ROA, window size was $40{\times}40$ pixels) and by calculating the figures for TFA algorithm of the six parameters (average gray level, average contrast, measure of smoothness, skewness, measure of uniformity, entropy) HCC recognition rate were calculated. As a result, TFA was found to be significant as a measure of HCC recognition rate. Measure of uniformity was the most recognition. Average contrast, measure of smoothness, and skewness were relatively high, and average gray level, entropy showed a relatively low recognition rate of the parameters. In this regard, showed high recognition algorithms (a maximum of 97.14%, a minimum of 82.86%) use the determining HCC imaging lesions and assist early diagnosis of clinic. If this use to therapy, the diagnostic efficiency of clinical early diagnosis better than before. Later, after add the effective and quantitative analysis, criteria research for generalized of disease recognition is needed to be considered.

  • Purpose: Accurate clinical evaluation of the alignment of the calcaneus relative to the tibia in the coronal plane is essential in the evaluation and treatment of hindfoot pathologic condition. Previously described standard anteroposterior, lateral, and oblique radiographic methods of the foot or ankle do not demonstrate alignment of the tibia relation to the calcaneus in the coronal plane. The purpose of this study was to introduce hindfoot coronal alignment view. Material : 1) Both feet were imaged simultaneously on an elevated, radiolucent foot stand equipment. 2) Both feet stood on a radiolucent platform with equal weight on both feet. 3) Both feet are located foot axis longitudinal perpendicular to the platform. 4) Silhouette tracing around both feet are made, and line is then drawn to bisect the silhouette of the second toe and the outline of the heel. 5) The x-ray beam is angled down approximately $15^{\circ} to $20^{\circ} Result : 1) This image described tibial axis and medial, lateral tuberosity of calcaneus. 2) Calcaneus do not rotated. 3) The view is showed by talotibial joint space. Conclusion: Although computed tomographic and magnetic resonance imaging techniques are capable of demonstrating coronal hindfoot alignment, they lack usefulness in most clinical situations because the foot is imaged in a non-weight bearing position. But hindfoot coronal alignment view is obtained for evaluating position changing of inversion, eversion of the hindfoot and varus, valgus deformity of calcaneus.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the problems of low signal-to-noise ratio(SNR) of single-shot turbo spin echo(SS-TSE) by quantifying numerically decreased signal to noise ratio. Thirty five patients without brain disease underwent diffusion MRI in 3T scanner from July to October in 2015. Single shot echo planar imaging(SS-EPI) which is conventionally used in MRI was taken to compared SS-TSE in SNR of medulla oblongata. As a result, SNR of SS-TSE diffusion(b0=$314.41{\pm}42.96$, b1000=$117.33{\pm}14.04$) is than SS-EPI diffusion(b0=$514.84{\pm}48.97$, b=$208.65{\pm}25.70$) lower in b=0 image(38.9%) and b=1,000 image(43.8%). Thus, diffusion MR using SS-EPI of MS-EPI should be taken for diagnosis of disease in brain stem due to decreased SNR of diffusion using SS-TSE.

  • Single-shot echo planar imaging(SS-EPI) is well established as high sensitivity for ischemic stroke. However, it is prone to susceptibility artifact in brain stem that diminish the image quality. single-shot turbo spin echo(SS-TSE) is a new DWI technique that can reduce susceptibility artifact. Thus, this research was conducted so as to reduce geometric distortion in brain stem by using single-shot turbo spin echo technique. Thirty patients without brain disease underwent diffusion MR on a 3T scanner with SS-EPI and SS-TSE. Obtained images with both sequences were analyzed for geometric distortion and error percentage as well. Image quality in terms of geometric distortion of SS-TSE were found to be significantly better than those for SS-EPI. And error percentage was considerably reduced for 2.4% of b0 image(from 11.1% to 8.7%), 1.2% of b1000 image(from 11.4% to 10.1%), respectively. In summary, diffusion MR using SS-TSE significantly reduce geometric distortion compared to SS-EPI in brain stem and may provide improved diagnostic performance.
