The Flare system is the offshore plant equipment for protecting humans and equipments from high heat radiations of waste gas and oil burning. As Primary equipment of well test systems, the flare system is essential Class(DNV, ABS etc) design certification. Therefore, this paper is introduced to be related to computational analysis of flare system design certification procedure.
The experimental and analytical study was conducted to determine the noise transmission characteristics of acoustically loaded steel plate of rectangular enclosure and to investigate the sound radiation characteristics through out the enclosure. The vibrations of acoustically loaded plate give rise to sound radiations and generate the reverberant space that the sound field exists very close to a vibrating plate. Acoustic transmission loss is measured from the incident intensity into the plate and the transmitted intensity through out the plate. Sound radiation patterns are measured from both acoustic intensity technique and surface intensity technique. Those resultant patterns and vibrational modes are vital in understanding the relations between vibration and noise in the near field out of vibrating plate.

We propose a new technique for sidelobe suppression in orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems. Sidelobe suppression is an essential technique to design OFDM based overlay system. The proposed technique is based on the combination of the multiple choice sequence (MCS) with the conventional windowing of OFDM signal in time domain. The MCS is choosing the one sequence which has lowest power in sidelobes from the produced set of sequences. The main advantage of proposed technique is that it fully utilizes the available bandwidth to transmit data. Simulation results show that by combining MCS with conventional windowing technique, the sidelobes in OFDM system can be significantly reduced
The measurements of X-ray and Gamma-ray Dose Rate have been successfully made by measuring the short circuit current of the Silicon P-N Junction Diode being irradiated. The short circuit current flows when a silicon P-N Junction Diode is irradiated by X-ray of Gammaray radiations due to photovoltaic effect. A brief analysis is given in order to verify the proportionality of a short circuit current to the Dose Rate. Using this method, measurements of X-ray Dose Rate were carried out in the range of 0.05-1600 r/m successfully. The calibration was made by comparing with Victoreen condenser r-meter. Some advantages in this Dose Rate meter over a condenser r-meter were found. One can measure a continous variation of X-ray Dose Rate with this rate meter at the control console of X-ray device.

Thermal performance of test cell of model hot water Ondol house was simulated by equivalence heat resistence and heat capacity method. In this method wall was replaced by two equivalence and one heat capacity. This method enables to simulate the variation of temperature of each element of model house. The effect of pipe diameter, pitch of pipe and with or without consideration of inter-radiation between wall surfaces on the energy consumption rate were investgated. Results show that radiations between the ground surface of room and wall surfaces contribute to the heating of room air by reducing the convection heat loss through the wall surfaces.
With the advance of modern radiation therapy technique, radiation dose conformation and dose distribution have improved dramatically. However, the progress does not completely fulfi ll the goal of cancer treatment such as improved local control or survival. The discordances with the clinical results are from the biophysical nature of photon, which is the main source of radiation therapy in current field, with the lower linear energy transfer to the target. As part of a natural progression, there recently has been a resurgence of interest in particle therapy, specifically using heavy charged particles, because these kinds of radiations serve theoretical advantages in both biological and physical aspects. The Korean government is to set up a heavy charged particle facility in Korea Institute of Radiological & Medical Sciences. This review introduces some of the elementary physics of the various particles for the sake of Korean radiation oncologists' interest.

In this paper, we proposed an inductance loaded small type open-loop travelling wave antenna model for the suitable VHF/UHF frequency bands moisture measurement systems and analyzed its operating characteristics by galerkin's solution method. This antenna model enables to change the oeprating rsonance frequency from the frequency range 150 Mhz to 1.0 Ghz without changing the antenna design dimensions by only varing the load inductance values and it showed the similar operating charcteristics and narrowband resonance characteristics at each resonance frequencies. Also this model showed the uniformly distriubte dpower radiation characteristics above the loop axis and it can effectively suppress the spurious radiations from its narrowband resonance characteristics.

The effect of UV and $^60{Co}$ gamma radiations on the physical and mechanical properties of nylon 6 mono-filaments with different draw ratios has been studied. Specimens were exposed to either up to 25 Mrad of gamma or up to 168 hrs of intense UV irradiation. The results show that nylon mono-filaments exposed to gamma rays, with much higher quantum energy than UV, undergo a larger extent of molecular chain scission. Higher irradiation dose also results in the production of insoluble, macroscopic three-dimensional cross-linked network structure. The amorphous regions with a lower density of cohesive energy (lower molecular orientation) show a higher extent of cross linking reaction whereas amorphous regions with a higher density of cohesive energy (higher orientation) show higher extent of chain scission reaction, irrespective of UV ray or gamma ray irradiation.
Flame transfer function is used to determine the relationship between flow fluctuations and heat release perturbations in a lean premixed gas turbine combustor. The characteristics of flame transfer function are known to depend greatly on flame geometries in addition to other various flow conditions. However, it is not easy to experimentally measure the flame transfer function under various actual combustor operating conditions in terms of time and cost. The current research tries to model the flame transfer function using CFD(Computational Fluid Dynamics). From the results, it is shown that the calculated steady flame geometry can be exactly captured with consideration of the wall heat transfer and radiations. Also, unsteady analysis results show the close characteristics of the flame transfer function to the measured one in both gain and phase.
Calculational models to evaluate radiation doses resulting from the medical use of high energy beta-ray sources are presented. The radioactive sources considered are Sr-90/Y-90 used as ophthalmic applicator, Re-188 used for treating restenosis of coronary artery, and Ho-166 used for treating hepatic tumors. Typical therapeutic situations which might induce relatively high radiation doses the medical person involved were considered to compute by using MCNP-4C Monte Carlo code the radiation doses. The calculation results suggest that for all of the cases considered, the evaluated radiation doses are negligible compared to the dose limits. It is also found that the effect of Bremsstrahlung radiations on the total dose is insignificant, and hence the conventional lead gown is also effective in shielding beta-rays.
