  • This paper presents the basic characteristics of a cutoff cavity-hacked slot antenna, for the application of spacetenna, with a feed post and a parasitic post inserted parallel to the slot. This type of antenna might effectively excite the slot and forcibly resonate the cavity by adding external reactance to the parasitic post. The Galerkin\`s method of moments is used to analyze integral equations for the unknown electric current on each post and electric field in the slot. The value of external reactance for forced resonance is discussed by deriving a determining equation, the current distribution on each post and the radiation patterns are considered. The analysis is in excellent agreement with the experiment for the radiation patterns.

  • Accurate radiation dosimetric characters is very important to determine of dose to a radiotherapeutic patient. Medical linear accelerators have been developed not only its new quality of convenient operation but also electric moderation. It is reliable to measure more detail physical parameter that linac's internal ability. Typically, radiation dosimetric tool is classified ionization chamber, film, thermoluminescence dosimeter, etc. Nowaday, Electronic Portal Imaging Device is smeared in radiation field to verification of treatment region. EPID's image was focused that using both on-line image verification and absolutely minimum absorbed dose during radiotherapy. So, Electronic Portal Imaging was tested for quality evaluation of medical linear accelerator had its pure conditional flash. This study has performed symmetry, Light/Radiation field congruence, and energy check, geometry difference on wedge filter using a liquid filled ion chamber (EPID). Prior to irradiated on EPID, high energy photon beam is checked with ion chamber. Using these results more convenient dosimetric method is accomplished by EPID that taken digital image. Medical image is acquired with EPID too. Therefore, EPID can be analyzed by numerical information for what want to see or get more knowledge for natural human condition.

  • In this paper, we propose a new near-field reader antenna for 900 MHz RFID. The proposed antenna consists the micro-strip antenna with the periodic structure. The overall dimension of the antenna is $313mm{\times}152mm{\times}14mm$. The antenna has the uniform E-field distribution in near field region and the heart-shaped radiation beam pattern (Peak gain=-2 dBi). The transmitted power range is from 17 dBm to 23 dBm. We focus on minimizing the detected error by suppressing the reflected power from the metal, which is attached to the surface by tag, and by reducing the transmitted power from tag.

  • This study analyzed the Vulnerability of Network Communication devices when IEMI is coupled with the Network System. An Ultra Wide Band Generator (180 kV, 700 MHz) was used as the IEMI source. The EUTs are the Switch Hub and Workstation, which are used to configure the network system. The network system was monitored through the LAN system configuration, to confirm a malfunction of the network device. The results of the experiment indicate that a malfunction of the network occurs as the electric field increases. The data loss rate increases proportionally with increasing radiating time. In the case of the Switch Hub, the threshold electric field value was 10 kV/m for all conditions used in this experiment. The threshold point causing malfunction was influenced only by the electric field value. The correlation between the threshold point and pulse repetition rate was not found. However, in case of the Workstation, it was found that as the pulse repetition rate increases, the equipment responds weakly and the threshold value decreases. To verify the electrical coupling of the EUT by IEMI, current sensors were used to measure the PCB line inside the EUT and network line coupling current. As a result of the measurement, it can be inferred that when the coupling current due to IEMI exceeds the threshold value, it flows through the internal equipment line, causing a malfunction and subsequent failure. The results of this study can be applied to basic data for equipment protection, and effect analysis of intentional electromagnetic interference.

  • Plane wave scattering from a spherical resonator is calculated by solving the combined field integral equation (CFIE) with Rao-Wilton-Glisson (RWG) basis functions and the moment method. The calculations show that magnetic and electric dipoles are found at resonant modes. These characteristics are confirmed by radiation patterns in the far field region. In addition, an analysis of a magnetodielectric sphere is discussed.

  • We describe a novel method of scanning probe nanofabrication using a AFM(atomic force microscopy) tip with assistance of Femtosecond laser pulses to enhance fabrication capability. Illumination of the AFM tip with ultra-short light pulses induces a strong electric field between the tip and the metal surface, which allows removing metal atoms from the surface by means of field evaporation. Quantum simulation reveals that the field evaporation is triggered even en air when the induced electric field reaches the level of a few volts per angstrom, which is low enough to avoid unwanted thermal damages on most metal surfaces. For experimental validation, a Ti: sapphire Femtosecond pulse laser with 10 fs pulse duration at 800 nm center wavelength was used with a tip coated with gold to fabricate nanostructures on a thin film gold surface. Experimental results demonstrate that fine structures with critical dimensions less than ${\sim}10nm$ can be successfully made with precise control of the repetition rate of Femtosecond laser pulses.

  • The climatological characteristics of the polar ionosphere is examined in terms of the ionospheric conductance and electric field. For this purpose, 109 days of measurements from the Sondrestrom incoherent scatter radar are utilized. By combining these two quantities, it is possible to deduce the overhead ionospheric current distributions. The ionospheric current density thus obtained is compared with the corresponding ground magnetic disturbance. Also examined is the effect of the field-aligned current on the ground magnetic disturbance, particularly on the D component Several interesting climatological characteristics about the ionosphere over the Sonderstrom are apparent from this study. (1) The conductance distribution is mainly due to solar EUV radiation during day-time On the other hand, the conductance distribution during the night-time is very low. (2) The conductance distribution one. the polar cap region during the day-time is controlled mostly by the solar EUV radiation, while it is extremely low during night-time wish the Hall and Pedersen conductances being 1.6 and 1.2 siemen, respectively (3) The region of the maximum N-S electric field tend to locate in the dayside sector. The E-W component of the electric field is stronger than that over Chatanika (4) The E-W auroal inospheric current (J/sub E/) is more important in the sunlit hemisphere than the night hemisphere. And a strong southward current is noted in the prenoon sector (5) There is a significant correlation between the overhead ionospheric current and the simultaneously observed ground magnetic disturbance. However, the assumption for the infinite sheet current approximation is far from realistic, underestimating the current density. And the correlation between ${\Delta}H$ and J/sub E/ is higher than the one between ${\Delta}D$ and J/sub N/ , indicating that field-aligned current affects significantly ${\Delta}D$.

  • All improved method of analysis is developed to determine the chsrateristics of a dielectric antenna of arbitrary shape. The analysis is based on scattering principles. The concept of polariaztion current and charge densities is incorporated into the Stratton-Chu formula and un integral equation is established for the electric field intensities in the dielectric. A new technique involving an equivalent spherical cell is developed to solve the integral equatioil numerically. The radiation characterstics of an omnidirectional dielectric antellna are determined based on the near field obtained by this volume cell technique.

  • This paper presents the detailed statistics on radiation field signatures associated with multiple-intracloud lightning discharges. A transient signal recording system was used to measure the electric and magnetic fields produced by lightning flashes. The measurements were made in th summers of 1995 through 1999, and the location of the observation station was in Inchon on the coast of the Yellow Sea in Korea(37$^{\circ}$25'N, 126$^{\circ}$ 39'E). Most of lightning flashes typically contains between two and five strokes. The individual intracloud stork radiation fields were the bipolar pulse. On the average, the ratio of the peak of the second stroke to the first stroke peak was 75.1$\pm$40.1% for the negative, and a fraction of the subsequent stroke peaks were higher than the first stroke peak. The greater the number of the subsequent stroke order, less time separations between strokes were produced. The mean of the depth of the dip was 81.2$\pm$27.9% for the positive polarity and 75.9$\pm$24.4% for the negative. The depth of the dip increased for the positive bipolar pulses and decreased for the negative as the number of the stroke order increased.
