  • This study was conducted on 85 non-racing pleasure horses raised in Busan race park of Korea Racing Authority to investigate the prevalence of stereotypic behavioral problems in horses. the observation had been continued from March to October of 2010, and the study animals included warm-bloods, Jeju ponies and donkeys. Although there was no temperament problem detected, a wide range of well-known stable vices were observed in 15 horses. The most frequently observed stereotype was cribbing (8.2%), and it was followed by weaving (1.2%), biting (1.2%), eating too fast (1.2%), pawing (1.2%) and scraping the teeth on something (1.2%) with the equal prevalence rate. These behavioral disorders were only detected in warm-bloods, while those were absent in Jeju ponies and donkeys. In addition, primary behavioral disorders were more dominant than mimicking behaviors.

  • The cute. race of CV(constant velocity) Joint is an important load-supporting automotive part, which transmits torque between the transmission gear box and driving wheel. The outer race is difficult to forge because its shape is very complicated and the required dimensional tolerances are very small. The forged CV Joint investigated in this study has six inner ball grooves requiring high operational accuracy. Therefore, the precise measurement of forged CV Joint is very important to guarantee the sound operation without noise and abnormal wear. In this study, unique in-situ measuring system designed specifically to measure the dimensional accuracy of six inner ball grooves of CV joint has been developed and implemented in shop environments. Newly developed system shows high measurement accuracy with simple operational sequence.

  • The grinding is a popular process for studying constant velocity joint and process in automobile industry. In this study, The study gives the data of wheel type and grinding of inner race is developed. As a result I obtained the data of grinding conditions makes good surface roughness get a grinding conditions. The grinding characteristics and conditions of inner race were investigated with respect to grinding feed, cutting depth, grinding time. The results were suddenly increased and the detailed surfaces were extremely obtained. Grinding condition was big more affected by grinding time, grinding speed and grinding depth.

  • Media representations of race have attempted to contain blackness by packaging and commodifying it to reflect and affect preconceptions and prejudices of dominant culture. From the early beginnings of blackface minstrelsy as entertainment form in the $19^{th}$ century, representations of African Americans in popular culture and mainstream media have been closely associated with the notion of performance. The performative nature of racial representations is situated within the discursive struggle over what it meant to be Black, or what it meant to be labeled and portrayed as Black in American culture. This essay discusses four films that contain performances of "blackness" that assemble race and gender in complex configurations: Bamboozled (Spike Lee, 2000), Girl 6 (Spike Lee, 1996), Big Momma's House (Raja Gosnell, 2000), and White Chicks (Keenen Ivory Wayans, 2004). I explore how the performative nature of "blackness" is emphasized, thematized, and problematized in these films through the physicality of corporeal figures that embody the close link between race and gender identities. Once we are cognizant of the fact that race and gender are fabricated cultural constructs and performative acts, we can recognize that notions of "blackness" and "femininity" are not naturalized or essentialist, but open to recontextualization and revision.

  • The chromosome number of myoga ginger (Zingiber mioga (Thunb.) Roscoe: Zingiberaceae) has been reported as 2n = 22 for Chinese plants and 2n = 55 for Japanese plants. We checked the chromosome number of Z. mioga in plants collected in Jeollabuk-do and Jeollanam-do, Korea, and counted 2n = 44, the first report of this number for the species. As the basic chromosome number of Z. mioga is thought to be x = 11, Z. mioga plants in China, Korea, and Japan appear to be diploids, tetraploids, and pentaploids, respectively. In finding the tetraploid race of Z. mioga in Korea, we can hypothesize that the pentaploid race in Japan is derived through the fertilization of reduced gametes of the diploid race and unreduced gametes of the tetraploid race.

  • This paper aims to reveal how the fundamental assumptions informing race and gender issues in contemporary society have remained relatively unchanged by examining how such issues pervade Octavia Butler's Kindred. By exploring the protagonist of the novel, Dana's actions in her present (1976 Los Angeles) and the antebellum past in addition to her maternal ancestor, Alice's actions, a clear picture of contemporary and antebellum views of race and gender is provided. Particularly interesting are the reactions of the characters to Dana's and Alice's interracial relationships and the circumstances on the Weylin plantation. By juxtaposing the two times, a deeper commentary on the lack of fundamental change in the present treatment of such issues is then revealed. Furthermore, a potential path to addressing this lack of change is suggested by Butler through Dana and Kevin's successful interracial relationship.

  • The problem of classifying of age, gender, and race images still poses challenges. Despite deep and machine learning strides, convolutional neural networks (CNNs) remain pivotal in addressing these issues. This paper introduces a novel CNN-based approach for accurate and efficient age, gender, and race classification. Leveraging CNNs with residual blocks, our method enhances learning while minimizing computational complexity. The model effectively captures low-level and high-level features, yielding improved classification accuracy. Evaluation of the diverse 'fair face' dataset shows our model achieving 56.3%, 94.6%, and 58.4% accuracy for age, gender, and race, respectively.

  • Powdery mildew caused by the obligate biotrophic fungus Podosphaera xanthii poses a serious threat to melon (Cucumis melo L.) production worldwide. Frequent occurrences of the disease in different regions of South Korea hints at the potential existence of several races which need to be identified. The races of five isolates collected from different powdery mildew affected regions were identified based on the pathogenicity tests of these isolates on eight known differential melon cultigens namely, SCNU1154, PMR 45, WMR 29, PMR 5, MR-1, PI124112, Edisto 47 and PI414723. None of the isolates have shown same disease responses to those of the known races tested in this study and in previous reports on these identical differential melon cultigens. This indicates that the tested uncharacterized isolates are new races. Among the isolates, the isolates from Hadong, Buyeo, Yeongam and Gokseong have shown same pathogenicity indicating the possibility of these isolates being one new race, for which we propose the name 'race KN1'. The isolate of Janghueng have also shown unique disease response in the tested differential melon cultigens and hence, we identified it as another new race with a proposed name 'race KN2'. Report of these new races will be helpful in taking effective control measures in prevalent regions and for future breeding programs aimed at developing varieties that are resistant to these race(s).
