  • Hydrodynamic moments produced by the rolling oscillation on the free surface and the associated swaying force were exactly calculated by Ursell-Tasai method for the cylinders with Kim's chine form sections($a_1,\;a_7$). The coefficient of the added moment of inertia $K_{\varphi^{\tau}}$, the progressive wave height ratio $\bar{A}$, the coefficient of swaying forces $K_{RS}$, ${\alpha}_{RS}$ of rolling oscillations are shown in the several figures. The results of the computation were compared with those of lewis form sections. It is concluded that the effect of the section form on the added moment of inertia is significant for the cylinder with the section of same beam-draft ratio and sectional area coefficient, on the other hand, a little effect appears on the wave damping.

  • Total 144 quadrupole magnets are installed in PLS. The magnets are connected in series with groups of two or 24. Each group is powered by a high-precision constant-current DC power supply. For the purpose of the beam based alignment of beam position monitors in the PLS, it is necessary to adjust the current of each quadrupole independently. To achieve this, a high current shunt regulator is designed. It can shunt a maximum 50 A of the quadrupole magnet current. The shunt regulator is programmable and the current amplitude can be varied linearly with a 12-bit resolution. Power transistors are used in the current shunt regulator. The operation of transistors is in linear region. The RS232C protocol is used for remote control and status report of the shunt regulator to the main control centre of the PLS. Preliminary result indicates that the calibration accuracy of the beam position monitor can be achievable in less than $10{\mu}m$.

  • Solution processed Resistive random access memory (ReRAM)은 간단한 공정 과정, 고집적도, 저렴한 가격, 대면적화 플라즈마 데미지 최소화 등의 장점으로 차세대 비휘발성 메모리로 써 많은 관심을 받고 있으며, 주로 high-k 물질인 HfOx, TiOx, ZnO 가 이용 된다. IGZO와 ZTO와 같은 산화물 반도체는 높은 이동도, 대면적화, 넓은 밴드갭으로 인하여 투명한 장점으로 LCDs (Liquid crystal displays)에 이용 가능하며, 최근에는 IGZO와 ZTO에서 Resistive Switching (RS) 특성을 확인한 논문이 보고되면서 IGZO와 ZTO를 ReRAM의 switching medium와 TFT의 active material로써 동시에 활용하는 것에 많은 관심을 받고 있다. 이와 같은 산화물 반도체는 flat panel display 회로에 TFT와 ReRAM의 active layer로써 집적가능 하며 systems-on-panels (SOP)에 적용 가능하다. 하지만 IGZO 보다는 ZTO가 In과 Ga을 포함하지 않기 때문에 저렴하다. 그러므로 IGZO를 대신하는 물질로 ZTO가 각광 받고 있다. 본 실험에서는 ZTO film에 Al을 doping하여 메모리 특성을 평가하였다. 실험 방법으로는 p-type Si에 습식산화를 통하여 SiO2를 300 nm 성장시킨 기판을 사용하였다. 그리고 Electron beam evaporator를 이용하여 Ti를 10 nm, Pt를 100 nm 증착 한다. 용액은 Zn와 Tin의 비율을 1:1로 고정한 후 Al의 비율을 0, 0.1, 0.2의 비율로 용액을 각각 제작하였다. 이 용액을 이용하여 Pt 위에 spin coating방법을 이용하여 1000 rpm 10초, 6000 rpm 30초의 조건으로 AZTO (Al-ZnO-Tin-Oxide) 박막을 증착한 뒤, solvent 및 불순물 제거를 위하여 $250^{\circ}C$의 온도로 30분 동안 열처리를 진행하였다. 이후 Electron beam evaporator를 이용하여 top electrode인 Ti를 100 nm 증착하였다. 제작된 메모리의 전기적 특성은 HP 4156B semiconductor parameter analyzer를 이용하여 측정하였다. 측정 결과, AZTO (0:1:1, 0.1:1:1, 0.2:1:1)를 이용하여 제작한 ReRAM에서 RS특성을 얻었으며 104 s이상의 신뢰성 있는 data retention특성을 확인하였다. 그리고 Al의 비율이 증가할수록 on/off ratio가 증가하고 endurance 특성이 향상되는 것을 확인하였다. 결론적으로 Al을 doping함으로써 ZTO film의 메모리 특성을 향상 시켰으며 AZTO film을 메모리와 트랜지스터의 active layer로써 활용 가능할 것으로 기대된다.

Manufacturing and Characteristic Evaluation of Free space Optical Communication Devices in 5G Mobile Base Stations for Emergency Disaster Response (긴급재난 대응용 5G 이동 기지국을 위한 대기공간 광통신 장치의 제작과 특성평가)

  • In this paper, a free space optical communication device that can be used in a mobile base station of several km or less was fabricated and its characteristics were investigated. To overcome the loss due to atmospheric transmission, an optical fiber amplifier (EDFA) with an output of 23 dBm or more was used. In order to increase the focusing speed and miniaturization of the laser beam, an optical lens was manufactured, and a transmission lens was designed to have beam divergence within the range of 1.5 to 1.8 [mrad]. A PT module that controls PAN/TILT was fabricated in order to reduce pointing errors and effective automatic alignment between transceiver devices. In this study, Reed-Solomon (RS) code was used to maintain the transmission quality above a certain level. It was manufactured to be able to communicate at a wireless distance of 300m in a weather situation with visibility of 300m. For performance measurement, it was measured using BERT and eye pattern analyzer, and it was confirmed that BER can be maintained at 2.5Gbps.

  • The purpose of this study was to research the property change of acrylic resins depending on the induced-beam change and research the improved physical property of dry-heat and microwave-cured dental place acrylic resin in order to develop the acrylic resins with the optimum characteristic. As a result of observing flexural rigidity, hardness and color difference, the dry-heat-cured specimens of Vertex RS and Paladent 20 showed ideal property at 5, 15, and 25 kGy irradiation. The microwave-cured specimens of Vertex RS and Paladent 20 showed ideal property at 5 kGy irradiation. The correlation analysis showed a positive correlation among ARD, flexural rigidity (0 418), E coefficient (0.675) and Barcol hardness (0 588). The radiation cure technology is helpful for relieving the contamination caused by the manufacture of polymer composite. It can significantly contribute to the fusion of ultra violet cure technology and nano technology and the improvement of mechanical property without giving effect to the workability of polymer.

Crystallization Behavior and Electrical Properties of IZTO Thin Films Fabricated by Ion-Beam Sputtering (이온빔 스퍼터링으로 증착한 IZTO 박막의 결정화 거동과 전기적 특성 분석)

  • Ion-beam sputtering (IBS) was used to deposit semiconducting IZTO (indium zinc tin oxide) thin films onto heavily-doped Si substrates using a sintered ceramic target with the nominal composition In0.4Zn0.5Sn0.1O1.5, which could work as a channel layer for oxide TFT (oxide thin film transistor) devices. The crystallization behavior and electrical properties were examined for the films in terms of deposition parameters, i.e. target tilt angle and substrate temperature during deposition. The thickness uniformity of the films were examined using a stylus profilometer. The observed difference in electrical properties was not related to the degree of crystallization but to the deposition temperature which affected charge carrier concentration (n), electrical resistivity (ρ), sheet resistance (Rs), and Hall mobility (μH) values of the films.

A Pseudo-Random Beamforming Technique for Time-Synchronized Mobile Base Stations with GPS Signal

  • This paper proposes a pseudo-random beamforming technique for time-synchronized mobile base stations (BSs) for multi-cell downlink networks which have mobility. The base stations equipped with multi-antennas and mobile stations (MSs) are time-synchronized based on global positioning system (GPS) signals and generate a number of transmit beamforming matrix candidates according to the predetermined pseudo-random pattern. In addition, MSs generate receive beamforming vectors that correspond to the beam index number based on the minimum mean square error (MMSE) using transmit beamforming vectors that make up a number of transmit beamforming matrices and wireless channel matrices from BSs estimated via the reference signals (RS). Afterward, values of received signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR) with regard to all transmit beamforming vectors are calculated, and the resulting values are then feedbacked to the BS of the same cells along with the beam index number. Each of the BSs calculates each of the sum-rates of the transmit beamforming matrix candidates based on the feedback information and then transmits the calculated results to the BS coordinator. After this, optimum transmit beamforming matrices, which can maximize a sum-rate of the entire cells, are selected at the BS coordinator and informed to the BSs. Finally, data signals are transmitted using them. The simulation results verified that a sum-rate of the entire cells was improved as the number of transmit beamforming matrix candidates increased. It was also found that if the received SINR values and beam index numbers are feedbacked opportunistically from each of the MSs to the BSs, not only nearly the same performance in sum-rate with that of applying existing feedback techniques could be achieved but also an amount of feedback was significantly reduced.

  • In this paper, the theoretical method of measuring the tunnel convergence and underground displacement, the objective indices of assessing safety for tunnel construction, using the fiber optic sensor is studied by developing the program to automatically measure them. The model test of Con'c beam is conducted to evaluate reliability of the fiber optic sensor. Furthermore, using the RS232 communication protocol as well as Visual C# and Visual C++, the programming tools, the program was developed to detect automatically the measured value of the fiber optic sensor, calculate the tunnel convergence and underground displacement, predict the deformed shape of the tunnel, and evaluate loosening zone due to the tunnel excavation.

  • Many engineers find the way of improving the old building's structural behavior in the remodeling project which is performed using artificial openings for merging two houses. This test was performed to verify the characteristics of coupling beams according to the shape of the openings. One of test specimen has rectangle shape and the other was made by the circle shaped opening and one has coupling member only as slabs. Additionally, three specimens which have openings have 23% ratio in opening area to total wall area. Consequently, solid type which have no opening area shows shear failure. In the case of CW-RBS which have rectangular shaped opening, cracks are developed in coupling beam significantly. And CW-CS which has circular opening failed in shear showing development of diagonal cracks at wall toes and wall mid-height. It is thought that degradation of the wall strength is under the control of the opening shape and coupling beam-wall connection area.
