  • In oriental medicine, 'Mack' is the most important medical method of human body. From Wangsukhwa's "Mackkyung" in Jin dynasty to "mackjinki" in modern technology, medical use of mack is so wide. Over the years, many 'pulsation' books had published. Among them, Koyangsaeng's "ChanDoMackKyul" had an influence on many doctors. But also many doctor criticized his book for the absence of orthodoxy. In the middle of chosun era, Hur jun published "Chan Do Bang Ron Mack Kyul Gip Seong". "Chan Do Bang Ron Mack Kyul Gip Seong" had been used from the beginning to the end of the Chosun Dynasty. "Chan Do Bang Ron Mack Kyul Gip Seong" is the medical book that The King 'Seon-jo' ordered to make Hur jun for correcting the faultiness of pulse medical book(ChanDoMackKyul). through the inquiry of it, we expect accomplishment of 'Pulsation' in Chosun Dynasty and reveal the koyangsaeng's date.

A Study on Comparing Characteristics of Philippe Starck's furniture design with Ron Arad's (필립 스탁과 론 아라드의 가구디자인 특성 비교 연구)

  • Design took a radical turn in the 1980's, deconstructing the rigid ideology of the Modernism, often with great humor. Contemporary representable Avant-garde designers, Philippe Starck and Ron Arad brazenly borrowed from the 'historical elements' of previous styles and created bio-morphic forms with whimsical names of furniture. This study is proposed to understand the diversity of contemporary design, by comparing these two furniture designers. It also covers the common factors in contemporary furniture design, and analyzes their individual differences and similarities in design. It helps to plan the foundation of design methods for 21C, and predict and respond to the future as a reference point. Philippe Starck links Romantic Rationalism within Minimal style and Ron Arad links Deconstructivism within High-tech style but both of them pursue of Organic concept design in their furniture through the concept of humanism. They are able to establish a base of contemporary furniture design by adapting new conceptual form, and design process for the general public.

Electrical and mechanical properties of elastomer epoxy by addition of liquid elastomer (엘라스토머 첨가량에 의한 탄성에폭시의 기계 및 전기적 특성)

  • In this paper, we fabricated elastomer epoxy specimens by added liquid elastomer to improve the mechanical and electrical properties instead of previous high-voltage epoxy materials. As increased additive contents, glass transient temperature (Tg) was continually decreased in DSC (differential scanning calorimetry). Among specimens, 15 phr sample showed the mechanical and electrical properties similar of high-voltage epoxy in modulus, break-down and arc test. From the optimized condition of elastic epoxy, we confirmed a chance of application for high-voltage materials and power electrical instruments.

  • Ron Arad, the master of contemporary design in the U.K., is one of representative leaders of this age who has left distinguished achievements in the history of contemporary design through innovative design. Analyzing and understanding the Deconstructive design concept and the deconstructive characteristics of interior space of Ron Arad will contribute to finding directions for today's design and laying the ground for explaining the development pattern of design in the 21st century. After analyzing the deconstructive characteristics of each selected space, One Off and Ron Arad Associates have shown a deconstructive design trend of a creative formula by using methods that shed conventional processes and material while a space composition and form of new concept was attempted in the resting space of the New Tel Aviv Opera House, offering not only the establishment of a new circulation system, but also diverse experiences of space to visitors. Likewise, a temporal experience and communication between the user and the space was attempted in Belgo Noord and Belgo Central by partially applying a narrative space composition that sheds existing design concepts. At the Millennium House, they have produced an interior space for future house developed by breaking off from existing typical design development work and material through computer operation, and made various forms of space and atmosphere possible by attempting variable elements and the use of ultramodern material. Y's fashion shop has granted variability to the form and volume of space according to time by presenting display elements that have shed existing form and function. Hotel Puerta America as well, with a curved structure that has broken off with existing forms and maximized space variability through structures that have utilized ultramodern materials and instruments. Through this study, it has been verified that Ron Arad has been unraveling connections between interior space and its user, its requirements, and the original unique principles of space by applying deconstructive design concepts, and that through the mediation of these spaces, he is attempting indirect communication with the user. Eventually, he is taking part in the harmony and development of all elements of space connected with human beings by applying deconstructive design concepts.

  • Since SiC has 10 times higher breakdown field and 3 times higher energy gap than Si, it is possible to manufacture an excellent power MOSFET with a high breakdown voltage. However, since it has a high on-resistance due to low mobility, a Trench MOSFET has been proposed to lower it, but at the same time, it has a problem that BV decreases. The purpose of this paper is to design a 1200V trench MOSFET, and to solve this, split Epi depth, Trench depth, and Trench depth to Epi depth, which are important variables for BV and Ron, to achieve maximum electric field, BV, Ron's reliability characteristics were compared and analyzed. As the epi depth increased, the trench depth decreased, and the epi depth decreased at the trench depth, the maximum electric field decrease, BV increase, and Ron increase were confirmed. All results were simulated by sentaurus TCAD.

A Study on Suk Dang Kim Sangjeong's Prose Works (석당(石堂) 김상정(金相定) 문학론과 산문 일고)

  • Suk Dang Kim Sangjeong (1722-1788) was one of the Big Three Noron literati of the mid-18th century, and is an author worth taking note of in that he expressed the duty to pursue the Qin-Han gomoon-ron (古文論) more clearly and radically than anyone else. The literary debates that unfolded in the letters he exchanged with Ahn Doje (安道濟) and Sin Daejeon (申大傳) are the clues that may explain the continual development of Qin-Han gomoon-ron within Joseon. His gomoon-ron is a self-reflection of the Dang-Song gomoon-ron that continued as tradition in the Noron literati after Kim Changhyeop (金昌協), and also reflects his literary and periodical confidence. At the same time, he also makes a distinction with Qin-Han gomoon-ron set forth by the Seven Masters literature from the Ming Dynasty (前後七子) in that he takes precautions against plagiarism and emulation. It has rarely been shown that his sentences plagiarize and excessively cite the classics, or that he abstrusely elaborates sentences. He sorted through things of value worth recording and cleanly reenacted them based on the scenes and conversations, further, delivered applicable normative lessons through allegoric writing. This may be discussed as the portions that are possessed by the Qin-Han gomoon-ron that he pursued, and particularly that have the esthetic and contact point of historical prose. Kim Sangjeong's writing pursued the Qin-Han gomoon-ron of a prior era, and though distinguishable from authors of difficult writings, possesses unique characteristics that make it distinct from the Dang-Song gomoon-ron that focuses on argument. The direction of Kim Sangjeong's antiquarianism seeks after imperial loyalty, and is mutually intelligible with the artistic discourse of the Noron Cheongryu literati such as Lee Yunyeong, Kim Sangsuk, Lee Insang, and Hong Naksun who preferred archaeological finds and classical prose. While their literary tastes are a reflection of their conservative worldviews, they may also have been utilized as a foundation supporting their lives which were devoted to literature.

  • From the study on A Study on Comparison Gunhwa-ron(君火論) by Jinmutaek(陳無擇) and Sanghwa-ron(相火論) by Judangye(朱丹溪), the conclusion is as follows. Judangye(朱丹溪) said that Gunhwa(君火) is human fire[人火] and Sanghwa(相火) is heaven's fire[天火] having being opposite to the opinion of Jinmutaek(陳無擇). Jinmutaek(陳無擇) considered Gunhwa(君火) as native fire, Judangye(朱丹溪) also did Sanghwa(相火) as the source of life force. The Sanghwa(相火) that is heaven's fire[天火] mentioned by Judangye(朱丹溪) is located in part of Eum(陰) or deep part, because it based on the nothingness(虛無) to behind inside. Having become large the meaning of Gunhwa(君火) and Sanghwa(相火) defined by Jinmutaek(陳無擇) and Judangye(朱丹溪), more smaller that of Gunhwa(君火) and Sanghwa(相火) in the opposite site. Jinmutaek(陳無擇) and Judangye(朱丹溪) had difficult to state fairly about the meanings of Gunhwa(君火) and Sanghwa(相火), because of exceed intention to emphasize the importance of thier own opinions.

  • The Israel-born Ron Arad is one of Britain's "superstar" designers, an it has been said that he is Britain's answer to Philippe Starck. Arad is a highly individualistic designer whose ideas stem from a mental process that has more in common with that of the fine artist than of the jobbing designer for industry. His imagination expresses itself in the form of things. By the early 1990s he had become internationally recognized for his "ready-made" work. His furniture and lighting designs required extremely costly labour-intensive techniques to produce. As his work was highly evocative, suggesting a post-industrial world in which the urban landscape was characterized by materials in a state of decay. More recently, through collaborations with Italian and German manufactures, his work has reached a new level of sophistication and finish, which differentiates it from the earlier designs. As Arad reputation as a designer of workshop-based furniture came to an end and the era of "democratic" Arad furniture came into being. By middle of the decade he had become one of the most-discussed designers of the day. The spirituality that emanates from all his work is a product of his particular vision of the creative process, far removed from the typical, stereotyped trends in the sphere of modern industrialization. Complete genome sequence of serotype 3 Streptococcus suis INT-01, isolated from a domestic pig in Korea

  • Streptococcus suis is a major pig pathogen causing severe economic losses to the swine industry. This study aimed to analyze the genome of S. suis strain INT-01 isolated from a domestic pig in Korea. We found that the genome of strain INT-01 contains 2,092,054 bp, with a guanine (G) + cytosine (C) content of 41.3%, and the capsular polysaccharide synthesis locus of this strain is almost identical to that of serotype 3 S. suis strain 4961 isolated from China, suggesting that these isolates can be classified as serotype 3. Genomic analyses revealed that strain INT-01 is an extracellular protein factor (epf)-/ muraminidase-released protein (mrp)+/ suilysin (sly)- S. suis, which is the most prevalent genotype in Korea, and several virulence-related genes associated with the pathogenicity of S. suis were also detected. The genomic information of strain INT-01 may provide important insights into the development of control strategies against S. suis infections in Korea.
