PREDICTION OF TOKAI EARTHQUAKE DISASTER DAMAGE IN HAMAMATSU CITY AND THE COMPARISON TO THE PREDICTION REPORT OF SHIZUOKA PREFECTURE GOVERNMENT USING GIS

  • It is commonly believed that a gigantic earthquake (Tokai Earthquake) could occur in Shizuoka Prefecture in the near future. The Shizuoka Prefecture Government made the prediction report of Tokai Earthquake disaster damage. But this report does not pay attention to the ground conditions. The authors make a prediction map using GIS of Tokai Earthquake disaster damage in Asada-cho and Hirosawa Ni-chome in the central Hamamatsu City and revealed the location of dangerous houses and dangerous points in road networks in each town. These information could be useful when people try to find escape routes in an earthquake.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop a 3 dimensional spatial planning model (3DSPLAM) for facilities allocation and visual evaluation in improvement planning of rural village. For the model development, this study developed both planning layers and a modelling process for spatial planning of rural villages. The 3DSPLAM generates road networks and village facilities location automatically from built area plan map and digital elevation model generated by geographic information system. The model also simulates 3-dimensional villagescape for visual presentation of the planned results. The 3DSPLAM could be conveniently used for automatic allocation of roads, easy partition of land lots and reasonable locating of facilities. The planned results could be also presented in the stereoscopic models with varied viewing positions and angles.

  • ITS(Intelligent Transportation System) is an advanced system which can effectively handle the current transportation problems. DSRC(Dedicated Short Range Communication) is considered as a promising technology since it has the capability of two-way communication and can serves to implement various ITS services. In this paper, we study DSRC based ITS telecommunication traffic analysis and suggest an architecture and network design of telecommunication network for DSRC services. We also perform a simulation study to validate the proposed network architecture and design for Metropolitan Seoul Area with various network alternatives. In this simulation, we use actual traffic data and road characteristics from Seoul area and use our DSRC service configuration.

Intelligent Traffic Light using Fuzzy Neural Network

  • In the past, when there were few vehicles on the road, the T.O.D.(Time of Day) traffic signal worked very well. The T.O.D. signal operates on a preset signal cycling which cycles on the basis of the average number of average passenger cars in the memory device of an electric signal unit. Today, with increasing traffic and congested roads, the conventional traffic light creates startup-delay time and end lag time so that thirty to forty-five percent efficiency in traffic handling is lost, as well as adding to fuel costs. To solve this problem, this paper proposes a new concept of optimal green time algorithm, which reduces average vehicle waiting time while improving average vehicle speed using fuzzy rules and neural networks. Through computer simulation, this method has been proven to be much more efficient than fixed time interval signals. Fuzzy Neural Network will consistanly improve average waiting time, vehicle speed, and fuel consumption.

  • The aiming ability is a key to improve the accuracy performance of the gun pointing system in the ground military vehicle. This paper describes the new detection method of chatter vibration using disturbance acceleration in the pointing structure. In order to analysis the vibration trends of the pointing system occurred while the vehicle driving, acceleration data obtained from vehicle was processed by using data processing algorithm with moving average and Hilbert transform. The specific mode constants of acceleration were obtained from various disturbances. Vehicle velocity, road condition and property of pointing structure were considered as factors which make the change of vibration trend in vehicle dynamics. Finally, back propagation neural networks have been applied to the pattern recognition of the classification of vibration signal in various driving conditions. Results of signal processing were compared with other condition result and analysed.

Emergency Vehicle Dispatching on Unreliable Road Networks (불확실한 도로 네트워크에서의 응급차량 배차)

  • 이 논문에서는 지진이나 해일과 같은 자연재해가 발생했을 때 생존자의 수를 최대화하기 위한 응급차량의 배차 문제에 대하여 살펴본다. 이 경우에는 도로 네트워크상에서 최단거리에 있으리라 예상되는 환자부터 실어 나르는 스케줄링 규칙을 많이 이용한다. 이 스케줄링 규칙을 SEPT(Shortest Expected Processing Time) 라고 한다. 이 논문에서는 SEPT보다 효율적이라 생각되는 새로운 스케줄링 규칙을 제안한다. 이 스케줄링 규칙은 처리시간과 납기일이 확정적인 경우에 생존자의 수를 최대화시켜주는 스케줄링을 제공하는 Moore의 알고리즘을 처리시간과 납기일이 확률적인 경우로 확장한 것이다. 다음으로 이 스케줄링 규칙을 지진이 많이 발생하는 미국 캘리포니아 주 로스앤젤레스의 한 지역을 대상으로 몇 가지 생존확률 하에서 생존자의 수를 기준으로 SEPT와 비교한다. 그 결과 모든 생존확률 하에서 제안된 스케줄링 규칙이 SEPT보다 평균적으로 생존자의 수를 더 늘려주는 스케줄링을 제공한다. 그리고 많은 경우 제안된 스케줄링 규칙은 최적 스케줄링을 제공한다.

Path Prediction of Moving Objects on Road Networks (도로 네트워크에서 이동 객체의 미래 경로 예측)

  • 본 논문에서는 도로 네트워크에서 이동하는 객체들의 미래 경로를 예측하는 방안에 대하여 다룬다. 기존의 대부분 미래 예측 기법들을 유클리드 공간에서 이동하는 객체들을 대상으로 한다. 그러나 텔레매틱스 등 다양한 응용에서 객체들은 도로 네트워크 상에서 이동하는 경우가 많으므로 이를 위한 미래 예측 방법이 요구된다. 본 연구에서는 질의 객체의 현재까지의 이동 궤적과 유사한 경향을 가지는 과거 궤적들을 분석함으로써 이 객체의 미래 경로를 예측하는 기법을 제안한다. 우선, 도로 네트워크의 특성을 미래 경로를 다음과 같이 예측한다. 먼저, 이동 객체 데이터베이스 내의 과거 궤적들을 대상으로 주어진 질의 궤적과 유사한 부분 궤적을 갖는 후보 궤적들을 검색한다. 그 다음, 검색된 후보 궤적들의 현재 위치 이후부터 목적지까지의 이동 경로를 분석함으로써 객체의 미래 이동 경로를 예측한다. 작은 차이를 갖는 이동 경로들을 같은 그룹으로 간주함으로써 경로 예측의 정확성을 높이는 방안을 제안한다.

  • Vehicular Ad-Hoc Networks (VANETs) have become one of the active areas of research, standardization, and development because they have tremendous potentials to improve vehicle and road safety, traffic efficiency, and convenience as well as comfort to both drivers and passengers. However, message trustfulness is a challenge because the propagation of false message by malicious vehicles induces unreliable and ineffectiveness of VANETs, Therefore, we need a reliable reputation method to ensure message trustfulness. In this paper, we consider a vulnerability against the Sybil attack of the previous reputation systems based on blockchain and suggest a new reputation system which resists against Sybil attack on the previous system. We propose an initial authentication process as a countermeasure against a Sybil attack and provide a reliable reputation with a cooperative message delivery to cope with message omission. In addition, we use Homomorphic Commitment to protect the privacy breaches in VANETs environment.

  • Bridges are essential and valuable elements in road and rail transportation networks. Bridge remediation is a top priority for asset managers, but identifying the nature of true defect deterioration and associated remediation treatments remains a complex task. Nowadays Decision Support Systems (DSS) are used extensively to assist in decision-making across a wide spectrum of unstructured decision environments. In this paper a requirements-driven framework is used to develop a risk based decision support model which has the ability to quantify the bridge condition and find the best remediation treatments using Multi Attribute Utility Theory (MAUT), with the aim of maintaining a bridge within acceptable limits of safety, serviceability and sustainability.

  • 최근, 궤적 정보를 이용한 많은 연구들이 진행되고 있다. 그러나 이동 객체의 실제 궤적 데이터를 획득하기는 어렵기 때문에 대부분의 연구들은 궤적 생성기에 의해 생성된 데이터를 이용하고 있다. 그러나 기존의 궤적 생성기들은 대부분 유클리디언 공간을 바탕으로 궤적을 생성하기 때문에 도로 네트워크 공간에서는 적용될 수 없다. 본 논문에서는 도로 네트워크 공간을 바탕으로 한 이동 객체의 궤적 생성 방안을 제안한다. 실제 이동 객체의 움직임과 비슷한 궤적을 생성하기 위하여 이동 객체는 출발지에서 목적지까지의 최단 경로에 근접하여 움직인다는 현실세계의 특징을 반영한다. 제안하는 기법을 이용하여 생성된 궤적 데이터는 현실 세계를 반영하면서 사용자가 원하는 궤적 데이터를 제공할 수 있기 때문에 다양한 연구에 사용될 수 있다.
