  • LR-WPAN(Low-Rate Wireless Personal Area Network) hewn as IEEE 802.15.4 is considered as one of the most suitable specifications published until now to accomplish USN(Ubiquitous Sensor Network). In this paper we simulate interference effects to other systems if LR-WPAN will be used in 900MHz. In considering the current usage situation of 900MHz frequency band, we can think LR-WPAN shares the frequency band of $908.5{\sim}914MHz$ assigned for RFID/USN. The simulation results of the case of LR-WPAN and RFID/USN sharing the frequency band show that the probability of interference of LR-WPAN to CT1 and RFID is 2.5% and 2.1%, respectively. In order to avoid interference effects to public communications, simulations results show that the protection distance of about loom is needed.

  • In this study, we suggest an emulator for generating multiple heterogeneous interference signals in the Korean radio frequency identification/ubiquitous sensor network (RFID/USN) frequency band. The proposed emulator uses only one universal software radio peripheral to generate multiple heterogeneous interference signals more economically. Moreover, the physical and media access control parameters can be adjusted in real time using the LabVIEW program, thereby making it possible to create various time-varying interference environments easily. As an example showing the capability of the proposed emulator, multiple interference signals consisting of a frequency-hopping RFID signal and two LoRa signals with different spreading factors were generated. The generated signals were confirmed in both frequency and time domains. From the experimental results, we verified that our emulator could successfully generate multiple heterogeneous interference signals with different frequency and time domain characteristics.

  • This letter presents the design for a low-profile planar inverted-F antenna (PIFA) that can be stuck to metallic objects to create a passive radio frequency identification (RFID) tag in the UHF band. The designed PIFA, which uses a dielectric substrate for the antenna, consists of a U-slot patch for size reduction, several shorting pins, and a coplanar waveguide feeding structure to easily integrate with an RFID chip. The impedance bandwidth and maximum gain of the tag antenna are about 0.3% at 914 MHz for a voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR) of less than 2 and 3.6 dBi, respectively. The maximum read range is about 4.5 m as long as the tag antenna is on a metallic object.

  • In this paper, we have shown the performance analysis results of the LoRa low power wide area network under duty cycle local regulation in Korean RFID/USN frequency band. Especially, we analyzed uplink throughput and data transmission time of a single LoRa end device. From the analysis results, duty cycle regulation, in which a data transmission should be ended within 0.4 second, limits the performance of LoRa network. Therefore, it is necessary to revise Korea's duty cycle regulation referencing EU regulation in order to assess LoRa network in Korea.

  • In this paper, it can be applied to a walkie-talkie, the RFID / USN 920 MHz band(917~923.5 MHz) and WiFi 2.4GHz band(2.4~2.483 5GHz) return loss is 10 dB over the band, on-board dual band with omni-directional radiation characteristics is proposed. The basic structure designed antenna is used meander monopole antenna. It was used as double stubs and tabs for antenna designs that meet the criteria proposed. The double stub and the tab affects the reactance of the antenna to form a common-mode and differential-mode in the stub to improve the antenna characteristics and return loss in the bandwidth, gain and radiation characteristics. The system size of walkie-talkie is $52{\times}77mm^2$, the size of the antenna is limited to $52{\times}15mm^2$, the thickness of FR4 dielectric substrate is 0.8 mm, FR4 dielectric constant 4.4 is used. For experimental results, the return loss is measured more than 10 dB, the maximum gain is measured 1.95 dB, the maximum bandwidth is measured 360 MHz, the radiation characteristic is measured omni-directional. By a walkie-talkie terminal design applying the results of the paper, the handset's price competitiveness and production efficiency can be improved.

  • In this paper, a bike management system using 900 MHz RFID technology has been developed. There are limits to the 13.56 MHz spectrum of existing management systems, which are single tag identification and the short possible identifying distance of the technology. In this paper, we use 900 MHz instead of 13.56 MHz in order to make wide recognition and multi-tag identification possible. Granted, there are also many benefits to using 13.56 MHz RFID tags, which include compatibility with existing bike management systems. This system was developed on the 900 MHz band using RFID similarly to existing 13.56 MHz systems in order to be able to manage multiple bikes at the same time.

  • In this paper, we proposed A Study on Construction of Infrastructure for Handicapped Parking Areas Using RFID. This paper is Construction of the Handicapped Parking Areas infrastructure Using RFID with 900MHz band, and researched the optimal position of the tag attached on the vehicle and the location of RFID reader in order to raise the efficiency of RFID reader and the recognition rate by the handicapped vehicle. The result of research is shown the optimal position of RFID reader establishment when the height of RFID reader is 170cm in height and the angle of $80^{\circ}$ with the ground when the vehicle traveling direction of the antenna and the RFID reader when the surface and the angle of $90^{\circ}$ showed the best position RFID readers installed. Parking spaces for the disabled in accordance with these results the RFID readers installed and it works in conjunction with enforcement camera car tagged crackdown on vehicles and other general management, the system is built to allow handicapped parking spaces that meet the intent of the original purpose being used as expected to contribute significantly.

  • Wireless Self-Powered Temperature Sensor for UHF Sensor Tags which are basic device for construction of ubiquitous sensor network is proposed. The key parameters of the target specification are resolution of $0.1\;^{\circ}C$ per output bit, below 1.5 V of operating voltage and below 5 uW of power consumption during sensing operation. Temperature sensor circuit consists of PTAT current generator, band gap reference circuit generating both reference voltage and current, Sigma-Delta Converter, and Digital Counter. Simulated maximum resolution was $0.23\;^{\circ}C/bit$ in 11-bit output. The proposed temperature sensor was fabricated by using a 0.25 m CMOS process. The chip area is $0.32\;{\times}\;0.22\;mm$ and the operating frequency is 2 MHz. Measured resolution from fabricated temperature sensor was $4\;^{\circ}C/bit$ in 8-bit output for the temperature range from $10^{\circ}C$ to $80^{\circ}C$.
