RF Characteristics Analysis of Smart Braille Block for Location Identification in Subway Station (지하 철도역사에서 위치확인을 위한 스마트 점자블럭의 RF 특성 분석)

  • The location information of the people or mover is essential for supporting various smart mobility services in railway stations which are mostly underground. For this purpose, a smart braille block is proposed to identify the location of the mover of the people. In this paper, the frequency characteristics of each material of the upper and lower parts of the braille block are analyzed to examine the appropriate materials for railway history. In addition, the guidelines for actual manufacturing were derived by analyzing the separation distance between two RF sensors in the smart braille block. As a result of analysis through the characteristic analysis in this paper, after selecting the material suitable for the construction site when the smart braille block is applied, the performance change of the RF system, especially the antenna that greatly influences the RF performance, must be reviewed in advance. It seems to have to be applied after checking through.

  • 센서네트워크는 사람을 대신해 다양한 환경에서 감시와 정보수집 역할을 수행한다. 센서네트워크는 제한된 하드웨어 자원과 낮은 무선 네트워크 대역폭을 사용한다. 이러한 특성은 통신 중 높은 에러율을 발생시키며 데이터 신뢰도 향상을 위한 오류정정 기법의 필요성이 높다. 센서노드의 환경에 따른 CRC 에러와 패턴에 대한 연구는 오류정정 기법의 적절한 기법 선택을 위한 자료가 된다. 본 논문에서는 시스템 구성시 데이터 전송률에 영향을 미치는 전송주기와 센서노드간의 거리 전송 패킷의 크기, RF의 크기에 대한 실험을 실시한다. 실험한 결과를 바탕으로 시스템 구성에서 고려해야 하는 요소를 알아본다.

  • 지능형 센서, 마이크로전자공학 및 집적회로, SoC (system-on-chip) 설계와 저전력 무선통신의 급속한 발달로 소형 지능형 센서노드의 개발을 촉진하여 왔다. 이러한 센서 노드는 인체센서네트워크(Body Sensor Network;BSN)의 개발에 초석이 되며, 향후 이 분야의 급속한 발전을 기대하게 된다. 초 저전력 RF 기술의 발전은 침투식 및 비침투식 장치들이 원격 단말과 데이터 전송을가능케 하며, 환자를 장기간 모니터링하여 의료 전문가에게 실시간으로 피드백 함으로써 건강관리 시스템의 일대 혁신을 일으키고 있다. 본 기고에서는 이식형 의료 장치들간의 무선통신 방법과 BSN 분야에서의 최근 기술적 발전동향에 주안점을 두어, 인체 내장형 및 인체 부착형 통신 네트워크 구조를 파악한 후, 이들 분야에서 미해결 쟁점과 난제에 관하여 분석하였다.

  • 본 논문에서는 뇨실금 환자들에 대한 지원 기술의 일환으로 인체에 무해하고 비침습적인 초음파를 이용하여 배뇨시기를 알려주기 위한 재택용 뇨의 경보기용 뇨량검출 센서의 개발과 이를 이용한 방광 벽간거리와 뇨량과의 상관관계에 관하여 연구하였다. 개발된 센서는 인체내에 침투력이 가장 좋은 중심 주파수가 2.25 MHz인 초음파를 사용하여 분해능을 높여 오차를 감소시킬 수 있는 구조로 설계하였다. 이 센서를 이용하여 방광전.후벽간의 거리를 검출하여 이로부터 뇨량을 정량적으로 측정하기 위한 기초 실험을 실시하였다. 기초실험은 건강한 성인 남자 3명을 대상으로 초음파 뇨량검출 센서를 이용한 초음파 RF 반사신호 획득장치와 초음파 진단기에 의한 2가지 방법으로 이루어졌고 그 결과 뇨량과 벽간거리와의 사이에는 높은 상관성이 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. 결론적으로, 실험 결과를 토대로 하여 제작된 초음파 뇨의 센서를 부착한 초음파 뇨의 경보 시스템은 뇨실금 환자로 하여금 배뇨시기를 알려주는 경보 시스템으로 보건.복지적인 측면에서 현대사회에 기여할 공헌도가 매우 클 것이라 생각된다.

A Study on the Estimation of Energy Expenditure and falls measurement system for the elderly (고령자를 위한 에너지 소비 추정 및 낙상 측정 시스템에 관한 연구)

  • As we are turnning into the aged society, accidents by falling down are increasing in the aged people's group. In this paper, we design the system with the 3-Axis acceleration sensor which is composed by a single chip. The body activity signal is measured with the signal detector and RF communicator in this proposed system and the and falling by the entering signal pattern analysis with 3-Axis acceleration sensor. For the RF communication, we are using nRF24L01p and 8bits ATmega uC for the processor. The error of energy expenditure estimation between motor driven treadmill and proposed a body activity module was 7.8% respectively. Human activities and falling is monitored according to analyze and judge the critical value of the Signal Vector. as falled down if they don't turn off the alarm after specific period and the aged person's after falling down activities are their position and more.

Battery-less Pork Freshness Monitoring Based on High-Efficiency RF Energy Harvesting

  • Food safety has emerged as a growing concern for human health in recent times. Consuming contaminated food may lead to serious health problems, and therefore, a system for monitoring food freshness that is both non-detrimental to the quality of food and highly accurate is required to ensure that only high-quality fresh food packages are provided to the customers. This paper proposes a method to monitor and detect food quality using a compact smart sensor tag. The smart tag is composed of three ultra-low-power sensors, which monitor four major indicators of food freshness: temperature, humidity, and the concentrations of ammonia and hydrogen sulfide gases. An RF energy scavenging circuit is integrated into the smart sensor tag to harvest energy from radio waves at a high frequency of 13.56 MHz to supply sufficient power to the tag. Experimental results show that the proposed energy harvester can efficiently obtain energy at a distance of approximately 40 cm from a 4 W reader. In addition, the proposed smart sensor tag can operate without any battery, thereby eliminating the requirement of frequent battery replacement and consequently decreasing the cost. Meanwhile, the freshness of preserved pork is continuously monitored under two conditions--room temperature and refrigerator temperature--both of which are the most common temperatures under which food is generally stored. The food-monitoring experiments are conducted over a period of one week using the proposed battery-less tag. Based on the experimental results, the food assessment is classified into four categories: fresh, normal, low, and spoiled.

Time Switching-based Analog Network Coding for Maximizing the Minimum Required Secrecy Capacity in Energy Harvesting Networks (에너지 하베스팅 네트워크에서 최소 요구 보안 용량을 최대화하기 위한 시간 전환 기반의 아날로그 네트워크 코딩)

  • Recently, the energy shortage of sensors and the leakage of private information are considered as serious problems as the number of sensors is increasing due to the technological advance in Internet-of-Things. RF energy harvesting, in which sensors collect energy from external RF signals, and physical layer security become increasingly important to solve these problems. In this paper, we propose a time switching-based network analog coding for improving information security in wireless networks where the relay can harvest energy from source signals. We formulate 2-hop relay networks where an eavesdropper tries to overhear source signals, and find an optimal time switching ratio for maximizing the minimum required secrecy capacity using mathematical analysis. Through simulations under various environments, it is shown that the proposed scheme improves the minimum required secrecy capacity significantly, compared to the conventional scheme.

  • A new FET type semiconductor pressure sensor (PSFET : pressure sensitive field effect transistor) was fabricated and its operational characteristics were investigated. A ZnO thin film as a piezoelectric layer, $5000{\AA}$ thick, was deposited on a gate oxide of FET by RF magnetron sputtering. The deposition conditions to obtain a c-axis poling structure were substrate temperature of $300^{\circ}C$, RF power of 140watt, and working pressure of 5mtorr in Ar ambience. The fabricated PSFET device showed good linearity and stability in the applied pressure range($1{\times}10^{5}\;Pa{\sim}4{\times}10^{5}\;Pa$).

Power Splitting-based Analog Network Coding for Improving Physical Layer Security in Energy Harvesting Networks (에너지 하베스팅 네트워크에서 물리계층 보안을 향상시키기 위한 파워 분할 기반의 아날로그 네트워크 코딩)

  • Recently, RF energy harvesting, in which energy is collected from the external RF signals, is considered as a promising technology to resolve the energy shortage problem of wireless sensors. In addition, it is important to guarantee secure communication between sensors for implementing Internet-of-Things. In this paper, we propose a power splitting-based network analog coding for maximizing a physical layer security in 2-hop networks where the wireless-powered relay can harvest energy from the signals transmitted by two sources. We formulate systems where two sources, relay, and eavesdropper exist, and find an optimal power splitting ratio for maximizing the minimum required secrecy capacity using an exhaustive search. Through simulations under various environments, it is demonstrated that the proposed scheme improves the minimum required secrecy capacity by preventing the eavesdropper from overhearing source signals, compared to the conventional scheme.

  • This paper describes design of a variable-N frequency synthesizer for RF PLL with $0.13{\mu}m$ silicon CMOS technology being used as an application of the UWB system like MBOA. To get good performance of speed and noise super dynamic circuits was used, and to get variable-N division ratio MOSFET switching circuits was used. Especially to solve narrow bandwidth problem of the dynamic circuits load resistance value of unit divider block was varied. Simulation results of the designed circuit shows very fast and wide operation characteristics as 5~26GHz frequency range.
