Studies on Acute Toxicity and general Pharmacology of Fluorosilicic acid (불화규산의 급성독성 및 일반약리연구)

  • To determine biosafety of fluorosilicic acid as a source of fluoride, we carried out acute toxicity and general pharmacological studies using mouse. Fluorosilicic acid had little effects on general behavior, pain response, convulsion, skeletal muscle function and intestinal mobility as compared to controls. It had either little adverse effects on alkaline phosphatase and collagen levels in osteoblast cells. This study supports the safety of fluorosilicic acid in animals.

  • 최근 국민 식생활이 서구화로 변화하면서 식용유의 수요량도 급격히 증대되었다. 식용유는 장기간 고온에서 사용하기 때문에 여러 종류의 화학반응이 발생하여 각종 휘발성 산화 생성물 및 비휘발성 산화 생성물이 생성된다 (Kim et al., 1999). 휘발성 산화 생성물은 고유의 휘발성 향(odor)성분을 발생시키는데 이것은 식품의 변질 유무 및 식품의 품질 평가에 기준으로 중요하게 이용된다. (Noh et al., 2000). 현재까지 식용유는 생산과정에서는 품질관리가 엄격하게 되어 왔지만 유통과정과 소비과정에서의 품질 관리와 풀질 검사 면에서는 미흡했던 것이 사실이다. (중략)

  • In this Study, the dynamic equation for vibration analysis of mechanical systems with kinematic constraints is derived. This equations are derived in terms of small displacements of Cartesian coordinates, and are applied to compute the dynamic response and the natural modes of the suspension system of a vehicle. The results are validated through the comparison with the results from conventional nonlinear dynamic analysis and modal test.

  • Most of the photoperiodic responses result in a sharp contrast between development in long and short days, so that qualitative observations are quite sufficient to establish that development is under photoperiodic control, and qualitative information of this type is all that is available for many of the responses (Dring 1984). However, we need to devise some quantitative measurement of the response in order to study the physiological mechanism of photoperiodic control. We report here the quantification of photoperiodic control of erect thalli production of Sargassum muticum in different daylength regimes. (omitted)

PVA Technology for High Performance LCD Monitors

  • We have developed a high performance vertical alignment TFT-LCD, that shows a high light transmittance, and wide viewing angle characteristics with an unusually high contrast ratio. In order to optimize the electro-optical properties we have studied the effect of cell parameters, multi-domain structure and retardation film compensation. With the optimized cell parameters and process conditions, we have achieved a 24" wide UXGA TFT-LCD monitor (16:10 aspect ratio 1920X1200) showing a contrast ratio over 500:1, panel transmittance near 4.5%, response time near 27 ms, and viewing angle higher than 80 degree in all directions.

  • In this paper, a novel speed control strategy using an acceleration feedforward compensation by the estimation of the system inertia is proposed. With the proposed method, the enhanced speed control performance can be achieved and the speed response against the disturbance torque can be improved for the vector-controller induction motor drive systems in which the bandwidth of the speed controller cannot be made large enough. The experimental results confirm the validity of the proposed strategy.

  • This study introduces a simulation model of radar responses with frequencies on subsurface voids in concrete. In this model, the resolution and the attenuation according to radar frequencies in each interface which has different electromagnetic property are analyzed. This model aims to select the best frequency of radar which can analyze the thickness of voids in concrete from radar response. It also can be applied to estimate the limitation of propagation depth of radar on subsurface voids in concrete. The computed results show the radar images based on radar signal processing using convolution technique.
