In this paper, we propose a stochastic LP model for determining an optimal input quantity in a single-product multi-stage production system with random yields. Due to the random yields in our model, each stage of the production system can result in defective items, which can be re-processed or scrapped at certain costs. We assume that the random yield at each stage follows an independent discrete empirical distribution. Compared to dynamic programming models that prevail in the literature, our model can easily handle problems of larger sizes.

This paper argues that the de se reading is a composite of the corresponding de re one plus the presupposition that there exists a strong epistemic relation between the object of attitude, linguistically realized as an anaphor, and the attitude-bearer, the referent of the anaphor's antecedent. Close examination of the relation between the attitudes de se and anaphora reveals that the notion de se, as currently understood, should be generalized to explain the choice of anaphors. A taxonomy of anaphors in terms of a general notion like presupposition provides further empirical support for the approach taken here.

Physiotherapy has recently become an essential part of enhanced recovery protocols after thoracic surgery. The evidence-based practice of physiotherapy is essential for the effective management of postoperative patients. Unfortunately, only a small body of literature has discussed the rationale of the physiotherapy interventions that are routinely implemented following thoracic surgery. Nonetheless, we can integrate the available knowledge into our practice until new evidence emerges. Therefore, in this review, the principles of physiotherapy after thoracic surgery are presented, along with a detailed description of physiotherapy interventions, with the goals of enhancing the knowledge and practical skills of physiotherapists in postoperative care units and helping them to re-evaluate and justify their traditional practices.

Stress determination is a very important step in the assessment of the safety of existing reinforced concrete structures. In rock mechanic this goal is achieved with the over-coring technique. The main idea behind such a technique is to isolate a material sample from the stress field in the surrounding mass and monitor its re-equilibrium deformation response. If the materials remains elastic, and elastic properties are known, stresses may be obtained from the corresponding measured strains. The goal of this paper is to evaluate if the over-coring technique is applicable to reinforced concrete members. The results of an experimental investigation on the behaviour of compressed concrete columns subjected to the over-coring technique are presented. Considerations about the range of applicability of the technique are made by comparing the measured and the theoretical stresses. After that, results of failure tests on drilled specimens are presented and discussed. Furthermore, the response is compared with that of columns core-bored before the compressive test. Finally, comparisons with numerical analysis are shown.

In this paper, we consider the differential equation $$F^{\prime}-Q_1=Re^{\alpha}(F-Q_2)$$, where $Q_1$ and $Q_2$ are polynomials with $Q_1Q_2{\neq}0$, R is a rational function and ${\alpha}$ is an entire function. We consider solutions of the form $F=f^n$, where f is an entire function and $n{\geq}2$ is an integer, and we prove that if f is a transcendental entire function, then $\frac{Q_1}{Q_2}$ is a polynomial and $f^{\prime}=\frac{Q_1}{nQ_2}f$. This theorem improves some known results and answers an open question raised in [16].

A 9-month-old intact male Maltese dog (1.52 kg) was diagnosed with a patent ductus arteriosus (PDA). Transcatheter occlusion of the PDA was performed by using the Amplatz canine duct occluder (ACDO). After occlusion, reflex bradycardia occurred and lasted for at least 15 h with normal systolic arterial pressure and slightly increased diastolic arterial pressure. The bradycardia slowly resolved, and the heart rate was normal in re-examinations after 7 and 30 days. This is the first case of reflex bradycardia after ACDO implantation, in which the bradycardia continued for a long time, even after recovery from anesthesia.

ZnO and SiC powders were fabricated to make crack-free composite membranes. Parts of some membranes were re-treated with an encapsulation process. These membranes were characterized by XRD, BET, and FE-SEM analyzes. The hydrogen permeation fluxes of the encapsulated and heat-treated membranes after encapsulation were observed using Sievert's type equipment. Values were measured at 1 bar with increasing temperatures. The obtained values of encapsulated and further heat-treated membrane at 298 K were $4.20{\times}10^{-6}$ and $8.64{\times}10^{-5}mol/m^2sPa$, respectively.

Korea's population is aging at a faster pace than any other major country, and the adverse impact of this trend on the economy is predicted to be significant. This paper focuses on the macroeconomic effects of population aging with particular attention paid to the pace of aging in Korea. According to our analysis, it is difficult to offset the decline in the labor supply driven by rapid population aging, even if the labor force participation rate of the working-age population rises to a significantly high level. We suggest a re-orientation of policy directions to correspond to the behavioral changes of economic agents. Policies must focus on promoting labor force participation among the elderly while pushing towards human capital advancement and higher productivity.

본 논문에서는 $Cs_2NaCeBr_6$ 엘파소라이트 단결정의 섬광 및 열형광 특성에 대하여 조사하였다. $Cs_2NaCeBr_6$의 형광스펙트럼은 $Ce^{3+}$ 이온의 $4f{\rightarrow}5d$ 천이에 따라 파장범위가 300 ~ 450 nm, 피이크 파장은 377 nm 및 400 nm이었다. 형광감쇠시간 특성은 140 ns의 빠른 시간 특성 성분(94%)과 880 ns의 느린 성분(6%)의 2개로 구성된다. 잔광에 기여한 포획준위의 물리적 변수를 열형광측정법에서 측정한 결과, 포획준위의 활성화에너지, 발광차수 및 주파수 인자는 각각 0.67 eV, 1.71 및 $2.51{\times}10^8s^{-1}$이었으며, 이는 여기된 전자의 재포획율보다는 재결합율이 더 우세하기 때문인 것으로 사료된다.
