This study is to get the proper evaluation of the residual property of reinforced concrete beam exposed to fire. This study focused on the strength resistance and analytical evaluation of RC members exposed high temperature. And this study is the basis analytical research to conduct the other studies. To analysis by the finite element method, the Total-RC program was used to analysis it and the Total-Temp program was also used to analysis the temperature distributions at the section. All of results were compared with the pre-existing experimental data of simple supported beam. Using it, the parameters influencing the structural capacity of the high temperature-damaged RC members and residual strength estimation are investigated. The temperature distribution and the structural capacity at the section are calculated in this step. An application of this method is compared with the heating test result and residual property test for simple supported beam which is subjected to ISO 834 test fire. The results of this study are as follows; 1) The loads-displacement relationship of RC beam, considering initial thermal stress of cross section and heat transfer analysis are estimated comparing analytical value with pre-existing experimental results. 2) by the heating time (0, 1, 2 hours), the results of analysis with parameters show that the load capacity exposing at fire is affected.
The high strength materials have been more widely used in reinforced concrete structures, specially, the reinforcing steel is permitted to used in RC structures up to yielding strength of 600 MPa. The strength of materials in RC beam section effects on the behavior and ductility of the RC members. In this study, the numerical analysis has been conducted to obtain the complete moment-curvature relation and the curvature ductility factor for the rectangular RC beams sections under the various reinforcement conditions and the effects of concrete strength, yield strength of reinforcement steel on the behavior and the curvature ductility factor of RC beam sections have been evaluated. The compressive strength of concrete and yield strength of steel have effected in various manner on the behavior and the curvature ductility factor of RC beam sections under reinforcement conditions. In the case of beam sections with equal resisting moment. the curvature ductility factor of RC beam section decreased with an increase in the yield strength of steel and increased with an increase in the concrete strength. When the yield strength of steel increased from 400 MPa to 600 MPa, the curvature ductility factor reduced about 30% and as the concrete strength increased from 30 MPa to 70 MPa, the curvature ductility factor of RC beam section increased about 3 times.

It is recently reported that bond failure can be initiated in the region where maximum bending moment and shear force is acted by accompanying shear deformation after flexural crack in full-scale RC beams strengthened by CFRP. Such a shear deformation effect causing bond failure is relatively little in the case of small-scale specimens. So, additional reinforcing details to the critical beam section where maximum moment and shear were acted is required to prevent the bond failure caused by the shear deformations. The U-type wrapping methods by CFRP to the critical beam section is proposed and tested in this paper. Also, the applicability of design bond strength derived from the tests of small-scale beam was investigated by the full-scale RC beam strengthened by CFRP.

The TEC-Beam system is a composite beam consisting of structural tee, precast concrete, and cast-in-site reinforced concrete slab. The preliminary test of the proposed system was performed for simple beams, showing good behavior. However, for the field application of the system. TEC-Beam - RC column connection was required to produce a mechanism that transfers the force occurring in the lower part of the TEC-Beam. Thus, this study developed a connection mechanism that transfers the force occurring in the lower part of the TEC-Beam. Thus, this study developed a connection wherein the section of the TEC-Beam was enlarged and the lower part reinforced. Two setups of the proposed system were experimentally investigated. using the anchorage length of reinforcement., i.e., length of the increased section, as test parameter. It could be concluded from the result that the proposed system shows good structural behavior, with potential applicability in the field.

In this research, nonlinear Timoshenko beam element that is able to capture nonlinear shear deformation is developed. The proposed model shows more reasonable prediction than Bernoulli beam theory in short columns or strong shear column due to the consideration of shear deformation. The cross-section is modeled as fiber approach. Since the model is based on the fiber approach for section discretization, the plastic progress of the section can be traced and the coupling effect of the axial and flexural response. The developed element is implemented into the finite element program to analysis general reinforced concrete structures. As parametric study, reinforced concrete columns are analyzed and compared with experimental results, analyzed the property of behavior for reinforced concrete columns.
The objective of the present study is to evaluate the cyclic flexural behavior of a hybrid H-steel-reinforced concrete (HSRC) beam at the connection with a H-steel column. The test parameter investigated was the configuration of dowel bars at the joint region of the HSRC beam. The HSRC beam was designed to have plastic hinge at the end of the H-steel beam rather than the RC beam section near the joint. All specimens showed a considerable ductile behavior without a sudden drop of th applied load, resulting in the displacement ductility ratio exceeding 4.6, although an unexpected premature welding failure occurred at the flanges of H-steel beams connecting to H-steel column. The crack propagation in the RC beam region, flexural strength, and ductility of HSRC beam system were insignificantly affected by the configuration of dowel bars. The flexural strength of HSRC beam system governed by the yielding of H-steel beam could be conservatively evaluated from the assumption of a perfect plasticity state along the section.
In this study, the seismic details of a concrete-encased, U-shaped steel beam-to-RC column connection were developed. Three specimens of the beam-to-column connection were tested under cyclic loading to evaluate the seismic performance of the connection. The test parameters were the beam depth and the column section shape. The depths of the composite beams were 610 and 710 mm, including the slab depth. For the RC columns, a square section and a circular section were used. Special details using diagonal re-bars and exterior diaphragm plates were used to strengthen the connections with the rectangular and circular columns, respectively. The test results showed that the specimens exhibited good strength, deformation, and energy dissipation capacities. The deformation capacity exceeded 4% interstory drift angle, which is the requirement for the Special Moment Frame.

Recently, many existing bridges has been evaluated for maintenance and protection of collapse. In this study, field measurement according to truck loads tests on the reinforce concrete T beam bridge was carried out. Comparing the results of load test and structural analysis using the moments of inertia of gross section, crack section and effective section, and the moments of inertia of section considering depth of crack, it is conclude that the evaluation of load carrying capacity using the stress modification factor from structural analysis using the moments of inertia of gross section is more rational than using the other moments of inertia of sections.

In highly elevated piers and long span beams, a hollow section is often used to reduce the self-weight and increase the flexural rigidity of members. Numerical analysis was conducted to obtain the moment-curvature curves and curvature ductility factor for the RC hollow section beams under a range of hollow portion sizes and reinforcement conditions in the upper flange and web. The curvature ductility factor was constantly maintained until the hollow portion size($b_i/b_o/h_i/h_o$) was less than or equal to 0.5. The curvature ductility factor decreased sharply if ($b_i/b_o/h_i/h_o$) was 0.7 or more. The curvature ductility factor of the beam decreased if reinforcement was provided in the web of the RC hollow section beam. To obtain the same level of the ductility factor as the singly reinforced section, the reinforcement should be provided in the upper flange as much as the web reinforcement.

In a previous study, design charts where proposed to help the torsional design of axially restricted reinforced concrete (RC) beams with squared cross section. In this article, new design charts are proposed to cover RC beams with rectangular cross section. The influence of the height to width ratio of the cross section on the behavior of RC beams under torsion is firstly shown by using theoretical and experimental results. Next, the effective torsional strength of a reference RC beam is computed for several values and combinations of the study variables, namely: height to width ratio of the cross section, concrete compressive strength, torsional reinforcement ratio and level of the axial restraint. To compute the torsional strength, the modified Variable Angle Truss Model for axially restricted RC beams is used. Then, an extensive parametric analysis based on multivariable and nonlinear correlation analysis is performed to obtain nonlinear regression equations which allow to build the new design charts. These charts allow to correct the torsional strength in order to consider the favourable influence of the compressive axial stress that arises from the axial restraint.
