We investigate non-LTE effects on the $H_3^+$ level populations to help the analysis of the observed 2 and 3.5 micron $H_3^+$ emissions from the Jovian ionosphere. We begin by constructing a simple three-level model, in order to compute the intensity ratio of the R(3,4) line in the hot band to the Q(1,0) line in the fundamental band, which have been observed in the Jovian auroral regions. We find that non-LTE effects produce only small changes in the intensity ratios for ambient $H_2$ densities less than or equal to $5{\times}10^{11}cm^{-3}$. We then construct two comprehensive models by including all the collisional and radiative transitions between pairs of more than a thousand known $H_3^+$ rovibrational levels with energies less than 10000 $cm^{-1}$. By employing these models, we find that the intensity ratios of the lines in the hot and fundamental bands are affected greatly by non-LTE effects, but the details depend sensitively on the number of collisional and radiative transitions included in the models. Non-LTE effects on the rovibrational population become evident at about the same ambient $H_2$ densities in the comprehensive models as in the three-level model. However, the models show that rotational temperatures derived from the intensities of rotational lines in the ${\nu}_2$ and $2{\nu}_2$ bands may differ significantly from the ambie temperatures in the non-LTE regime. We find that significant non-LTE effects appear near and above the $H_3^+$ peak, and that the kinetic temperatures in the Jovian thermospheric temperatures derived from the observed line ratios in the 2 and 3.5 micron $H_3^+$ emissions are highly model dependent.
The 1R(Infra-Red) spectrum and PL(Photoluminescence) of the antiferromagnetic pure $MnF_2$ and the single crystal $MnF_2(1.5%\;EuF_3)$ with the rutile structures were measured. The detailed analysis of the measured PL data showed the differences of the optical property between the single crystal $MnF_2(1.5%\;EuF_3)$ and the pure $MnF_2$. It was found that the additional PL peak by the doping of the $EuF_3$ in $MnF_2$ is originated from the f-d transition of $Eu^{3+}$ from the temperature dependent intensity measurement.

Spray deposited Molybdenum trioxide (MoO3) thin film of thickness nearly 379 nm were irradiated with 200 MeV Ag15+ ion beam at different fluences (Ø) of 5 ×1011, 1 × 1012, 5 × 1012 and 1 × 1013 ions/㎠. The X-ray diffraction (XRD) pattern of the pristine film confirms orthorhombic structure and the crystallinity decreased after irradiation with the fluence of 5 × 1011 ions/㎠ due to irradiation induced defects and became amorphous at higher fluence. In pristine film, Raman modes at 665, 820, 996 cm-1 belong to Mo-O stretching, 286 cm-1 belong to Mo-O bending mode and those below 200 cm-1 are associated with lattice modes. Raman peak intensities decreased upon irradiation and vanished completely for the ion fluence of 5 ×1012 ions/㎠. The percentage of optical transmittance of pristine film was nearly 40%, while for irradiated films it decreased significantly. Red shift was observed for both the direct and indirect band gaps. The pristine film surface had densely packed rod like structures with relatively less porosity. Surface roughness decreased significantly after irradiation. The electrical transport properties were also studied for both the pristine and irradiated films by Hall effect. The results are discussed.

The springing response of a large blunt ship was considered to be influenced by a second order interaction between the incoming irregular wave and the blunt geometry of the forebody of the ship. Little efforts have been made to simulate this complicated fluid-structure interaction phenomenon under irregular waves considering the second order effect; hence, the above mentioned premise still remains unproven. In this paper, efforts were made to quantify the second order effect between the wave and vibrating flexible ship structure by analyzing the experimental data obtained through the model basin test of the scaled-segmented model of a large blunt ship. To achieve this goal, the measured vertical bending moment and the wave elevation time history were analyzed using a higher order spectral analysis technique, where the quadratic interaction between the excitation and response was captured by the cross bispectrum of two randomly oscillating variables. The nonlinear response of the vibrating hull was expressed in terms of a quadratic Volterra series assuming that the wave excitation is Gaussian. The Volterra series was then orthogonalized using Barrett's procedure to remove the interference between the kernels of different orders. Both the linear and quadratic transfer functions of the given system were then derived based on a Fourier transform of the orthogonalized Volterra series. Finally, the response was decomposed into a linear and quadratic part to determine the contribution of the second order effect using the obtained linear and quadratic transfer functions of the system, combined with the given wave spectrum used in the experiment. The contribution of the second order effect on the springing response of the analyzed ship was almost comparable to the linear one in terms of its peak power near the resonance frequency.

Swift heavy ion (SHI) beam irradiation can generate desirable defects in materials by transferring sufficient energy to the lattice that favours huge possibilities in tailoring of materials. The effect of Ag15+ ion irradiation with energy 200 MeV on spray deposited V2O5 thin films of thickness 253 nm is studied at various ion doses from 5 × 1011 to 1 × 1013 ions/㎠. The XRD results of pristine film confirmed orthorhombic structure of V2O5 and its average crystallite size was found to be 20 nm. The peak at 394 cm-1 in Raman spectra confirmed O-V-O bonding of V2O5, whereas 917 cm-1 arise because of distortion in stoichiometry by a loss of oxygen atoms. Raman peaks vanished completely above the ion fluence of 5 × 1012 ions/㎠. Optical studies by UV-Vis spectroscopy shows decrement in transmittance with an increase in ion fluence up to 5 × 1012 ions/㎠. The red shift is observed both in the direct and indirect band gaps until 5 × 1012 ions/㎠. The surface topography of the pristine film revealed sheath like structure with randomly distributed spherical nano-particles. The roughness of film decreased and the density of spherical nanoparticles increased upon irradiation. Irradiation improved the conductivity significantly for fluence 5 × 1011 ions/㎠ due to band gap reduction and grain growth.
Effects of repeated administration of diminazene aceturate (Hoechst Veterin r GmbH. Ger- many) that has been introduced as effective compound against Babesiosis and trppanosomiasis were investigated in dogs experimentally infacted with Babesia gibsoni. Adull mongrel dogs of both sexes were inoculated will nonpreserved infected blood and then maintained chronic anemia. A single dose of diminazene aceturate of 7mg/kg b.w. was administrated intramnuscularIy on day 7.1 arid ,7. Clin- ical and hcmatological findings following inoculation and medication were observed and 7enlm bio chemical analysis also was monitored. Parasitemia was detected between 3 and 6 days after inoculation. The rate of parasitized erythrocytes,1 in peripheral blood reached the peak on the 13th day and was maintained the percentage of 0.1 to 1.0 until the medication of diminazene aceturate. RBC was significantly (p<0.01) decreased on the 3rd day and then kept on decreasing. The lowest value was observed on the 16th day. WBC remained generally within normal ranges. PCV revea1ed the sig-nificant (p<0.01) decrease within the range of 24-27% and platelet was significantly (p<0.05) decreased during the period. Senum chemical values (ALT, AST. total bilirubin. LDH BUN, area- tinine, total protein. albumin and glucose) were within normal ranges during the experimental period. Serum CPK values were significantly (p<0.01) increased on the 3rd day. There was no clinically, sig-nificant difference in a single dose of diminazene aceturate of 7 mg/kg b.w. But the administration of diminazene aceturate of 14 mg/kg b.w. revealed vomiting and anorexia and one dog died in 30 hours after administration. The administration of 14mg/kg b.w. resulted in vomiting, salivation, actor- exia, tremor of head and involuntary movement and one dog died in 27 hours after administration. WBC, RBC, PCV and Platelet values were no significant difference and hematological findings revealed persistent anemia and thrombocytopenia during chronic anemia after inoculation. AST activity its was significantly (p<0.01) increased 11\\`from 3 days after medication and AST activity was on the same trend. Serum CPK activity revealed significant (p<0.01) increase within 6 hors)\\`s after every administration and decreased in 48 howl·s after administration.

L-theanine is a unique amino acid, found almost solely in tea plants. It is the main component responsible for the exotic taste of green tea. In our studies of L-theanine, we have found a variety of biological activities including relaxation and the alleviation of PMS. In general, animals generate very weak electric pulses on the surface of the brain, called brain waves. Brain waves are classified into four types, namely $\alpha$, $\beta$, $\delta$ and $\theta$-waves, based on their frequency. Brain waves correlate with individual mental conditions. For example, generation of $\alpha$-waves is considered an index of relaxation. In human volunteers, $\alpha$-waves were generated on the occipital and parietal regions of the brain surface within 40 minutes after the oral administration of 50 or 200 mg Suntheanine$^{TM}$ without causing drowsiness. Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS) is a symptom unique to women which appears in the luteal phase from the ovulation period through the first day of menstruation. It possesses characteristics of having a peak just prior to menstruation and disappearing 1 - 2 days following the start of menstruation. Symptoms of PMS are generally categorized as mental, physical and social symptoms. When comparing the reported Symptoms of PMS by the methods of MDQ score, the Suntheanine$^{TM}$ group was found to have a lower incidence of PMS symptoms, including physical, mental and social symptoms. Overall, a significant alleviation of PMS symptoms by the administration of 200 mg Suntheanine$^{TM}$ was observed. With the successful industrial production of L-theanine, we are now able to supply Suntheanine$^{TM}$, offering a tremendous opportunity for designing functional foods targeting relaxation and the alleviation of PMS.

Determination of iron(II) ion with a perfluorinated sulfonated polymer(nafion)-ethylenediamine(en) modified glassy carbon electrode was studied. It was based on the chemical reactivity of an immobilized layer(nafion-en) to yield complex $[Fe(en)_3]^{+2}$. The oxidation peak potential by differential pulse voltammetry(DPV) was observed at 0.340${\pm}$0.015 V(vs. Ag/AgCl). The linear calibration curve was obtained in iron(II) ion concentration range $5{\times}10^{-6}{\sim}0.2{\times}10^{-3} M(0.28{\sim}11.17\; mg/L)$, and the detection limit(3s) was $1.89{\times}10^{-5}$M(1.056 mg/L).

The $ZnNb_2O_{6}$ ceramics with CuO(1, 3, 5wt%) were prepared by the conventional mixed oxide method. The ceramics were sintered at the temperature of $950^{\circ}C$∼$1075^{\circ}C$ for 3hr in air The structural properties and the microwave dielectric properties of $ZnNb_2O_{6}$ ceramics were investigated with sintering temperature and the addition of CuO. Increasing the addition of CuO, the peak of second phase($Cu_3Nb_2O_{8}$) was increased. The grain size of the $ZnNb_2O_{6}$ ceramics with CuO was increased with CuO addition at same temperature. The dielectric constant of $ZnNb_2O_{6}$ ceramics with CuO was increased with sintering temperature and CuO addition. While the quality factor of the $ZnNb_2O_{6}$ ceramics with lwt% CuO depended on sinterability, the quality factor of $ZnNb_2O_{6}$ with 3wt% and 5wt% CuO depended on second Phase due to the CuO addition. The optimum dielectric Properties of $\varepsilon$$_{r}$ = 21.73 Q${\times}$f = 19,276 were obtained from the condition of 3wt% CuO addition and sintering temperature of $1025^{\circ}C$(3hr).
We performed Raman spectroscopy on two different over-doped Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8+x (BSCCO), of which superconducting transition temperatures are 89 K and 77 K. Line-shape analysis of the Raman-spectrum was done, focused on B1g bond buckling mode which have drawn a lot of attention, since photoemission studies showed an evidence for strong coupling between the mode and electron. The line-shapes show asymmetry and are well fitted by the Fano line-shape formula. Remarkably, we found that the peak line-widths from B1g bond buckling mode in BSCCO show much broader than those in YBa2Cu3O7-x. The broad line width can be attributed to the superstructure modulation of BSCCO. Our results imply that B1g bond buckling mode may have close relation to the origin of superconductivity or to boosting the superconducting transition temperature in BSCCO.
