  • The vehicle loading test under the strict traffic control is generally carried out as a present practice in an evaluation process of the bearing capacity of a bridge. The quasi-static load test is recently proposed to mitigate the traffic condition of test, and analyze the disturbed acceleration time-history data of free vibration due to the ambient traffic on the bridge by Fourier transform to calculate only the natural frequencies of the bridge. The calculated frequencies have some errors due to the analysis technique as well as the influence of ambient traffic loads, and in addition to it is cumbersome to obtain the free vibration data during a quasi-static load test. In this study, the wavelet transform technique using Morlet wavelet is used to analyze the acceleration data recorded during a quasi-static load test on a bridge and calculate the natural frequencies and the modal damping ratios of the bridge. The study results show that the wavelet transform technique is a reliable and reasonable method to analyze test data and obtain the natural frequencies and the modal damping ratios of a bridge regardless of the data types i.e. free or forced vibrations.

  • Using synchronous surface pressures from the wind tunnel test, the three dimensional wind load models of high-rise buildings are established. Furthermore, the internal force responses of symmetric high-rise buildings in along-wind, across-wind and torsional directions are evaluated based on mode acceleration method, which expresses the restoring force as the summation of quasi-static force and inertia force components. Accordingly the calculation methods of equivalent static wind loads, in which the contributions of the higher modes can be considered, of symmetric high-rise buildings in along-wind, across-wind and torsional directions are deduced based on internal forces equivalence. Finally the equivalent static wind loads of an actual symmetric high-rise building are obtained by this method, and compared with the along-wind equivalent static wind loads obtained by China National Standard.

  • The acceleration of the performance of machine tools influences the development of the semi-conductor and optical technology as the development of NC and measurement technology. We can mention that a traction role of the acceleration for the development like that depends on the development of the measurement technics Stylus instrument method, STM, SEM, Laser interferometer method which are used for measuring the quasi-static error of machine tools. Because the measurement has been done to unload condition without considering of mechanical stiffness in the case of machining center as we measure the quasi-static error of machine tools on general studies, people who works on the spot has many problems on the data value. Therefor we will help working more accurately on the spot by measuring, analyzing, displaying the deflection of the table and support shaft when we load on the table and the support shaft of machining center using laser interferometer. Also we try to settle new conception of the measurement method and more accurate grasp of the deflection tendency by verifing the tendency of the error measured through the comparison of the simulated error using ANSYS, a common finite element analysis program, which is able to measure heat deformation, material deformation, and error resulted form this study.

  • Satellite structure should be designed to support safely the payload and several actuators under launch and on-orbit environments. After the configuration design of satellite, the structural analysis is performed using quasi-static load provided by launch vehicle manufacturer for detail design of satellite. In order to verify the safety of satellite structure designed using quasi-static loads, launch vehicle manufacturer performs coupled load analysis with satellite and launch vehicle models. For developing satellite, satellite model was reduced into the Craig-Bampton model for coupled load analysis, and delivered to the launch vehicle manufacturer. Launch vehicle manufacturer have done the coupled load analysis, and offered the acceleration and displacement results to the satellite manufacturer. From the analysis results, we have confirmed that satellite is designed safely and there is no possibility of interference and conflict in the inner/outer side of satellite.

  • The acceleration of the performance of machine tools influences the development of the semi-conductor and optical technology as the development of NC and measurement technology. Because the measurement has been done to unload condition without considering of mechanical stiffness in the case of machining center as we measure the quasi-static error of machine tools on general study people who works on the spot has many problems on the data value. Also there are no satisfiable results until now in spite of many studys about this because the deflections of the table and the shaft supporting a workpiece influence, influence the accuracy of the table and shaft supporting a workpiece influence the accuracy of the workpiece. And there is doubt about the inspection method of measured error. In this paper Therefor we will help working more accurately on the spot by measuring analyzing displaying the defoec-tion of the table and support shaft when we load on the table and the support shaft of machining center using laser interfer-ometer. • The Korea Aerospace Research Institute has developed a 6U HiREV Nano-satellite for the observation of the earth using high resolution videos and images. Since the 6U Nano-satellite is bulky compared to the 1U/3U Nano-satellite, the first natural frequency is relatively low. Large equivalent stress and total deformation, due to structural load, can be generated. In this paper, the design of the 6U HiREV Nano-satellite is described and structure analysis, such as acceleration load analysis, modal analysis, and random vibration analysis are carried out. It is proven that the structural design of the 6U HiREV is stable. These results will be useful as reference materials for the development of additional 6U Nano-satellites, which will be applied to various future missions in KOREA.

  • The precast production has many advantages by fast construction period, labor-saving and high quality. In recent years, the application of the precast product has been increased in the earth retaining wall field. This paper presents the results of the numerical analysis that was carried out to evaluate the dynamic stability of precast and prestressed earth retaining wall under moving train load. The two-dimensional FEM analysis was used to the numerical analyses. The train load to act on trackbed is combined by the real measured roughness phase angle and quasi-static load. The dynamic stability is analysed by the displacement, acceleration and stress under moving train load at each specified location. The results of the analysis show that the precast and prestressed retaining wall has very stable capability for the railway.

  • Recently, as construction technology improved, concrete structures not only became larger, taller and longer but were able to perform various functions. However, if extreme loads such as impact, blast, and fire are applied to those structures, it would cause severe property damages and human casualties. Especially, the structural responses from extreme loading are totally different than that from quasi-static loading, because large pressure is applied to structures from mass acceleration effect of impact and blast loads. Therefore, the strain rate effect and damage levels should be considered when concrete structure is designed. In this study, the low velocity impact loading test of steel fiber reinforced concrete (SFRC) slabs including 0%~1.5% (by volume) of steel fibers, and strengthened with two types of FRP sheets was performed to develop an impact resistant structural member. From the test results, the maximum impact load, dissipated energy and the number of drop to failure increased, whereas the maximum displacement and support rotation were reduced by strengthening SFRC slab with FRP sheets in tensile zone. The test results showed that the impact resistance of concrete slab can be substantially improved by externally strengthening using FRP sheets. This result can be used in designing of primary facilities exposed to such extreme loads. The dynamic responses of SFRC slab strengthened with FRP sheets under low velocity impact load were also analyzed using LS-DYNA, a finite element analysis program with an explicit time integration scheme. The comparison of test and analytical results showed that they were within 5% of error with respect to maximum displacements.
