  • In the context of Korean educational research, the number of qualitative research studies has gradually increased since 2000. It has become one of the most important research methods today. The field of math education is no exception to this trend, and qualitative approaches are now becoming one of the main research methods. This increase in qualitative research has contributed to the provision of detailed information about educational practice, but at the same time, the overall level of credibility in the results of qualitative research seems to be lower than that of quantitative research. This study started with the problem consciousness that the number of qualitative studies is increasing in the field of mathematical education, but there is a lack of discussion on the methodology of applying qualitative research methods. In this study, among the papers published in the journal related to mathematical education, papers using a qualitative approach are analyzed focusing on cross-case analysis. Based on the analysis results, the tendency to use qualitative approaches is diagnosed, ways of improving the validity and trustworthiness of qualitative research results in the field of mathematical education are examined, and implications and suggestions are presented.

  • Purpose: With the number of COVID-19 cases declining and generational differences among how people use mobile apps, including health service apps, the goal of this research is to identify and analyze the factors that affect people's attitudes when using the Halodoc health service app during the third year of the pandemic. Research design, data, and methodology: This study proposes a quantitative analysis method based on PLS-SEM modeling. This study has used a questionnaire survey to collect randomized data from 268 Halodoc users from generations Y and Z in Jakarta. Results: Both the Y and Z generations believe there is a significant usefulness factor in the attitude toward using the application. The start of the pandemic period demonstrates that the urgency of using health service applications is no longer determined by performance expectations, effort, or social panic, but rather by these applications' usability. Conclusions: Even though a health service application is no longer considered an urgent service or a priority need, attitudes, and behaviors in using it emphasize the aspect of long-term benefits. These findings supplement other considerations and understandings in application of the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) model in explaining attitudes and intention behaviors.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate how uses and gratifications motivations increase social media stickiness, with a special focus on media engagement as a key mediator. Data were gathered via a survey questionnaire from Bangladeshi Z Generation social media users, which was quantitative in nature. For the analysis of 258 survey samples, structural equation modeling methodology was used. The results show that social media engagement and social media stickiness are positively impacted by uses and gratifications motivations such as social interaction, information, convenience, and entertainment. The study also found evidence of a relationship between uses and gratification motivations and social media stickiness, which is also mediated by emotional attachment. Understanding the motivations and gratifications sought by Z Generation users on social media platforms can help design strategies to enhance engagement and loyalty, ultimately leading to improved user retention and platform success. By identifying and addressing the specific needs and desires of the Z Generation, social media platforms can tailor their features, content, and user experiences to foster a stronger sense of connection and satisfaction, resulting in increased user engagement and prolonged usage.
