데니쉬 모던을 바탕으로 한 아르네 야콥센의 공간디자인 특성 - 건축 공간 프로젝트를 중심으로 - (A Study on the Design Characteristics of Arne Jacobsen based on Danish Modern - Focused on the Architectural Space Project -)

  • Danish Modern has been recognized as simple and comfortable design movement that was matched with its unique regional environment. There are various internationally well known designers such as Arne Jacobsen, Verner Panton. Danish Modern movement and International style had vital role to activate these designers' ideas and design quality. This paper aims to study the background and design characteristics of Danish Modern movement as well as some of the spatial projects by Arne Jacobsen. Furniture design of Jacobsen were already throughly studied in various researches. However his spatial projects such as architectural buildings and interior designs were not. This study analyzes three major architectural projects based on the four characteristics of Danish Modern: Formal Simplicity, Simple Functionality, Regional Contextuality, Reasonable Amusement. After the case study, this study discovered that Danish Modern characteristics had unique roles in the design process of Jacobsen's projects. Danish Modern is still valid design philosophy that can be applied to contemporary society.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop design quality indicator for improvement of public architecture in Korea. The spatial scope of the study which sees limited at 'domestic public buildings'. The study contents scope is to develop design quality indicator to use design phase and evaluation of 'public buildings'. For this design quality indicator, we have analysed various domestic and international institutions associated with architecture design. And, design indicator for the possibility of application in public buildings were extracted. Through this work design quality indicator specific and objective was drawn. The results of this study 8 category were drawn 'Public', 'Harmony', 'Impact', 'Access', 'Landscape', 'Use', 'Sustainable', 'Technology'. Also, 29 Design quality Indicator were suggested. Finally, this study was developed by utilizing Design Quality Indicator can be utilized in the design phase, the evaluation process should be developed.

The Core Urban Design Strategies of Tall Building - Low Carbon Community

  • Tall building has some controversial aspects with low carbon city, but it is still a sensible choice for the metropolitan city. This paper aims to develop holistic urban design strategies to minimize impacts on the environment, increase energy efficiency and improve the quality of living in tall building communities by utilizing tall building characteristics. It puts forward the concept of integrated tall building-low carbon community design from the perspective of urban design, and summarizes five core strategies: Temporal state based on energy use, Complementary energy use state based on functions, Spatial state based on regional environment features, Transportation state based on low-carbon lifestyle and Waste utilization state based on tall building characteristics. It also applies the strategies to a practical project. The results show that the proposed urban design strategies are available approaches to mitigate the side effects of tall building on low carbon city.

  • The purpose of this study is, to increase the number of and improve environmental quality of kindergartens, to minimize the time and effort required in the design and construction of kindergartens by providing architectural design guidelines(space program and area guideline). The prerequisite condition of this study, in particular, is to provide the standardized design process for designing kindergartens which has merits such as provision of more qualified environment, minimization of the effort required in the design. Through the review of domestic regulations, domestic and foreign guidelines, and on-sight investigation of existing kindergartens, the practical guidelines for space program, areas, elevations and material planning were proposed.

  • Despite the improvement of productivity and cost, the operating of such equipments yet has been recognized as a 3D business which is a low wage and poor working environment business field. Accordingly, the number of such operators has been decreasing by time. Especially, construction equipment demands higher controlling skills and occasionally involved in critical accidents. Therefore, this study aims to suggest a conceptual design for an construction equipment Around View Monitoring system that visually assists the operator for more efficient operating. It is expected that the application of such technology for a construction equipment highly improves the productivity and work quality, moreover, prevents disastrous accidents that occur to labors.

  • 성공적인 소프트웨어 아키텍처의 설계를 위해서는 아키텍처 설계의 기반이 되는 아키텍처 접근법의 선정이 우선 이루어져야 한다. 이 때 다양한 아키텍처 스타일 즉, 아키텍처 접근법들 중 어떤 것을 선택 할 것인가는 완성될 시스템이 어떤 기능적, 비 기능적 품질요구사항을 만족시켜야 하는지에 따라 달라지게 된다. 본 논문에서는 아키텍처 접근법 선정을 위한 평가 모델을 제안하고 다양한 인터넷 활용과 엔터프라이즈 어플리케이션 통합에 활발히 사용되고 있는 메시지 시스템의 소프트웨어 아키텍처 접근법을 선정하고자 한다. 즉 여러 아키텍처 접근법 대안들이 존재할 경우 평가를 통해 시스템의 요구사항 만족 여부를 분석하여 대안들 중 가장 효율적이고 최적화 된 아키텍처 접근법을 선정하여 메시지 시스템의 아키텍처 설계 시 활용할 수 있도록 하고자 한다. 또한 아키텍처 접근법 식별시 스레드 기반의 설계 패턴을 활용하여 상세 설계와 구현 시 개발자들이 아키텍처를 바로 연계 시킬 수 있도록 하고자 한다.

  • The purpose of this study is to find the architectural characteristics of Verbena Heights, super high-rise complex housing, which has been most highly evaluated as a new town development model in Hong Kong, as a successful case of new housing type and sustainable design. The analyzed features of Verbena Heights are as follows; 1) Formation of various open spaces by a creative layout. 2) Enhancement of natural ventilation and daylighting by a linear plan instead of conventional cruciform plans. 3) Applications of integrated facade design for noise mitigation and for sunlight shading. 4) Adoption of energy-efficient devices, use of recyclable materials, and improvement of livability by a sustainable design process. These architectural characteristics provide the high-density high-rise housing with more efficient and comfortable environments for residents. And it is proved that the sustainable design can enhance the quality of dwelling environment.

도로면 포트홀 유지보수 자동화 장비의 개념디자인 및 경제적 타당성 분석에 관한 연구 (A Conceptual Design and Feasibility Analyses of an Automated Pothole Patching Machine)

  • The primary objective of this study is to develop a conceptual design of automated pothole patching machine that improves the conventional work in safety, quality, and productivity. For this, the following research works are conducted sequentially; 1)literature review, 2)selection of element technology for conceptual design, 3)deduction of work process and conceptual design, 4)life cycle cost analysis of the conceptual design. As a result, X-Y table telescopic manipulator, pothole patching end effector, realtime pothole recognizer, 3D pothole volume profiler, automated pothole patching machine controller are selected as core technologies. Furthermore, a conceptual design and working process of an automated pothole patching machine are developed based on the core technologies. According to the life cycle cost analysis result, the cost of the automated method was 38.3% less than that of the conventional method, and the economic efficiency was also superior(ROR 77.1%, Break-even Point 23.8month). It is expected that the application range and impact on the construction industry will be enormous due to the increasing trend of road maintenance market.

  • Construction project is necessary element for human life to upgrade the quality and convenience. However, due to its contradictory nature to the environment preservation, environmental pollution and damage, deterioration of natural scenery, noise/vibration, water quality pollution, etc. caused in the process of construction greatly affect the environment. For the building or construction project, its possible impact on environment during construction work and after completion must be predicted at its design phase, which will result in the completion of the architecture convenient for human being with its environmental pollution reduced to minimum level. In this study, the checklist of environmental factors was suggested, which should be taken into account at its design phase in conducting the construction work. Proposed checklist was linked with the developed web-based system for the convenience of users like designer and construction manager, etc. It is expected that the checklist suggested by this study will help the designer and construction manager to continue the steady development from the environmental viewpoint during the design phase.

A Sensitivity Analysis of Parameters Affecting Indoor Air Quality Related to TVOC and HCHO Reduction

  • The objective of the study is to analyze the relative performance of factors affecting indoor air quality in multi-residential buildings in Korea. A study of the factors affecting indoor air quality is essential for establishing indoor air quality management strategies effectively. To observe the indoor air quality response following a modification of a given parameter, a sensitivity analysis was performed. The factors examined for the analysis include; wall/ceiling paper, adhesive for wall/ceiling paper, floor material, adhesive for floor material, and ventilation rate. The Experimental Design which identifies main effects among the design parameters with a few experiments was used to decrease the number of experiments. The simulation for indoor air quality was undertaken using a validated equation. Then, ANOVA(Analysis of Variance) was performed to evaluate the relative importance of each parameter affecting the indoor air quality. The result of the study indicates that the indoor air quality may be influenced most by adhesive for wall/ceiling paper, followed by ventilation rate and adhesive for floor material.
