  • Plant management have a greatest influence on the corporate variety of tasks such as production, quality, environment. So, various performance indices for plant management are operating. But plant management tasks can be carried out effectively, so that all of how to organize and efficiently manage indicators is lacking real condition In this paper, improved profitability, cost savings by applying the concept for the performance assessment, plant management services, such as the key indices for performance according to the objectives of the firm.   • Construction projects are vulnerable to diverse internal and external factors, requiring systematic and consistent performance management along the entire life cycle of a project. In particular, urban renewal projects have a range of performance measures, including policy reconciliation and permits, project development, project financing, design, construction, and occupancy and maintenance. This requires a program-level megaproject approach, which integrates each stage of a project as well as variety of stakeholders' interests in pursuing a project from different perspectives. However, previous research on performance management has focused especially on the limited scopes of factors, including cost, quality, and schedule at the project level or on financial factors at the firm level. Given the lack of current approaches, this study suggests an integrated and systematic performance management scheme to control urban renewal megaprojects at the broadened perspectives of the program level. To this end, this study adopts the balanced scorecard approach and elicits key performance indices associated with various project configurations. Finally, an algorithm is presented for quantitatively assessing the level of performances along whole life cycle of urban renewal megaprojects.

  • Purpose: The balanced scorecard (BSC) has been adopted to evaluate factors affecting performances in organizational dealer marketing in Chinese cosmetics market. Four performance measures in BSC: learning & growth, internal business processes, customer performance, and financial performance are employed in our empirical study. Methods: We conducted surveys of dealers in a Chinese cosmetics company and used total 463 samples for analysis. Confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation model analysis were employed using AMOS 20.0. Results: This study found that internal business process had a positive relation with customer performance and learning and growth. Also, customer performance and learning & growth positively affected financial performances. Conclusion: This study has some academic and practical contributions in that the revised BSC model reflects the special aspects of Chinese cosmetics market and it can be used as a guide for companies in the Chinese cosmetics market to understand which factors are affecting performances.

  • The mission of public library is to contribute to local society's growth and improve local residents' quality of life by satisfying local residents' desire on information use, cultural activities, lifelong education, etc, and providing more convenient and equal access. This study is a research that deducted BSC-based public library performance indicator model composed of 12 critical success factors, 36 key performance indicators under four perspectives of learning and growth perspective, internal process perspective, resources perspective, and user perspective, estimated relative weights of deducted the performance indicator model on librarians of public libraries to analyze what performance indicator is important for accomplishing public library's mission and promoting performance.

  • Supplier selection is one of the most important activities of a company. This importance is increased even more by new strategies in a supply chain, because of the key role suppliers perform in terms of quality, costs and services which affect the outcome in the buyer's company. In addition, green production has become an important issue for almost every manufacturer and will determine the sustainability of a manufacturer. Therefore a performance evaluation system for supplier and green suppliers is necessary to determine the suitability of suppliers to cooperate with the company. Supplier and green supplier selection is a multiple criteria decision making problem in which the objectives are not equally important. In practice, vagueness and imprecision of the goals, constraints and parameters in these problems make the decision making complicated. The objective of this study is to construct a decision-making process using fuzzy analytic hierarchy process (FAHP) and balanced scorecard (BSC) for evaluating supplier and green suppliers in the manufacturing industry. The BSC concept is applied to define the hierarchy with four major perspectives and performance indicators are selected for each perspective. FAHP is then proposed in order to tolerate vagueness and ambiguity of information. Finally, FAHP is applied to facilitate the solving process. With the proposed approach, manufacturers can have a better understanding of the capabilities that supplier and green supplier must possess and can evaluate and select the most suitable supplier for cooperation.

Development of Performance Indices for Agro-food Distribution Corporations Based on the AHP Method (AHP기법을 이용한 농식품 유통법인 경영진단지표 개발)

  • Purpose - This study aims to develop diagnostic indices for managerial performance of agro-food distribution corporations. In particular, weights of diagnostic indices were estimated using the AHP method. Management diagnosis on agro-food distribution corporations is expected to increase their competitiveness in the domestic market as well as in international markets. Research design, data, and methodology - It develops weights or importance of the diagnostic indices based upon the survey of 21 experts in food distribution management. The survey was carried out using e-mail. Management diagnostic indices were developed based upon four BSC(Balanced Scorecard) perspectives of finance, learning/growth/leadership, customer, and internal process/technology. Results - Diagnostic indices on financial perspective consist on profitability, productivity, growth, stability and activity. Learning and leadership perspective indices consist of management will, CEO leadership, level of learning, innovation, and level of management information system. Customer perspective indices are branding, customer and channel management and internal process/technology indices consist of fourteen sub-indices representing technologies, efficiency, and dynamics. It was estimated that the weight of financial perspective index was 0.3, internal process/technology perspective index 0.248, customer category index 0.247, and learning, growth and leadership perspective index 0.205. This study also estimates weights of sub-indices for managerial diagnosis by four different perspectives. Estimated weight of profitability (0.085) is the greatest among financial perspective indices, followed by stability (0.072), growth (0.053), productivity (0.051), and activity (0.038). While estimated weights of leadership, capability, and information indices are 0.100, 0.061, and 0.044 respectively, weights of marketing, customer management, and quality and service indices are 0.104, 0.093, and 0.051, respectively. Among internal process/technology perspective, estimated weights of efficiency, technology, and innovation indices are 0.106, 0.088, and 0.054, respectively. Conclusions - The diagnostic indices for managerial performance of agro-food distribution corporations would be utilized by agro-food distribution corporations themselves, extension service institutions, and consultants. It is also expected that central and local governments use diagnostic indices developed in this study for the purpose of evaluating the effects of governmental support programs for agro-food distribution corporations. Futhermore researchers and consultants would modify diagnostic indices developed in this study, reflecting characteristics and situation of types of agro-food distribution corporations.

A Study to analyze Management Perfomance Building BSC for Hotels (BSC시스템 구축을 위한 호텔기업의 전략적 탐색)

  • There are two kind of system in hotel for evaluating management. the first is infra system, for example Front management system - reservation system, C/I, C/O system, POS system , web system, call center management -, Back office system, interface system, and so on which manage direct control for hotel, and next is strategic system, for example BSC , CS . which is supporting hotel management. The purpose of this study was to find using the Balanced Scorecard to evaluate hotel management perfomance. Management performance is based on productivity, quality, time, effect, and responsiveness. Hotel economic value is not equal visual asset which is measured financial value. It is include hotel brand, image, customers who have good loyalty, employees who give customers special service, and systems which was affected by internal process. In conclusion, innovation, growth, internal system process, empioyee and customer have effect hotel performance. Therefore hotel has to know non-financial performance which has positively relate to financial performance.

  • Purpose: This study aims to overcome the problem of private education market environment which is polarized into commercialized large private education institutions and small and medium sized private education institutions in a poor business environment, and develop systematic performance measurement model applicable for small and medium sized private education institutions. Methods: To develop the BSC which measures financial and non-financial indicator in a balanced manner and introduce the BSC into private education institutions that contain conflicting goals "EDUCATION" and "PROFIT". In particular, Utilizing the methodology of AHP, the priority of strategies and execution assignments are derived. Results: BSC model was developed and introduced by cooperating with executives of the private education institution. Moreover, the study permits to achieve the strategy, enterprise-wide vision and mission by deriving strategy map and applying it to the private education institution. To measure the performance of BSC model instruction, KPI corresponding to the strategic objectives of each perspective was derived. Conclusion: BSC model generally introduces to large-sized companies and public institutions. In this study, BSC model is developed by focusing on small and medium sized private institution. Furthermore, this study is more than simple model development, it makes a connection with achievement of strategic objectives, enterprise-wide vision and mission through strategy map and strategy execution method. Through the developed BSC model and strategy execution method, utilization plan in practice and customized model for private education institutions coexisting profit and non-profit objectives were developed, and academic implications were presented.

Study on Performance Evaluation of Academic Information Distribution Project in Scientific Technology Field (과학기술분야 학술정보 유통사업 성과평가에 관한 연구)

  • As country try expand R&D investment and enhance its efficiency to improve the national competitiveness, research is needed to conduct qualitative enhancement and derive progressive future strategy in relation to the academic information distribution project in scientific technology field. In this study, BSC-based performance indicators were applied to an institute that is the representative of domestic academic information distribution institutes in the field of scientific technology to evaluate project performance, and then to analyze portfolio of using such evaluation results. As for the items of evaluation for the performance indicators of academic information distribution project in the scientific technology field, 12 items that includes information resource quality, information service quality, user satisfaction and economically useful value of academic information from four(4) viewpoints such as information resource, information service, user and economic viewpoints. In the portfolio analysis, it was conducted by performance indicators and by elements of the individual performance indicators as well. Based on the results of performance evaluation and portfolio analysis, the improvement method by viewpoints on academic information distribution project of an institute was suggested.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the change of hospitals that patients safety and quality improvement by accreditation process and to examine the impact or interrelation of leadership, organizational culture, hospital management activities and recognition of hospital management performances. The data were collected through a review of the literature, and selfadministered survey with a structured questionnaires to 714 subjects from several medical staff members, administration staff members, nursing staff members, medical technicians and other staff members working in 23 accredited hospitals in Korea. In this analysis hierarchical multiple regression and structural equation model were used. The conclusion of this study provides a theoretical model for understanding organizational changes brought about by accreditation system. Factor on improvement of efficiency and raise the morale, rather than increase of medical income and reduce of the cost factors, had a stronger influence on the accreditation process. In the future, the hospital's participation to induce the accreditation program voluntarily will come up with an alternative policy concern about financial perspective. Also, the hospitals which preparing accreditation program to achieve the goal efficiently, will make use of transformational leadership through enhancing individual consideration and intellectual development to leading members participation. Additionally, non-accredited hospitals should aim at professional culture by innovative and creative approaches, and inviting members to learning and growth in the organization.
