In this manuscript, a modified single sampling plan is proposed for the inspection of products in which the nonconforming items can be classified in to two categories namely critical and non-critical; and explained with the help of industrial example. The operating procedure of this plan is also proposed and the performance measures such as the probability of acceptance, average sample number, average total inspection and average out going quality are also derived. The optimal parameters are determined which will have minimum sample size. The efficiency of the proposed plan is also discussed over the conventional single sampling plan. The extensive tables for selecting a modified single sampling plan based on AQL and LQL are provided for both Binomial and Poisson distributions and explained with the help of industrial data.

The purpose of the safety management plan under the Construction Technology Promotion Act is to improve the quality and safety of construction engineers during construction work. To prevent a collapse accident of a facility after completion by preventing a collapse accident of gravel, an earthwork, a river structure or the like. In order to prevent collapses, the purpose of the project is to study measures to improve the ability of construction technology promotion law to ensure the quality of construction materials at the time of construction work.

To develop a watershed management plan for protection of the lake water quality, the linkages among land use activities, stream water quality, and lake water quality must be understood. This study conducted to develop a Decision Support System(DSS) for the reservoir water quality managers and a comprehensive watershed management plan. This DSS has three main components; database, interactive decision model, and data delivery interface system. Graphic User Interface(GUI) was developed as the interface medium to deliver the data and modeling results to the end users. Water quality management scenarios in Yongdam reservoir consist of two parts. One is the watershed management, and the other is water quality management in the reservoir. The watershed management scenarios that were evaluated include as follows : a removal of point sources, control of waste water treatment plant, reductions in nonpoint sources, and the management of developed land. Water quality management scenarios in the reservoir include to install a curtain wall and to operate an algae removal system. The results from the scenario analysis indicate that the strategy of the reservoir water quality management can promise the best effectiveness to conserve the quality of reservoir water. It is expected that many local agencies can use this DSS to analyze the impact of landuse changes and activities on the reservoir watershed and can benefit from making watershed management decisions.

Quite a few of persons often fall into an error that ISO has happened an additional work at construction sites. Supervision works, however, are carried out in compliance with 'Guidelines for the Supervision Works' which is including most ISO Requirements. Additional requirements needed for the supervision works are not many. This study has studied on the ISO application of supervision works in relation to, 1) ISO 9001 & KS A 9001 Quality Management System Basic Model, 2) The Process of Railway Construction Work Supervision Quality Management Plan, 3) Supervision Work Performance Guide Book(2005) & KS A 9001(2001) Standard, at the railway construction sites.

The management system was designed based on the existing research results and domestic and foreign cases of public service standardization, targeting the entire public service.

This study is for figuring out major components of construction quality infrastructure and suggesting improvement plan by benchmarking global best practice model and analyzing gap between the model and sample practice. Based on improvement plan, researcher could derive major characters and components of construction quality infrastructure, and also about the priority among core competency components of construction quality experts. The result showed that the 'human resource' was ranked the best priority followed by 'method' 'environment', 'equipment' among major characters and components of construction quality infrastructure. Also, for core competency components of construction quality experts, 'number of years in work places' was the best priority, and the 'professional knowledge on engineering' was another priority ranked. Far from general perception on competency components, 'academic education' ranked the last. It may allude that the current education system in this country is not effective in developing competency of quality engineers. In summary, this study shows professionalism of quality engineer is the most important thing in all the components.

This paper presents new compromise ALT plan which is applied to situations that true relationship between stress and parameters is not known exactly. The assumed failure distribution of this study is one of location-scale family, i. e., exponential, Weibull, and lognormal distributions which have been ones of the popular choices of failure distributions. The method of applying the stress is constant, and the censoring mechanism is Type I censoring. Compared with existing compromise plans under true simple linear model in terms of statistical efficiency, the efficiency of new compromise plan is better than the corresponding other compromise ones in most cases. For case when true model is quadratic, this plan can be used without any severe loss in statistical efficiency. The proposed new compromise ALT plan is illustrated with a numerical example and sensitivity analyses are conducted to study effects of pre-estimates of design parameters.

This paper presents the optimal and practical constant-stress accelerated life test plans for the lognormal lifetime distribution tinder assumptions of intermittent inspection and Type-I censoring. In an optimal plan, the low stress level and the proportions of test units allocated at each stress are determined under given inspection scheme and number of inspections such that the asymptotic variance of the maximum likelihood estimator of a certain quantile at use condition is minimized. Although the practical plan adopts the same design criterion, it involves three rather than two overstress levels in order to compromise the practical deficiencies of the optimal plan. Computational experiments are conducted to choose an allocation plan and a inspection scheme of the practical plan and to compare with test plans over a range of parameter values.
