  • It is common that the process capability fluctuates as time passes, but concentrates to the mean value. To keep up process capability with given limits is vital to stability of process. Various control charts, especially ${\sigma}-chart$, have been used for analyzing process capability, but It sometimes can not give distinct answer. So this paper introduces another analyzing method by ARMA (autoregressive moving average) which is originally developed for forecasting, and demonstrates the analyzing methodology through a case study.

  • Process capability indices are used to determine whether a production process is capable of producing items within a specified tolerance. Using conditional distribution, we study some process capability indices ${\hat{C}}_{Gp}$, ${\hat{C}}_{Gpk}$, ${\hat{C}}_{Gpm}$ under conjugate prior distribution. We consider some process capability indices with Gibbs sampling method. Also, we examine some small sample properties related to these estimaters by some simulations.

  • This paper is a brief review of the different procedures that are available for fitting theoretical distributions to data. The use of each technique Is illustrated by reference to a distribution system which including the Pearson, Johnson and Burr functions. These functions can be used to calculate percent out of specification. Therefore, in this paper a new method for estimating a measure of process capability for Gamma distributed variable data proposed using the percentage nonconforming. Process capability indices combines with the percentage nonconforming Information can be used to evaluate more accurately process capability.

  • SCM system is a strategic cooperative that organically integrates all supply chains to improve the performance of a company. For effective SCM system, emphasis is placed on securing long-term, mutual relationships and change management. The implementation of an SCM system is likely to introduce a wide range of changes in and across member organizations and these changes are likely to be met with scepticism and resistance by individuals and organizations in the chain. Thus, the success of an SCM system cannot be guaranteed without effective change management. And we adopted the concept of information orientation (IO) as our method to measure the performance of an SCM system through information quality and information sharing. Therefore, this study examined the influence of mutual, reciprocal relationships among change management on information capability through information quality and information Sharing. The results of this study can be summarized as follows. First, change management had a significant influence on information quality, information Sharing and information capability. Second, information quality had a significant influence on information Sharing and information capability. Third, information sharing had a significant influence on information capability.

  • This paper presents a process incapability index to provide manager with various information of process and to reduce cost. The introduced process incapability indices indicate information about mean and variance of manufacturing process and variance of inspection process to evaluate process capability using ratio of variance and difference between target and mean to specification. This model can be used by the scale of six sigma management.

The Associations between SCM Collaboration, New Product Development, and Organizational Culture (SCM 협력, 신제품 개발, 조직문화의 관계)

  • Although many prior studies have investigated the relationship between supply chain and new product development (NPD), the causal relationship between them has not been clearly established. Therefore, this study investigated systematically over the entire process of supply chain management (SCM) from trust to NPD capability, including not only the associations between trust, commitment, collaboration, supply chain quality, and NPD capability, but also the impact of organizational culture in the context of supply chain. In particular, this study examined the mediating effect of commitment on the relationship between trust and collaboration of channel members. In addition, it studies the moderating effect of organizational culture on the relationship between collaboration, supply chain quality, and NPD capability. Using a questionnaire survey, 112 usable responses are obtained. PLS (partial least square) is employed to assess the relationships among related constructs. The results of the data analysis show that (1) commitment mediates the link between trust and collaboration (2) supply chain quality is positively associated with NPD capability, and (3) organizational culture significantly moderates the association between collaboration and supply chain quality, yet it does not the relationship SC quality and NPD capability. Finally, the implications of the results are discussed, and directions for future research are suggested.

The Effect of Startup Internship Education Service Quality on Entrepreneurial Capability and Entrepreneurial Intentions (창업인턴십교육 서비스 품질이 창업역량과 창업의지에 미치는 영향)

  • Purpose: This study was designed to examine the casual relationships among startup internship service quality and entrepreneurial capability, entrepreneurial intention in startup education. Also, we intended to explore significant factors on use entrepreneurial intention through causal model analysis in the viewpoint of total effect. Methods: Questionnaire, as a research tool, has gotten validity and reliability through literature study, exploratory study and pretest and sample 123 was selected. To carry out statistical treatment of pretest and main analysis, SPSS18.0 were employed and regression model was employed as analysis method. Results: Result of this study shows as follows. Three factors (empathy, responsiveness and assurance) have an effect entrepreneurial capability and entrepreneurial intention. We found that with an importance of empathy, responsiveness and assurance can be useful and significant factors in causal relationship of startup internship education. Conclusion: The present study shows that three factors(empathy, responsiveness and assurance) in via of entrepreneurial capability and entrepreneurial intention, were important factors that related startup education have to emphasize to raise performance, And also we confirmed new 5 factor 'empathy, responsiveness, assurance, reliability and tangibles'through this study. However, the present study has some limitations to be studied in the future.

  • It is necessary to deal with the process capability index carefully because it has been developed with certain assumptions. Companies make a decision on processes through the results obtained by using and treating data extracted from the processes. However if they have incorrect or wrong results, they cannot lead to proper outputs but also bring to loss of the competition in quality. Therefore, this study will show a method to analysis Cp (process capability ; CP) and an idea of mass-production on Pp (process performance ; PP) based on the Sigma Estimate which is one of the uncertainty in the process capability index and makes a lot of error. To apply this method, it is essential to understand and to analyze the processes exactly. Especially, it is required to establish the more accurate process capability index that can quickly and properly respond to changes on processes to recognize the small changes on the process which lies in specification in mass production system that the continual monitoring of quality managers is required.

  • As we understand it, Process Capability indices are intended to provide single-number assessments of ability to meet specification limits on quality characteristics of interest. As a consequence of the varied ways in which PCIs are used, there have been two natural lines of research work: $\circled1$ studies on the properties of PCIs and their estimators in many different environments; $\circled2$ construction of new PCIs purporting to have better properties in certain circumstances. The most of existing process capability indices are concerned with the single variable. But, in many cases, a quality characteristic is composed with several factors. In that case, we want to know the integrated process capability of a quality characteristic not those of each factor. In this paper, we proposed a new multivariate system process capability index called $MSPCI:SC_{psk}$ which is the geometric mean of performance measure $C_{psk}$'S, and will be used as the criterion to assess multiple response process designs. Numerical illustration is done for $SC_{psk}$, $\overline{C_p}$(f), Cp, Cpk, Cpm, and Cpsk.

Capability, Service Orientation, and Performance in the Investment Management Industry

  • Prior research has emphasized the significant effect of service orientation on organizational performance. However, little research on service orientation has been conducted in the financial field, including the investment management service industry in which high quality service for clients is required. In this paper, we propose a research model that centers on the concept of service orientation as a type of dynamic capability affecting firm performance. The research variables include job competency, risk management capability, operational capability, service orientation, and service performance. We assume that service orientation partially mediates the effects of risk management capability and operational capability on service performance. To test the model, we collected data from 391 fund managers in 86 teams (37 investment management companies) and analyzed it with partial least squares (PLS) method. Each of the 391 fund managers was asked to answer team level measures, which is effective for team level analysis. We find that job competency positively affects both risk management capability and operational capability, which in turn affect service orientation. Risk management capability and operational capability are assumed to directly affect service performance. However, risk management capability does not influence perceived service performance, whereas operational capability does affect it. This result indicates that risk management capability does not directly affect service performance. However, via service orientation, considering that risk management inconveniences customers and is geared to enhance service orientation, service performance is positively affected. Operational capability does not influence service orientation, whereas it affects perceived service performance. This result reveals that operational capability directly affects firm performance. As expected, service orientation significantly affects the service performance perception of fund managers. This study contributes to the literature by introducing service orientation to the financial industry and measures and tests team-level service performance. Our findings also provide insights to practitioners because to enhance team performance, managers must focus on service orientation in addition to operational capability.
