  • This study reflects our conviction that the maintenance of the landscape plants in apartment housing areas has appeared as an important factor. The defects ratio of the landscape plants shows high in the study, which tells us a serious situation were facing in consideration of the quality of residential Life. Methods for the effective maintenance of the landscape plants are recommended as follows; First, the landscape plants in apartment housing areas should be maintained by a specialist in landscape architecture. Second, the co-operative maintenance between inhabitants and specialists is required. Third, the over-all understanding of the landscape plants should be improved.

  • Since water leakage and cracks are not the source of serious problems such as long-term lowering of performance and durability of a stricture, including damages to operating facilities of a structure, damages to internal finishing materials, exhibition, and goods, and pollution of residential environment, they might have led to development of positive coping skills; however, an instant loss of lives or property due to earthquake, explosion, typhoon, or a fire was indeed neglected. In these days, repair materials for leakage cannot help but being taken in temporary way without any noticeable countermeasure. This kind of repair is socially criticized many times that is defective construction even if this costs a lot. It was not arrange the standard for construction methods of sealer of injection type for leakage maintenance, even it has been used various type of construction methods for leakage part. In conclusion, we suggest that the construction methods of sealer of injection type for leakage maintenance for leakage to establish the leakage repairing technology as increase of structure demand. Therefore, it would be possible to provide a stage-by-stage solution by developing systematic research activities among the industry, schools, and research institutes to spread maintenance management techniques globally through technical solution to water leakage and cracks, acquisition of structural safety with prolonged durability for life cycle, reduction of water leakage repair expense s, and so on.

  • As time goes by, educational facilities have become superannuated and damaged; therefore, performance and safety of buildings have been decreased. It causes the decrease of service quality and deterioration of educational environment. In order to protect facilities from serious damages and deterioration, a consistent maintenance and repair program is required. The educational facilities can keep the good educational environments and also make better environments through the program. This study is made by investigating and analyzing the maintenance data which was collected from fifty schools in Asan area, Chungchengnam-do in order to derive foundation data for the efficient educational environment maintenance program.

  • In farming area, the elderly population is increasing year after year. And the gap between farming area and the city regarding quality of life is getting bigger and bigger. Besides, it has much poorer ground for living than the city. The current farming village maintenance project is adopting a different system now from the top-down project exclusively led by the government in the past to the bottom-up one reflecting how the residents think positively. Lack of the residents' understanding and education about the maintenance project, however, some of them are just focused on maintenance and development distorted from making a village where people want to live. Accordingly, this study will analyze the characteristics of farming villages by their types based on field research and spatial analysis using Space Syntax in order to develop more premeditated and effective maintenance plans to perform maintenance in farming area. As a result, When you install streetlights street lights should be installed at places with a high of Connectivity and spatial depth is deep. Based on this method, the research is going to suggest the current status of street furniture improvement in the villages and the proper positions for their future installation.

A Study on the Repair Method for Performance Degradation Cause of Korean Arch Bridge -Focused on the Seonamsa Seungseonggyo, Songgwangsa Geukrockgyo- (홍예교 성능저하 원인에 따른 보수방안 고찰 - 선암사 승선교·송광사 극락교를 중심으로 -)

  • This study considers the proper repair techniques by examining the most representative repair cases of the Korean arch bridges and proposes the constructional manual which can apply similar occasions. The cases are Seonamsa Seungseongyo and Songgwangsa Geukrockgyo where this researcher had taken part in the repair works. This Study proposes the maintenance construction manual about the performance degradation drew by performance degradation of the both Korean arch bridges in the maintenance process. First, arch bridge maintenance should be carried out in the dry season, when water is impermeable in the bottom surface of the bridge. Moreover, risk factors of the maintenance should be excluded to secure the water vally flow, the bypass and the temporary bridge. Second, prior to repair, it has to precede (1)3D shooting (2)formal examination (3)structure safety test (4)geological and lithic surveys (5)arch curvature establishment and makeshift frame settlement before transformation (6)relationship expert comments. Third, if the baduk and the foundation stones are inevitable to replace due to performance degradation on the foundation, it should use the high quality stones and secure greater stress by extending the standard range. The foundation on irregular rock needs to be flattened and underside on the replaced materials require Grengyijil to deliver the equal loads. Fourth, In the process of dismantling the stones of the arched bridge, it could make heavy weathering degree and not reuse the materials. Charge should converge the expert advices to choose the reuseable, the conservate and the alternative materials, and increase the reutilization of the raw materials by preservation and reinforcement treatments. Fifth, the side wall should be repaired by the rubble work technique which is not able to pile compost satiety, so it must use long depth of masonary stones for reinforcement. It is considered to reinforce the stone wall in shore as much as possible and protect the abutment and the side wall on the upstream for the arch bridge maintenance works.

  • Seoul, although having a housing stock as huge as that of world metropolitan cities, have implemented growth-oriented policies by constructing new housing units rather than using or rehabilitating existing ones. There were, therefore, few political efforts to preserve and rehabilitate multiple dwellings. Today, substantial time has passed since multiple dwellings in Seoul and the first-stage new cities such as Bundang and Ilsan were constructed. What is required to maintain the quality of the existing housing and use it with safety is loan, subsidy and tax incentive programs which are able to promote the maintenance of existing multiple dwellings. The objective of this study is to compare and analyze the maintenance systems of financial assistance(the loan, subsidy and tax incentive programs)of the world's largest cities with various housing types, I e New York and Tokyo, and then to propose to Seoul a framework for the maintenance systems.

  • Through this study, the following proposals were made to secure the operability of local governments' records management systems (RMSs). First, for the stable operation and maintenance of RMS, establishing a noninterruptible system with regular operation support is necessary. Second, improving the maintenance quality above a certain level by establishing an integrated RMS maintenance system is imperative. Third, systematically managing the RMS infrastructure compatibility list should be vital to provide clear standards for maintaining local governments' RMS structure.

  • In recent years, numerous mega-sized and complex civil infrastructures are being constructed all over the world. Therefore, more precise construction and maintenance technologies are required for these complicated construction projects. Especially, exact strength measurement and curing process monitoring of the concrete structures are very crucial to confirm the safety and effectiveness of these complicated structures. In this paper, a new Quick Response (QR) code-based concrete strength labeling technique using embedded self-sensing monitoring system is introduced. It is important to note that the QR code-based concrete labeling technique enables easy access of the databases related to the concrete strength at anytime, anywhere, and any smart PC devices. Finally, by integrating the proposed QR code-based concrete labeling with the concrete strength databases already prepared at a designated web-server, a feasibility of the current system is investigated for a next generation concrete life-cycle quality maintenance.

  • In the field of public informatization maintenance business, the attacks of external illegal users such as unauthorized leakage, destruction, and alteration due to intentional or inadequate management of personal information are increasing. In order to prevent such security incidents in advance, it is necessary to develop and quantitatively manage SLA indicators. This study presents the privacy SLA indicators and suggests specific methods such as information collection method and timing of the privacy SLA indicators. In order to confirm the validity and reliability of the proposed SLA indicators, an online survey was conducted with a group of experts. As a result, it was evaluated that compliance rate of personal information destruction and compliance rate of personal information protection system would be effective when applied to new and revised SLA indicators in terms of importance and validity. In the future, using SLA indicators for personal information protection as a standard for public information maintenance will contribute to improving SW quality and securing safety.

  • Wu and Clements-Croome (2005) suggest the preventive maintenance (PM) model with random maintenance quality. They assume that each PM resets the failure rate to zero and the rate of increases of the failure rate gets higher after each additional PM. However a system may not be restored to as good as new immediately after the completion of PM. Thus, this paper modifies the Wu and Clements-Croome's PM model and then the optimal PM policy is suggested. To determine the optimal PM policy, we utilize the expected cost rate per unit time for our model. That is, we obtain the optimal number and the optimal period by minimizing the expected cost rate per unit time. The numerical examples are presented for illustrative purpose.
