This paper presents methodological paradigms : quantitative positivistic (logical empiricism) as the received tradition in the scientific inquiry and qualitative naturalistic (post -positivism or nataralism) as a new paradigm in the Kuhnian sense. Various kind of qualitative methods under the umbrella term, qualitative inquiry, were briefly introduced. Details on the definition, epistemology, naming of subject, field technique (participant observation and ethnographic interview) of ethnographic research method as an adequate method for studying on the unique nursing phenomena in Korean culture were done. Besides, the concept of triangulation, issues on the methododogical paradigm, a criteria for rigor of qualitative naturalistic inquiry were mentioned.

In this paper, a case study of basic data science practice education for field teachers and pre-service teachers was studied. In this paper, for basic data science education, spreadsheet software was used as a data collection and analysis tool. After that, we trained on statistics for data processing, predictive hypothesis, and predictive model verification. In addition, an educational case for collecting and processing thousands of public big data and verifying the population prediction hypothesis and prediction model was proposed. A 34-hour, 17-week curriculum using a spreadsheet tool was presented with the contents of such basic education in data science. As a tool for data collection, processing, and analysis, unlike Python, spreadsheets do not have the burden of learning program- ming languages and data structures, and have the advantage of visually learning theories of processing and anal- ysis of qualitative and quantitative data. As a result of this educational case study, three predictive hypothesis test cases were presented and analyzed. First, quantitative public data were collected to verify the hypothesis of predicting the difference in the mean value for each group of the population. Second, by collecting qualitative public data, the hypothesis of predicting the association within the qualitative data of the population was verified. Third, by collecting quantitative public data, the regression prediction model was verified according to the hypothesis of correlation prediction within the quantitative data of the population. And through the satisfaction analysis of pre-service and field teachers, the effectiveness of this education case in data science education was analyzed.

This study aims to investigate an approach to teach proportional reasoning in elementary mathematics class by analyzing the proportional strategies the students use to solve the proportional reasoning tasks and their percentages of correct answers. For this research 174 sixth graders are examined. The instrument test consists of various questions types in reference to the previous study; the proportional reasoning tasks are divided into algebraic-geometric, quantitative-qualitative and missing value-comparisons tasks. Comparing the percentages of correct answers according to the task types, the algebraic tasks are higher than the geometric tasks, quantitative tasks are higher than the qualitative tasks, and missing value tasks are higher than the comparisons tasks. As to the strategies that students employed, the percentage of using the informal strategy such as factor strategy and unit rate strategy is relatively higher than that of using the formal strategy, even after learning the cross product strategy. As an insightful approach for teaching proportional reasoning, based on the study results, it is suggested to teach the informal strategy explicitly instead of the informal strategy, reinforce the qualitative reasoning while combining the qualitative with the quantitative reasoning, and balance the various task types in the mathematics classroom.
For the studies of germ cell development and maturation in the ovary, the gametogenic cycle and the number of spawning seasons per year in female Ruditapes philippinarum were investigated by quantitative statistical analysis using an Image Analyzer System. Compared with the results by qualitative and quantitative analyses, monthly variations in female gonad indice by qualitative histological analysis showed a pattern similar to that of the female gametogenic cycle calculated by quantitative statistical analysis. The number of spawning seasons occurred once per year, from June to October. In quantitative statistical analysis using an image analyzer system, monthly changes in the portions (%) of the ovary area to total tissue areas in females increased in March and reached a maximum in May, and then showed a rapid decrease from June to October when spawning occurred. And also monthly changes in portions (%) of follicle areas to the ovary area and in portions of oocyte areas to ovarian tissue areas in females began to increase in March and reached a maximum in May, and then. rapidly dropped from June to October when spawnig occurred. From these data, it is apparent that the number of spawning seasons occurred once per year, from June to October. Monthly changes in the number of the oocyte per $mm^2$ and in mean diameter of the oocyte in captured image which were calculated for each female slide showed a maximum in May and reached the minimum from December to February. Therefore, female R. philippinarum showed a unimodal gametogenic cycle during the year.
This study presents quantitative evaluation standards for they mobility test, conducted in the process of a slacks fit test. This study quantified the subjects' evaluation on the wearability of slacks to provide objective qualitative evaluation methods for existing mobility tests. The subjects were women of standard bodytype between the ages of 18 and 24 wearing slacks designed to test their mobility based on differences in ease in waist girth, hip girth, crotch length and knee length. A qualitative evaluation tested the wearability of slacks. Clothing pressure and gap area between the body and slacks were measured based on a quantitative evaluation. The clothing pressure and the gap area between the body and slacks (which reflect the results of the wearability test) were presented in this study as quantitative evaluation standards. Clothing pressure tended to increase as the ease of slacks decreased; however, clothing pressure standards, that induce discomfort, differed by body parts. The hip, crotch, and knee area were relatively less sensitive despite the waist and the abdominal area sensitivity to clothing pressure. This study suggests the minimum ease for the appropriate wearing comfort of slacks by region and motion as standards for the quantitative evaluation of mobility tests. These was reset in accordance to the limits of clothing pressure when the minimum ease was considered as wearable but exceeded the clothing pressure limits.

The gametogenic cycle, the spawning season and the biological minimum sizes in female and male Protothaca (Notochione) jedoensis were investigated by quantitative statistical analysis. In females, monthly changes in the percents of the follicle areas to the ovarian tissue areas and the percents of the oocyte areas to the ovarian tissue areas increased in February and reached the maximum in April, and then gradually decreased from May to July, with the spawning peak between June and July. In males, monthly changes in the percents of the testicular tissue areas to total tissue areas and the percents of the spermatogenic stage areas to the testicular tissue areas increased in February and reached the maximum in April, and then showed a rapid decrease from May to July. From these data, it is apparent that the number of spawning seasons in female and male P. (N.) jedoensis occurred once a year, from May to July. Therefore, P. (N.) jedoensis in both sexes showed a unimodal gametogenic cycle during the year. Compared the gametogenic cycle by quantitative statistical analysis in 2007 with the previous qualitative results of this species, the results of the gametogenic cycle calculated by quantitative statistical analysis showed some differentiations in the spawning seasons evaluated by the gonad index by qualitative histological analysis. The intervals of the beginning of two spawning seasons showed one month between the results of quantitative and qualitative analyses. The biological minimum sizes (considering to 50% of group sexual maturity) in female and male clams by quantitative analysis of this species are 32.01 mm in shell length in females and 30.58 mm in males, respectively. According to the mean shell length fitted to von Bertalanffy's equation, 30.58 and 32.01 mm in shell length were considered to be two years old. Therefore, we assume that both sexes of this population begin reproduction from two years of age.

In the modern communicative age, the standards of the school libraries are the qualitative guarantee on the services of school libraries or school library media programs, as the guidline, the active guide, the policy documentation and criteria for the professional excellence. The standards of SLMP were revised the sixth time by the school library profession(ALA) with the members or agency of NEA in the U.S. There are the first standard was a quantitative; 'the Certain Report'(by A.L.A., 1920) appearing that the school library is the heart of the school, 2nd 1925; turning up the teaching material source and personel, 'School Libraries for today and tomorrow' (by AASL, 1945) incluseing the instructional materials and the 7th educational ideas in the quantitative feature, 'Standards for School Library Programs' (by AASL, 1960) expressing the instructional material center, communicative environment, learning and teaching laboratory, 'Standards for school media programs' (by DAVI & AASL, 1969) implicating the instructional resource, learning and teaching laboratory, the condition precedent of qualitative education for excellence, 'Standards for media programs; District/school (by AASL & AECT, 1975) containing the improving user's educational experience and personal freedom on the use of SLMP's services. Through changing the standards of SLMP in the US, We have known that the main educational idea in the standards are; (1) SLMP is the instructional force and resource for qualitative, excellence education by learning and teaching laboratory, instructional resource, communicative environment (2) SLMP is the actualizing force and resource for user's self-realization by intellectual and personal excellence, individualizing, humanizing and personalizing education.
Broadcasting services sector has been facing strong public pressure to shift gears from regulation to deregulation since mid-1990s, where a triggering role was played particularly by rapid development of IT technology and content digitization. Major agenda was how to reduce regulatory divides between more liberal telecommunication sector and less liberal broadcasting. After all, common solution package worldwide was for the latter to switch over from network-dependent(vertical) to network-independent(horizontal) regulation, and to facilitate more open and competitive transmission with content market kept protected. This is no other than decoupling content provision from broadcasting and promoting market access towards the latter. Policy experiences of US and UK show that there exists a complementary relationship between quantitative and qualitative restrictions in implementing such deregulation. While mitigating quantitative ownership regulations in broadcasting, they also sought to systematize, so-called, PIT(public interest test) as a qualitative safety device to cope with the risk of losing fundamental public values accordingly in broadcasting. Recent domestic progress in broadcasting legislation in 2009, however, seems to overlook the growing importance of PIT in the process of deregulation. Bearing this motivation in mind and taking account of the relevant WTO disciplines, this paper is to address policy issues and suggestions for PIT in Korea's broadcasting services sector.

Purpose: This study examines the history of the evolution of MS analysis and intends to consider the future direction of technological development through the difference from the latest technology, SIFT-MS. Research design, data and methodology: A method of analysis will be described in detail at the below by SIFT-MS (Selected Ion Flow Mass Spectrometry), which is a technology developed by a company called SIFT Technologies. Results: The initial concept of mass spectrometry was begun in the late 1890s, and it continues to evolve even after the 21st century through the ripening stage of the 20th century. The development process of mass spectrometry by year has been described in detail in the Main text. Conclusions: Mass spectrometry, qualitative and quantitative analysis of substances plays a very important role in the research and medical fields. The development of these analytical methods is expected to continue in the future, and faster and more accurate qualitative analysis and mass spectrometry will be developed than the level currently reached. In addition, it is expected that hardware and software will be configured so that non-analysis experts can handle it easily, and it will be used as a technology that is more closely related to our lives.
The purpose of this study was to analyze quantitative and qualitative differences according to shoe type for the grand jete landing in ballet. The subjects for this study were 9 female ballet majors with an average of 12 years of experience. Subjects jumped, performing a front split, and landed on 1 foot, a movement called the grand jete. Analysis was performed on the students' landing. Independent variables were 3 shoe types: split sole, traditional out sole, and 5-toed forefoot shoes, with bare feet as a control group. Dependent variables were vertical passive ground reaction force and qualitative elements. Passive ground reaction force variables(maximum passive peak value, number of passive peaks, passive force-time integral, and center of pressure) were measured by the Kistler 9281B Force Platform. Qualitative elements were comfort, cushioning, pain, and fit. Statistical analysis included both 1-way ANOVA and Tukey's test for follow-up. Finalized data demonstrated that the 5-toed forefoot shoe allows the forefoot to expand and the toes to individually press down upon landing, increasing foot contact with the surface. Five-toed forefoot shoes minimize passive peaks and pain, while increasing comfort, cushioning, and fit. Most ballet movements are composed of jumping, balancing, landing, and spinning. Wearing 5-toed forefoot shoes allows for a natural range of movement in each toe, to improve both technique and balance. Pain and injuries from ballet can be minimized by wearing the correct shoe type. According to this analysis, it is possible to customized ballet shoes to increase the efficiency of techniques and movements.
