Purpose : To shorten processing time for variety of medical affairs of the patient at the outpatient clinic of a big hospital is very important to qualify medical care of the patient. Therefore, patient's waiting time for drug delivery after doctor's prescription is often utilized as a strong tool to evaluate patient satisfaction with a medical care provided. We performed this study to investigate factors influencing patient satisfaction related with waiting time for drug delivery. Methods : The data were collected from July 21 to August 12, 1998. A total 535 patients or their families who visited outpatient clinics of Inha University Hospital were subjected to evaluate the drug delivery time and the level of their satisfaction related, which were compared with those objectively evaluated by Quality Improvement Team. The reliability of the scale was tested with Cronbach's alpha, and the data were analyzed using frequency, t-test, ANOVA, correlation analysis and multiple regression. Results : The mean drug delivery time subjectively evaluated by the patient (16.1 13.0 min) was longer than that objectively evaluated (10.9 7.6 min) by 5.2 min. Drug delivery time objectively evaluated was influenced by the prescription contents, total amount or type of drug dispensed, etc, as expected. The time discrepancy between two evaluations was influenced by several causative factors. One of those proved to be a patient's late response to the information from the pharmacy which the drug is ready to deliver. Interestingly, this discrepancy was found to be more prominent especially when waiting place for drug delivery was not less crowded. Other factors, pharmaceutical counseling at the pharmacy, emotional status or behavior of a patient while he waits for the medicine, were also found to influence the time subjectively evaluated. Regarding the degree of patient satisfaction with the drug delivery, majority of patients accepted drug delivery time with less than 10 min. It was also found to be influenced by emotional status of the patient as well as kindness or activity of pharmaceutical counselor. Conclusion : The results show that, besides prescription contents, behavior pattern or emotional status of a patient, environment of the waiting place, and quality of pharmaceutical counseling at the pharmacy, may influence the patient's subjective evaluation of waiting time for drug delivery and his satisfaction related with the service in the big hospital. In order to improve patient satisfaction related with waiting time for drug delivery, it will be cost effective to qualify pharmaceutical counseling and information system at the drug delivery site or waiting place rather than to shorten the real processing time within the pharmacy.

In order to provide personalized knowledge recommendation services, most web portals for organizational knowledge management use category or keyword information that portal users explicitly express interests in. However, it is usually difficult to collect correct preference data for all users with this approach, and, moreover, users' preferences may easily change over time, which results In outdated user profiles and impaired recommendation qualify. In order to address this problem, this paper suggests knowledge recommendation methods for portals using user profiles that are automatically constructed from users' activities such as posting or uploading of articles and documents. The result of our experiment shows that the Proposed method can provide equivalent performance with the manual category or keyword selection method.

Most commercially available detonation nanodiamonds (DNDs) require further processing to qualify for use in biomedical applications, as they often contain many impurities and exhibit poor dispersibility in aqueous media. In this work, DNDs are modified to improve purity and impart a high colloidal stability to the particles. The dispersive and adsorption properties of modified DNDs are evaluated in terms of the suitability of DNDs as carriers for non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) in transdermal delivery. The study of adsorption on strongly positively and strongly negatively charged DNDs showed their high loading capacity for NSAIDs, and a pronounced relationship between the drugs and the particles' charges. Experiments on long-term desorption carried out with DND/NSAID complexes indicate that the nanoparticles exert a sustained effect on the drug release process.

This paper presents a direction that can help PC sales manager establish more effective marketing strategy by understanding how they get information on the products and what they consider most when the consumers purchase personal Computer. The survey was conducted on the two groups of OSAN College students classified according to their computer handling skill. Frequency analysis has shown that consumers largely got information on the products through word of mouth of friends or family members rather than mass media advertisement. And factor analysis has shown that consumers consider the qualify of after service has brand name most when they buy PC. Particularly, the consumers who are good at dealing with PC are more concerned with the quality of after service, brand name, salesman's kindness and delivery-installation than the ones having poor PC skills are. This survey results indicate that PC sales managers need to set up different marketing strategies in accordance with the consumer's PC utilizing capability.

Over the last few years, streaming audio and video content on Internet sites has increased at unprecedented rates. The predominant method of delivering video over the current Internet is video streaming such as SureStream or Intelligent Stream. Since each method provides the client with only one data stream from one server, it often suffers from poor qualify of pictures in the case of network link congestion. In this paper, we propose a novel method of delivering video stream based on wavelet to a client by utilizing multi-threaded parallel connections from the client to multiple servers and to provides a better way to address the scalability functionalities. The experimental results show that the video quality delivered by the proposed multithreaded stream could significantly be improved over the conventional single video stream methods.

This paper studies the quality of the major domestic job information sites and compares the strong and weak points of them. The study was conducted with respect to the user satisfaction by asking job seekers and employers. Questionnaires consist of three factors: quality of information, quality of delivery, quality of environment, each factor of which contains several sub-questions. The results showed that the quality of information was the most important factor to both job seekers and job Provider. The lower job providers' satisfaction than job seekers' indicated more various services should be developed fer job providers. Specially, Personal information is not protected well enough to satisfy job seekers, so improvement plan is required. Public job information site requires as much service level as private job information sites.

The proxy mechanism widely used in WWW systems offers low-delay data delivery by means of "proxy server". By applying the proxy mechanisms to the video streaming system, we expect that high-quality and low-delay video distribution can be accomplished without introducing extra load on the system. In addition, it is effective to adapt the quality of cached video data appropriately in the proxy if user requests are diverse due to heterogeneity in terms of the available bandwidth, end-system performance, and user′s preferences on the perceived video quality. We have proposed proxy caching mechanisms to accomplish the high-quality and highly-interactive video streaming services. In our proposed system, a video stream is divided into blocks for efficient use of the cache buffer. The proxy server is assumed to be able to adjust the quality of a cached or retrieved video block to the request through video filters. In this paper, to verify the practicality of our mechanisms, we implemented them on a real system and conducted experiments. Through evaluations from several performance aspects, it was shown that our proposed mechanisms can provide users with a low-latency and high-quality video streaming service in a heterogeneous environment.

The connection based TCP protocol provides reliable packet delivery, but it takes certain overhead compare to the connection-less UDP protocol. Thus, 3GPP devise the upper-layer RLC protocol which provides reliability based upon the UDP protocol. Consequently, each implement of a base station and/or mobile terminal require the development of the RLC protocol, and it must qualify various interoperable tests. In this paper, we implement a testbed which verifies the RLC protocol under various packet losses/inversion circumstances of networks. Finally, we propose our testbed as the RLC protocol tester for the developments.

This study was conducted to find out how the team organization works and to suggest better ways of applying the team system to a library organization. In this study, the survey was conducted to examine the characteristics of the university libraries that have adopted the team system, and the problems in operation were analysed. The findings indicate that staffs at the university libraries had a comparatively negative image of the team system, and that university library has provided insufficient training and less supports for their staffs in the process of adopting the system. This study might be applicable to any strategy which seeks to reduce bureaucracy, empower staff, create a team system culture. and enhance the delivery of high qualify services.
