In order to study the effects of emitted-qi therapy, Youngyeonondamtang and Jeokyeonondamtang on the mice bearing ascites cancer caused by Sarcoma 180, the author divided the mice into normal group, control group, EQ group, YO group, JO group, CTX+QE group, CTX+YO group, CTX+JO group, and treated with emitted -qi therapy and administrated Youngyeonondamtang, Jeokyeononondaintang and Cyclophosphamide (CTX). After collecting blood from the mice, measured the values of Prothrombin Time(PT), Partial Thromboplastin Time(PTT), Fibrinogen, White Blood Cell(WBC) and Platelet. The results were as follows, 1. PT was not showed any significant change in ever)r group, being compared with the control group. 2. H increased significantly in YO group, being compared with the control group. 3. Fibrinogen decreased significantly in EQ group, YO group, CTX+EQ group, CTX+YO group, CTX+JO group, being compared with the control group. 4. WBC increased significantly in CTX+EQ group, CTX+YO group, CTX+JO group, being compared with the CTX group. 5. Platelet decreased significantly in every group, being compared with the control group. These results suggest that emitted-qi therapy, Youngyeonondamtang and Jeokyeonondamtang had the effects that could heal the hematopoiesis system in the mice bearing ascites cancer, and especially had the better effects in the case that hematopoiesis system has been impaired by CTX.

Objectives: In order to study the effect of the oriental medical therapy on the patients who visited Neuropsychiatry and oriental medical differentiation of symptoms and signs with ABR (Autonomic Bioelectric Response recorder)-2000, these clinical studies were performed. Methods: Sixty six patients with headache were classified into three groups; the first is tension headache, the second is migraine headache, the last is the others, each group was investigated of a various characteristic, the effect of the oriental medical therapy and stress was measured by ABR-2000. Result: 1. According to the statics, the tention headache's rate was higher than migraine; on the whole woman's rate was higher than man's. however in the migraine the rate of sex was equal. 2. According to the cause facter, oversensitiveness, overexertion, dyspepsia, etc. were numorous in the order. 3. According to the oriental medical differentiation of symptoms and signs, the rate of stagnation of the liver-qi' s fire-transmission(肝鬱化火) and deficiency of qi(氣虛), these two types were highest. result of analyzing ABR-2000 is that stagnation of the liver-qi's fire-transmission(肝鬱化火) is the highest stress. 4. According to treatment rate, 80.3 percent of patients satisfied of treatment.

1. Objectives The purpose of this study is to find the ground why constitution must be classified into 4 types. 2. Methods I analysed the basic presuppositions to class 4 Type Constitution in Sasang Constitutional Medicine(SCM). And I connected the presuppositions with other theories from the viewpoint of directional properties of human body. 3. Results and Conclusions The most important presupposition to class 4 Type Constitution and apply to clinical therapy in SCM is that there is native strength and weakness of lung's Exhale Dispersing Qi, liver's Inhale Gathering Qi, spleen's Ascending Yin Qi and kidney's Descending Yang Qi. If there is superior tendency of Qi flow direction in human body, 6 directions(upward, downward, forward, backward, outward and inward) will be remarkable. But, in embryonic period, the outer skin is originated from the back(ectoderm) and the alimentary canal is from the front(endoderm). Therefore 4 directions(upward, downward, outward and inward) will be more remarkable, and those directions are included in the former presupposition.

The spice phenomenon therapy is to adhibit aromatic herbs or materials to the human body or clothing, for the purpose of preventing and treating diseases. Mankind found the fire, and found that some plants and trees give off smoke when they are burning. Then, they found that some of aromatic substances had certain actions after being absorbed through the respiratory organ, which was the beginning of the spice phenomenon therapy. The spice phenomenon therapy is effective to relieve the exterior syndrome, to eliminate dampness, to regulate Qi flow, and to induce resuscitation. It has two actions. One is that the aromas that permeated the body, refreshes the mind, stimulates the appetite, strengthens the spleen and the stomach, and makes a relaxing sleep. The other is that the aromatic substances, absorbed into the human body, have pharmacological actions. The volatile aromatic substances have various pharmacological actions such as stimulating cranial nerves, dilating cardiac blood vessels, promoting gastric secretion, relaxing and sleep-inducing. It has been proved that the spice phenomenon therapy is anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial and is effective to dilate cerebral blood vessels and to ease the pain. It is expected to be studied more aggressively.

The purpose of this paper is to show that there is a sure effect of the Extra Gigong Therapy(EGT) on Osteoarthritis patients. 1. Methods of the Spreading-Qi, Breathe naturally, concentrate the mind on Lower Dan(elixir field), When exhaling, Mindwill accompanies Qi to go to the Conception Vessel(CV) and Governor Vessel(GV), conduct Qi to the palms or fingers and emit Qi, with the emitting site touching or leaving the treated region. Qi helps vitality exalted, balance kept, and the circulation well-flowed. 2. For that, we made a schedule of joining some of Osteoarthritis patients who usually take anti-Osteoarthritis drugs, dividing them into two of groups. One is EGT-taken(group 1) and the other is not EGT-taken(group 2). 3. For insurance of analytic accuracy, we use the IEMD(Inner Energy Meridian Diagnosis). 4. In conclusion, there was significant differences between two of groups. Especially from the point of view of liver, kidney and spleen meridian pathways.

In review of "invigorating spleen and supplementing qi" of clinical and experimental studies on malignant tumor, we obtained the conclusions as follows 1. Asthenic splenic qi is an important factor in mutation, occurrence and development of tumor. 2. The anti-tumor mechanism of "invigorating spleen and supplementing qi" is improvement of immune suveillance, controling cell proliferating period and enhancing body metabolism. 3. "Invigorating spleen and supplementing qi" is often used with "nourishing kidney" or "expelling pathogen" for treating cnacer. 4. In experimental studies, "invigorating spleen and supplementing qi" has effects on inhibiting occurrence and development of tumor, protecting mutation, inhibiting recurrence and metastasis, immune activity, enhancing metabolism, promoting bone marrow hemopoietic cell proliferation, increasing anti-tumor effect and protecting normal cells. 5. In clinical studies, "invigorating spleen and supplementing qi" has effects on prolonging the survival period of cancer patients, improving clinical symptoms and quality of life of cancer patients, degrading the side effects of western therapie(operation, chemotherapy and radiotherapy). 6. "Invigorating spleen and supplementing qi" is an extensive discipline of syndrome differentiation used to inhibit occurence, development, recurrence and metastasis.

The disease of cholelith is common world widely. As life expectancy gets extended and life environment and dietary life change, increased to gallstone in Korea. On the case that elimination surgery is inapplicable and for the aged patients. recently the dissolution therapy of cholelith is studied world widely. From the view of oriental medicine, the causes of gallstone, treatment methods and the effects of therapy are as follows ; 1. The attack of gallstone is by the stagnation and disturbance of qi in the body. 2. The causes of gallstone are classified into three types. 1).The type of stagnation of qi. 2).The type of damp-heat. 3).The type of noxious heat. 3. The treatment effect is high in the damp-heat type. 4. Medical treatment of gallstone, considering the function of the intestines, are lithodialysis and removol of gallstone, soothing the liver and regulating the cerculation of qi, clearing away heat and elininating dampness. 5. The dissolution therapy of gallstone effected to the size within the diameter of 1.5cm 6. Through the oriental medicine therapy, besides excretion and dissolution of gallstone, the interval extention and elimination of spasm, the prevention of relapse and aftere effect are to be expected. The study which can improve the treatment rate of cholelith through the combination therapy of oriental and western is needed and deep study on oriental medicine diagnostic and classification according to the observation based on symptoms is necessary.

본 연구는 호흡마사지법으로 생체에너지(기) 순환을 고찰하고자 하였다. 수 천 년 전부터 자연과의 조화를 통해 깨달음을 얻은 선조들은 자연호흡법으로 기에너지의 생성과 승강운동조절을 통하여 무병장수 하였으며, 춥고 배고픈 시절에 복부의 소중함을 체험한 할머니는 부드러운 약손으로 생명의 바다인 복부를 통해 질병을 치유해 주셨다. 이처럼 자연호흡과 할머니의 부드러운 약손의 감성인식 및 동양의학의 핵심내용인 기일원론(氣一元論)의 바탕으로 배꼽호흡테라피가 형성되었다. 자연호흡과 약손 마사지로 기에너지의 생성과 승강운동을 통하여 복부를 다스려 자연계와 인체내 외의 동태적 평형상태를 유지시킴으로써 몸과 마음의 변화를 가져와 자연스럽게 질병을 치유하여 신체의 항상성을 유지시켜주는 자연치유법이라 할 수 있다. 배꼽호흡테라피를 적극 활용될 수 있는 실무 확산의 계기를 마련하고, 이를 통해 과학적인 임상연구 실무적용에 널리 활용될 것으로 기대한다.

Objectives : Neurosis, psychosomatic disease from which most of out-patients suffer originated marital problem in clinical setting, In Oriental medicine, concept and clinical cases of the couple therapy is insufficient. So we suggest the theoretical background and evidence of oriental medical approach. Methods : We searched the theoretical perspectives of recent couple therapy and suggested the psychotherapy with couples in oriental medicine and its clinical utilization. Results : 1. Advantages of the couple therapy in oriental medicine were easy to relationship and emotional communication. because oriental medicine were available to approach of symptom pattern about somatic symptom due to marital problem. 2. Oriental medical therapy, for example, acupuncture, moxibustion, cupping, herbal medicine, etc. connects doctors and the patients easily, unlike dialogue-centered western psychotherapy. 3. The Ii-Gyeung-Byun-Qi Therapy(移精變氣療法) resolve the marital suppressed feeling easily, Gi-Un-Go-Roen Therapy (至言高論療法) is useful in four principle-marital role, communication, sex life, theory of Hwa-Byung. 4. The principle of 'sorrow restraints anger(悲勝怒)' and 'pleasure restraints sorrow(喜勝悲)' in Oh-Ji-Sang-Seung Therapy(五志相勝療法) accords with forgiveness and recovery that is ultimate goal of the couple therapy. Conclusions : Except existing therapy for recovery of marital relation, We suggest the somatic symptom centered approach based on mind and body unification in oriental medicine. This principle would bring the benefit from the marital to familial relation. From now on, we should correct the theory, need the theorical systematization. Then we should develop the program for recovery of marital relation and examine the hypothesis.

Objectives: The basic cause of developmental disability is congenital weakness, which is a disorder of the kidney according to the Oriental medicine definition. I suggest the oriental medicine music therapy, which can improve congenital weakness and recover the kidney dysfunction. Methods: This study focused autism and Asperger syndrome in terms of Oriental medicine, and also considered view points from the Western medicine. Conclusions 1. The kidney monitors vital elements which were produced from the bone marrow. Therefore, the growth and the development of a skeletal structure are related to the strength and weakness of kidney, which is measured in Qi score. 2. In a case of the deficiency of kidney, an essence due to congenital defect, it shows the symptoms of the developmental disability such as sluggish reaction and physical movements, falling of memory, hearing, and eyesight. 3. For the kidney disorder, "Eum music therapy", one of the oriental medicine music therapies, can promote development of the kidney and kidney-Qi score for the children with developmental disability.
