  • This study was performed to investigate the cause, symptom, treatment, medicine of Wei symptom through the literature of oriental and western medicine. The results obtained were as follows: 1. Wei symptom is the symptom that reveals muscle relaxation without contraction and muscle relaxation occures in the lower limb or upper limb, in severe case, leads to death. 2. Since the pathology and etiology of Wei symptom was first described as "pe-yeol-yeop-cho"(肺熱葉焦) in Hung Ti Nei Ching(黃帝內經), for generations most doctors had have accepted it. but after Dan Ge(丹溪), it had been classified into seven causes, damp-heat(濕熱), phlegm-damp(濕痰), deficiency of qi(氣虛), deficiency of blood(血虛), deficiency of yin(陰處), stagnant blood(死血), stagnant food(食積). Chang Gyeng Ag(張景岳) added the cause of deficiency of source qi(元氣). 3. The concept of "To treat Yangming, most of all"(獨治陽明) was emphasized in the treatment of Wei symptom and contains nourishment of middle warmer energy(補益中氣), clearance of yangming-damp-heat(淸化陽明濕熱). 4. Since Nei-ching era(內經時代), Wei and Bi symptom(痺症) is differenciated according to the existence of pain. After Ming era(明代) appeared theory of co-existence of Wei symptom and pain or numbness but they were accepted as a sign of Wei symptom caused by the pathological factor phelgm(痰), damp(濕), stagnancy(瘀). 5. In the western medical point of view, Wei symptom is like paraplegia, or tetraplegia. and according to the causative disease, it is accompanied by dysesthesia, paresthsia, pain. thus it is more recommended to use hwal-hyel-hwa-ae(活血化瘀) method considering damp-heat(濕熱), qi deficiency of spleen and stornach(脾胃氣虛) as pathological basis than to simply differenciate Wei and Bi symptom according to the existence of pain. 6. The cause of Gullian-Barre syndrome(GBS) is consist of two factors, internal and external. Internal factors include asthenia of spleen and stomach, and of liver and kidney. External factors include summur-damp(暑濕), damp-heat(濕熱), cold-damp(寒濕) and on the basis of "classification and treatment according to the symptom of Zang-Fu"(臟腑辨證論治), the cause of GBS is classified into injury of body fluid by lung heat(肺熱傷津), infiltration of damp-heat(濕熱浸淫), asthenia of spleen and kidney(脾腎兩虛), asthenia of spleen and stomach(脾胃虛弱), asthenia of liver and kidney (肝腎兩虛). 7. The cause of GBS is divided by according to the disease developing stage: Early stage include dryness-heat(燥熱), damp(濕邪), phlegm(痰濁), stagnant blood(瘀血), and major treatment is reducing of excess(瀉實). Late stage include deficiency of essence(精虛), deficiency with excess(虛中挾實), and essencial deficiency of liver and kidney(肝腎精不足) is major point of treatment. 8. Following is the herbal medicine of GBS according to the stage. In case of summur-damp(暑濕), chung-seu-iki-tang(淸暑益氣湯) is used which helps cooling and drainage of summer-damp(淸利暑濕), reinforcement of qi and passage of collateral channels(補氣通絡). In case of damp-heat, used kun-bo-hwan(健步丸), In case of cool-damp(寒濕), used 'Mahwang-buja-sesin-tang with sam-chul-tang'(麻黃附子細辛湯合蓼朮湯). In case of asthenia of spleen and kidney, used 'Sam-lyeng-baik-chul san'(蔘笭白朮散), In case of asthenia of liver and kidney, used 'Hojam-hwan'(虎潛丸). 9. Following is the herbal medicine of GBS according to the "classification and treatment according to the symptom of Zang-Fu"(臟腑辨證論治). In the case of injury of body fluid by lung heat(肺熱傷津), 'Chung-jo-gu-pae-tang'(淸燥救肺湯) is used. In case of 'infiltration of damp-heat'(濕熱浸淫), us-ed 'Yi-myo-hwan'(二妙丸), In case of 'infiltration of cool-damp'(寒濕浸淫), us-ed 'Yui-lyung-tang', In case of asthenia of spleen, used 'Sam-lyung-bak-chul-san'. In case of yin-deficiency of liver and kidney(肝腎陰虛), used 'Ji-bak-ji-hwang-hwan'(知柏地黃丸), or 'Ho-jam-hwan'(虎潛丸). 10. Cervical spondylosis with myelopathy is occuered by compression or ischemia of spinal cord. 11. The cause of cervical spondylosis with myelopathy consist of 'flow disturbance of the channel points of tai-yang'(太陽經兪不利), 'stagnancy of cool-damp'(寒濕凝聚), 'congestion of phlegm-damp stagnant substances'(痰濕膠阻), 'impairment of liver and kidney'(肝腎虛損). 12. In treatment of cervical spondylosis with myelopathy, are used 'Ge-ji-ga-gal-geun-tang-gagam'(桂枝加葛根湯加減), 'So-hwal-lack-dan-hap-do-hong-eum-gagam(小活絡丹合桃紅飮加減), 'Sin-tong-chuck-ue-tang-gagam(身痛逐瘀湯加減), 'Do-dam-tang-hap-sa-mul-tang-gagam'(導痰湯合四物湯加減), 'Ik-sin-yang-hyel-guen-bo-tang'(益腎養血健步湯加減), 'Nok-gakyo-hwan-gagam'(鹿角膠丸加減). 13. • Power packet (PP) distribution system distributes power to different loads that share the same distribution cable in a packetized form. When compared with conventional power systems, a PP distribution system (PPDS) can reduce standby power, eliminate Point-of-Load (PoL) power conversion, and intelligently control the load demand from the source side. Due to the absence of PoL conversion, when multiple power sources at different voltage levels and conditioning requirements jointly send power to various loads at different voltage ratings, the generated voltage has an irregular shape. A large filter at each of the load sides is required to reduce such a large voltage ripple. In this paper, a single-inductor, multiple-input-single-output converter structure based multiple-energy-source mixer is proposed. It combines PP generation, maximum power point tracking (MPPT) of renewable energy sources (RESs) and filtering at the source side. To demonstrate the possible renewable energy integration, a PV panel is used as a power source together with other constant voltage sources. The PV power is approximately tracked using the constant voltage method and it is used for each of the PP generations. The proposed PP distribution system is experimentally verified and it is shown that a conventional PI controller is sufficient for stable system operation.

  • For the downlink energy-harvesting small cell network, this paper proposes an interference management algorithm based on distributed coalitional game. The cooperative interference management problem of the energy-harvesting small cells is modeled as a coalitional game with transfer utility. Based on the energy harvesting strategy of the small cells, the time sharing mode of the small cells in the same coalition is determined, and an optimization model is constructed to maximize the total system rate of the energy-harvesting small cells. Using the distributed algorithm for coalition formation proposed in this paper, the stable coalition structure, optimal time sharing strategy and optimal power distribution are found to maximize the total utility of the small cell system. The performance of the proposed algorithm is discussed and analyzed finally, and it is proved that this algorithm can converge to a stable coalition structure with reasonable complexity. The simulations show that the total system rate of the proposed algorithm is superior to that of the non-cooperative algorithm in the case of dense deployment of small cells, and the proposed algorithm can converge quickly.

  • The purpose of this study is to find out how energy substrate's utilizations in the maximal exercise-cardiorespiratory function and the energy metabolic variation- have the effect on before and after the supplements of coenzyme Q10(100mg per day for 8 weeks) based on the male students(CoQ10=8, placebo=8) of high school. The results of this study are as follows: Maximal oxygen uptake and maximal oxygen per weight are found to have the significant increase respectively in supplement group. Glucose is found to have the significant decrease after the supplement of CoQ10. And then FFA is found to have the significant increase. In the above results, the supplements of CoQ10 and cardiorespiratory function in the maximal exercise are found to have the improvement. CoQ10 in the anaerobic exercise spares the energy's utilization of Glucose and then is found to have the increase of the utilization of FFA. CoQ10 in the aerobic exercise is reported to have the increase of the utilization of FFA and then CoQ10 in the maximal exercise is also recognized to have the increase of the utilization of FFA, or energy substrates.

  • Twenty-five sows and 265 piglets (Landrace ${\times}$ Yorkshire) were used to evaluate the effects of dietary energy level on the pre-weaning and post-weaning performance of piglets and first parity sows. Sows with an average initial B.W. of $217.54{\pm}25.47kg$ were randomly assigned to 2 treatments. The treatments consisted of a T1 diet containing 3,100 kcal, and the T2 diet contained 3400 kcal of metabolizable energy (ME)/kg, respectively. Data were analyzed using Duncan statements to test the effect of the dietary energy levels on growth performance in lactating sows and piglets. In this study, Dietary T2 sows had a greater number of weaned piglets per litter (p < 0.05). Dietary T2 had a higher (p < 0.05) body weight than that of T1 in the weanlings, meanwhile it had a higher total average daily gain (p < 0.05) than that of T1. Dietary T1 had a higher average feed intake than that of T2 in gestation and lactation. There were no significant differences on the litter size or litter birth weight. No differences (p > 0.05) were noted in the survival of the piglets as well as in the backfat thickness and body weight loss in sows. In conclusion, these results show that high-energy diets had no effect on the body weight and backfat thickness of sows during gestation and lactation but influenced the body weight and average daily gain of weanling pigs during the lactation period.

  • For the purpose of wide application of Korea Ginseng Radix (KGR) as a tonic and medicinal drug, bibliographical study on Ginseng Radix (GR) was done about its herbal and pharmacological effects known so far. Herbal effect of GR was studied in 28 classical books including Shennongbencaojing(신농본초경), the oldest herbal book in oriental medicine and also its pharmacological effects was compared with its herbal effect. In bibliographical study 38 kinds of efficacies of GR were referred in those books, for example, in fields of gastrointestinal tract, heart, psychology, body fluid, hormone and respiratory tract in order from statistical analysis. GR was chiefly used for supplementing Qi, vital energy in oriental medicine. However, experimental study on respiratory diseases was not reported except lung cancer yet, while GR was used for the treatment of asthma mostly mixed with other herb in oriental medicine. So far research with GR was performed chiefly for isolation of constituents as saponins and evaluation of its efficacy experimentally by KGTR (Korea Ginseng Tobacco Research Institute). From the above studies, to make KGR used widely than before, I suggest study with KGR should be done according to oriental principles such as Qi and tasters and combination theory between herbs excepting typical analytical research with saponins.

  • 1. Objectives This paper was written in order to understand formative process of Taeumin's Dry-febrile Symptom. 2. Methods We analysis Taeumin's Dry-febrile Symptom through pathology and prescription in ${\ulcorner}$Dongyisusebowonchobongyun${\lrcorner}$, ${\ulcorner}$Dongyisusebowongabo-bon${\lrcorner}$, ${\ulcorner}$Dongyisusebowonsinchukbon${\lrcorner}$. And we also analysis before study on pathology of Taeumin. 3. Results and Conclusions SCM was controled by Good-Qi. There was explained the strong and weak of Good-Qi to the number of real life. Slightness and Severeness of disease are dependent on the Health Energy of small viscera. So the interior febrile disease of Taeumin is divided to Liver-febrile symptom and Dry-febrile symptom. Because Liver-febrile symptom is reasonable symptom but Dry-febrile symptom is contrary symptom.

  • Keeping in step with four seasons, Spring, summer, autumn, and winter, the heaven and earth(天地) has been born(生), grown(長), coverted(化), gained(收), and kept(藏) by interaction of yiyang and yuqi(五氣: 木火土金水). And according to Naiching, human being is born with energy of heaven and earth(天地之氣) and is grown with the law of four seasons(四時之法). So, we now know that the human's body and nature interact each other. The oriental medical science has been studied the effect that the nature's change influences on human body. Now, I get some idea that using herb medicine and acupuncture should have hanged following the change of four seasons. We know that there is a cycle in nature. Every day sun arise and down, and every month moon gets full and new. And every year, four seasons orderly change, from spring to winter. All of this is the law of nature and human body adapts this law. Man always shows the physiological phenomena which changes under the law of nature, especially the turning of the seasons. Therefore, we should use different medical methods in different seasons.

  • Tongue diagnosis is a profound and special part of the whole Oriental Medicine. We examined the method, the principle and the meaning of tongue diagnosis according to a literature cited, considered a meaning of tongue diagnosis. As a result, we come to a conclusion like that. 1. Tongue is related with internal organs by meridian system, especially has a direct connection with heart and spleen. 2. The heart, a master of internal organs, has its specific opening in the tongue. The spleen, source of nutrients for growth and development, has its specific body opening in the mouth. So tongue reflects states of internal organs, Qi, blood, the constructive energy and the defensive energy. 3. When doing tongue diagnosis, we must pay attention to the position and the order of inspection of the tongue. We must diagnose by referring to a ray of light, diet, season, age, physical constitution, habit and taste, can make a accurate diagnosis. 4. We can classify constitutions, distinguish syndromes, suppose prognosis, make a prescription by using tongue diagnosis. 5. Reddened tip of the tongue represents flaring-up of the heart fire, and it means psychologic stress. Dental identations on the tongue edges represents deficiency of Qi of the spleen, and it means physiologic fatigue. 6. Through observing humidity of fur of the tongue, we can guess psychologic stress and physiologic fatigue. Through observing thickness of fur of the tongue, we can guess function of spleen and stomach.

  • There are very necessary for three factors, that is sun(oxygen), temperature, nutritions to maintain life. when sun shines, skin temperature get up. after man eat food, core body temperature get higher. temperature is temperature. therefore, common characteristic of three factors is temperature. temperature is energy and qi(氣) in korean medicine. in addition to this one, pyretomedicine also insists that the key point of all disease development mechanism is also the overenough and poor of energy. In this aspects, writer submit this thesis about all disease development, neoplasia devolpment and metastasis as hypothesis.
