CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTORS OF A BUILDING DESIGN TEAM

  • The success of a building design team is achieved as a result of a combination of multiple events/factors and interactions, and has a great impact on the quality of the building construction process. While most of previous studies have focused on quality of the construction process, the success of a design team has not been completely investigated. This paper presents the critical factors that impact the success of a building design team and describes an assessment tool to measure the successful performance of the design team with respect to the critical factors. The development of the assessment tool employs the concept of quality function deployment (QFD), a technique to measure the service quality of an organization.

  • This paper is to propose an evaluation model of quality system using the concept from the evaluation method of each stage in QFD(Quality Function Deployment). The data of the performance level and weights for the quality system and the job on quality loop in each enterprise has been obtained from the 8 experts who are in charge of quality system construction. Here, the weights were computed by means of the eigenvector method. In this paper, we can acquire the evaluated score for the present level of the quality system. This method will help to manage and improve the quality system. We show the efficiency of this method by illustrating case studies.

품질기능전개를 이용한 자본예산투자프로젝트 선정방법 (A Selection Method for Capital Budgeting Projects with Quality Function Deployment)

  • The purpose of this paper is to describe a new analytic method of capital budgeting projects that takes into account both customer wants and competitor's status and to give decision makers a tool for goal setting and planning for technology. This model, which is based on quality function deployment(QFD), has used the analytic hierarchy process(AHP) to determine the intensity of the relationship between the variables involved in each matrix of the model and the 0-1 integer programming to determine the allocation of funds to various technological projects. This paper also proposes how to calculate the new weight of columns to consider various strength levels of roof matrix, representing the correlation among the quality characteristics, using Lyman's normalization procedure. To compare this model with Partovi's model, I adapt the same example which is suggested by Partovi and I show that the value of object function, has maximization problem, in this model is larger than that in Partovi's model.

  • For the definition of development project, this paper proposes an integrated design model for the project 3P's(Products, Process, and People) architecture solutions balancing the originating requirements as well as the design targets of product, process, and IPDT. The model is suggested to develop the integrated design method with trade-off analysis and alternatives evaluation of products, processes, and IPDT using QFD.

  • 기술 로드맵(technology roadmap)은 기업의 사업전략을 기술계획에 반영하고 기술을 제품, 시장과 연결하는 기술기획 방법론이다. 기존의 연구들은 기술 로드맵의 전략적 효과에 대한 정성적 분석이나 기본적인 이해를 돕기 위한 연구에 치우쳐 있어, 구체적인 작성과정이나 작성과정에 포함되는 의사결정을 지원하는 방법론 개발에 대한 연구는 부족했다. 이에 본 연구는 QFD(Quality Function Deployment)와 웹 기반 시스템의 설계를 통해 기술 로드맵 작성과정을 지원하는 방법론을 제안하고자 한다. 구체적으로는 우선 QFD를 활용하여 고객동인(market driver)과 제품 동인(product driver), 제품 동인과 기술 동인(technology driver)의 연결고리를 발견하고 다음으로 전략적 의사결정을 위한 대안을 평가하는 과정으로 구성된다. 마지막으로 제안한 방법론을 구현하는 웹 기반의 시스템을 소개한다. 웹 기반 시스템과 QFD의 도입으로, 의사결정을 지원하는 체계적인 틀을 제공하고 기술로드맵 작성과정을 보다 효율적으로 수행할 수 있도록 하는 효과를 기대할 수 있다.

기술 로드맵의 기초 작성을 위한 컨조인트 분석과 QFD (Conjoint Analysis and QFD for a Reliable Starting Point of Technology Roadmap)

  • The purpose of the current study is to suggest a reliable starting point for roadmapping to overcome two common shortcomings of previous literatures that they do not demonstrate a robust methodology for roadmap and they describe the roadmapping process in the abstract. The proposed methodology for roadmapping considers four important business- and market-related factors: consumer requirements, engineering characteristics, the gap between the roadmapped technology and competing technologies, and future changes in consumer preferences. We capture consumer preferences using conjoint analysis and interconnect the above four factors using QFD (Quality Function Deployment). The model is applied to power line communications (PLC). The results show that there is a significant difference between priorities assigned to the engineering characteristics by expert alone and priorities determined by the roadmapping model.

  • This paper demonstrates the application of a Quality Function Deployment (QFD) and Zero-One Goal Programming model for selecting interdependent information system project selection, there are a few research for interdependent IS project selection. Effective project evaluation necessities incorporating the many conflicting objectives of decision maker(s) into decision models. Among the many proposed methodologies of multi-criteria decision making (MCDM), Goal Programming (GP) is the most popular and widely used. The model departs from an earlier GP formulation of the problem that suggested QFD method for selection of priorities among the considered attributes or criteria. The application of the proposed methodology illustrated through an example.

중년 여성의 감성 Brassiere 개발(제1보) -소비자 요구 분석을 기초로 한 제품 디자인 요소 추출- (Development of Sensible Brassiere for Middle Aged Women -Investigation of consumer's Needs and Evaluation of Commercial Brassiere for the Development of Subjective Measurement Scale and Screening of Design Parameters-)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop functional and sensible brassiere for middle-aged women. As a methodology, engineering design process, especially, QFD(Quality Function Deployment) was adopted to translate consumer's needs into product design parameters. Wearing tests of commercial brassiere were performed for the development o subjective measurement scale. The environmental condition was controlled at 28$\pm$1$^{\circ}C$, 65$\pm$3%RH. As results, subjective measurement scale and dimension for the evaluation of sensible brassiere were extracted from factor analysis. Four factors were fitting, aesthetic property, pressure sensation, displacement of brassiere due to movement. Regression equations with the subjective evaluation descriptors were developed for the prediction of wearing comfort of brassiere. (R2=.82) The most critical design parameter was wire-related property and second one was stretchability of main material of brassiere. Also, wearing comfort of brassiere was affected by the interaction of initial stretchability of wing and support of strap.

  • 신개념기술시범(ACTD)의 개념은 민수분야에서 개발된 신기술을 국방분야의 무기체계 개발로 신속히 전환하기 위한 목적으로 최초로 미국에서 소개되었다. 그 이후에 한국에서도 다양한 ACTD사업이 도출되어 수행되고 있다. 그러나 개발요구사항의 엄격한 관리와 짧은 개발기간을 요구하는 ACTD사업 특성을 효율적으로 반영하는 사업관리 방법에 관한 연구의 필요성이 대두되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 문제점들을 연구의 대상으로 하였고, 문제의 해결방안으로 제조분야와 다양한 영역에서 성공적인 모델로 적용되고 있는 QFD(품질기능전개)기법을 활용하였다. 본 연구에서 QFD기법의 적용을 통해 ACTD사업의 다양한 이해당사자들 사이의 의사소통의 문제를 개선하고 요구사항에 대한 위험도를 경감하는 방안을 제시할 수가 있었다. 특별히, QFD기반의 ACTD 표준 템플릿을 개발하였고 템플릿을 어떻게 사용할 것인가에 대해 연구하였다. 마지막으로 ACTD사업의 사례연구로서 연구결과를 적용허여 비행정보시현체계에 대해 시현하였고, 또한 표준 템플릿의 이용, 요구사항 관리, 위험도 경감을 위한 방법들이 제안되었다.
