  • We propose to designs and to implements a robot analyzing the risk of occurrence of mental disorder of single-person households' workers through the facial expression-detecting system. Due to complex social factors, the number and proportion of single-person households continues to increase. In addition, contrast to the household of many family members, the prevalence of mental disorder among single-person household varies greatly. Since most patients with mental can not detect the disease on their own, counseling and treatment with doctors are often ignored. In this study, we design and implement a robot analyzing the risk of mental disorder of single-person households workers by constructing a system with Q.bo One, a social robot created by Thecorpora. Q.bo One is consisted of Arduino, ar raspberry pie, and other sensors designed to detect and respond to sensors in the direction users want to implement. Based on the DSM-5 provided by the American Psychiatric Association, the risk of mental disorder occurrence was specified based on mental disorder. Q.bo One analyzed the facial expressions of the subjects for a week or two to evaluate depressive disorder, anxiety disorder. If the mental disorder occurrence risk is high, Q.bo One is designd to inform the subject to counsel and have medical treatment with a specialist.

  • The WiMedia Alliance has specified a Distributed Medium Access Control (D-MAC) protocol based on UWB for high speed wireless home networks and WPANs. In this paper, firstly, the fair SoQ-based Distributed Reservation Protocol (DRP) for D-MAC is analyzed. And a novel SoQ-based relay transmission protocol is proposed to overcome DRP conflicts fast. In the proposed protocol, each device executes the Satisfaction of QoS (SoQ) time slot allocation algorithm independently. And, in order to give the loser device due to DRP conflicts another chance to maintain QoS resources, the proposed relay transmission protocol helps the device reserve another indirect link maintaining the required QoS resources via a relay node.

  • A new type of second-order digital peaking filters for professional-quality digital audio system is proposed whose frequency response can be elaborately controlled throughout the composite structure of a standard band-pass filter and a 0-dB bypass gain. The proposed method for designing the peaking filter uses the Q-compensation technique to prevent the Q-distortion caused by the variation of the gain factor and is reduced into a compact form which is proper to the real-time implementation. Methods are examined for computing its coefficients, which are exact and very straightforward to compute with small amount of the system resources.

  • In Gen-2 Q-algorithm, if the number of tags is small and we let the initial $Q_{fp}$ be large, the number of empty slot will be large. On the other hand, if we let the initial $Q_{fp}$ be small in spite of many tags, almost all the slots will be collided. Also, if the reader selects an inappropriate weight, there are a lot of empty or collided slots. As a result, the performance will be declined because the frame size does not converge to the optimal point quickly during the query round. In this paper, we propose a scheme to select the weight based on the slot-count size of current query round through the tag number estimation and.

  • A wireless power transfer system with a negative impedance converter(NIC) was designed and tested. The system was investigated to identify the effects of ferrites and conductors. To improve the power transfer efficiency(PTE), the Q-factor of the transmitter was enhanced by the negative resistance generated by the NIC. The NIC was composed of an Op-Amp and resistors. The negative resistance was obtained with respect to a resistor connected in a feedback loop. The dimension of the Tx coil was $250mm{\times}250mm{\times}0.8mm$. The impedance and Q-factor were $31+j1874{\Omega}$ and 60, respectively. The negative resistance was selected to be $30{\Omega}$, and the Q-factor was increased to 900 by reduction of the transmitter resistance, which was about 15 times higher than that of a conventional transmitter. The measured PTE was greatly improved in comparison to that of a conventional system. These results demonstrate that the PTE is enhanced by using the NIC.

  • One of the key issues in implementing RFID systems is to design anti-collision protocols for identifying all the tags in the interrogation zone of a RFID reader with the minimum identification delay. In this paper, Furthermore, in designing such protocols, the limited resources in tags and readers in terms of memory and computing capability should be fully taken into consideration. we first investigate two typical RFID anti-collision algorithms, namely RFID Gen2 Q algorithm (accepted as the worldwide standard in industrial domain) and FAFQ algorithm including their drawbacks and propose a new RFID anti-collision algorithm, which can improve the performance of RFID systems in terms of tag identification time considerably. Further, we compared performance of the proposed algorithm with Q algorithm and FAFQ algorithm through computer simulation.

  • This paper presents the polygon-based Q-leaning and Parallel SVM algorithm for object search with multiple robots. We organized an experimental environment with one hundred mobile robots, two hundred obstacles, and ten objects. Then we sent the robots to a hallway, where some obstacles were lying about, to search for a hidden object. In experiment, we used four different control methods: a random search, a fusion model with Distance-based action making (DBAM) and Area-based action making (ABAM) process to determine the next action of the robots, and hexagon-based Q-learning, and dodecagon-based Q-learning and parallel SVM algorithm to enhance the fusion model with Distance-based action making (DBAM) and Area-based action making (ABAM) process. In this paper, the result show that dodecagon-based Q-learning and parallel SVM algorithm is better than the other algorithm to tracking for object.

  • LNG carriers have, up to 2006, mainly been driven by steam turbines. The Boil-Off Gas from the LNG cargo tanks has so far been used as fuel. This is a costly solution that requires special skills during construction and operation. Alternative propulsion systems offer far better fuel economical efficiency than steam turbines. Instead of previous practice using Boil-Off Gas as a fuel, the Re-liquefaction system establishes a solution to liquefy the Boil-Off Gas and return the LNG to the cargo tanks. This Re-liquefaction of Boil-Off Gases on LNG carriers results in increased cargo deliveries and allows owners and operators to choose the most optimum propulsion system. In this study, thermodynamic cycle analysis has been performed on two type of LNG Re-liquefaction system which was designed and adopted for the Q-Flex(216,000$m^3$) and Q-Max(266,000$m^3$) LNG carrier under construction at Korea ship yards and variable key factor was simulated to compare efficiency, power and nitrogen consumption of each Re-liquefaction system.

  • The WiMedia Alliance has specified a Distributed Medium Access Control (D-MAC)/WUSB protocol based on UWB for high speed wireless home networks and WPANs. In this paper, we propose a novel SoQ-based cooperative communication protocol adaptive to current UWB link transmission rate and QoS measure. The proposed SoQ-based cooperative communication protocol has compatibility with current WiMedia D-MAC/Wireless USB standard and is executed at each device according to a SoQ-based Relay Node Selection (RNS) criterion.

  • In general, crowded places, such as banks, government offices and hospitals, require the customer to wait for a certain period of time. Thus according to the order of the wait, customers takes waiting numbers. In this way, so customers should always check the order of waiting processes that they can not carry on another affairs. In this paper, we develop an application, that is SmartQ, managing queue using a mobile handset. SmartQ is an easy-to-use application allowing customers an alternative to the classic queue management systems. With this application, they are aware of the waiting conditions in real time for each of their services. They can indicate the time they wish to come and take a virtual ticket in the queue. It provides service notification, the number of waiting person, and expected waiting time.
