Some investigators who have tried to achieve the highly smooth surface finish using electrochemical processes have reported that high current density produced lustrous surfaces while the opposite conditions produced a passive layer and had a tendency to produce a black surface. However, processing at a low current density may produce a non-lustrous surface but the improvement of dimensional accuracy of the surface is significant. The surface with pulse process was a bit more lustrous than with continuous current but the black passive layer still could be found at grooved surface. There are two ways to achieve highly smooth surface finish. One is brushing it with a brush the other is electrochemical machining (ECM) with high current. The former method is the most common polishing practice, but not only may the surface obtained differ from operator to operator, but precision smooth surface on micro grooves are difficult to obtain. The latter one recently has been used to produce a highly smooth surface after EDM process. However, the material removal rate in ECM with high current is relatively high. Hence the original shape of the micro grooves, which was formed by electrochemical micro-machining (EMM) process, may be destroyed. In this study, an electrochemical polishing process using pulse current is adopted as a possible alternative process when micro grooves formed by EMM process should be polished. Mirror-like micro grooves with lustrous and smooth surface can be produced electrochemically with pulse current because the voltage and current used can be lower than the case of continuous current. This study will discuss the accurate control of physical and electrical conditions so as to achieve mirror-like micro grooves with lustrous and smooth surface without destroying the original shape of micro grooves.
We numerically solve the nonlinear Schrödinger equation for pulse propagation in a passively mode-locked Yb:KGW laser. The soliton-like pulse formation as a result of balanced negative group-delay dispersion (GDD) and nonlinear self-phase modulation is analyzed. The cavity design and optical parameters of a previously reported high-power Yb:KGW laser were adopted to compare the simulation results with experimental results. The pulse duration and energy obtained by varying the small-signal gain or GDD reproduce the overall tendency observed in the experiments, demonstrating the reliability and accuracy of the model simulation and the optical parameters.

In this paper, a new method for reducing harmonic in input AC line currents of converter presents, which is the multi-pulse converter circuit without the input transformer. This system can reduce the harmonic like conventional 12-pulse converter. Both the bridge circuits are controlled with the shifted firing angle and connected 2 tap inter-phase reactor. Using 2 tap changing on inter-phase reactor, the input current is controlled with the different two values in order to make the input current waveform 12 pulses.
Electroplated Ni and Ni-W micro-molds using LIGA-like process for replication of micro-components such as microfluidic parts and micro optical parts have been investigated. In general, it is hard to produce micro-parts using conventional mechanical processes. Micro-mold formed by LIGA-like process could fabricate micro-parts with high aspect ratio. In this paper, fabrication and properties of electroplated Ni molds with varying applied current types as well as those of Ni-W molds were investigated. Ni molds fabricated under pulse-reverse current showed the highest hardness value of about 160 Hv. Ni-W molds showed the hardness of about 500 Hv which was much harder than that of Ni electroplated molds. The above results suggested that high quality micro-molds could be fabricated by using Ni electroplating of pulse-reverse type for core molds and sequential Ni-W alloys coating.

The grid voltage of commercial utility power source hi Japan and USA is 100rms, but in China and European countries, it is 200rms. In recent years, In Japan 200Vrms out putted single phase three wire system begins to be used for high power applications. In 100Vrms utility AC power applications and systems, an active voltage clamped quasi-resonant Inverter circuit topology using IGBTs has been effectively used so far for the consumer microwave oven. In this paper, presented is a half bridge type voltage-clamped high-frequency Inverter type AC-DC converter using which is designed for consumer magnetron drive used as the consumer microwave oven in 200V utility AC power system. This zero voltage soft switching Inverter can use the same power rated switching semiconductor devices and three-winding high frequency transformer as those of the active voltage clamped quasi-resonant Inverter using the IGBTs that has already been used for 100V utility AC power source. The operating performances of the voltage source single ended push pull type Inverter are evaluated and discussed for consumer microwave oven. The harmonic line current components In the utility AC power side of the AC-DC power converter operating at ZVSPWM strategy reduced and improved on the basis of sine wave like pulse frequency modulation and sine wave like pulse width modulation for the utility AC voltage source.

the equipment increase switching frequency in order to achieve small size, a low noise, and light weight. however, the power switches have high power losses and switching stresses as the switching frequency is increased. In order to solve like this problem point from the present paper it proposed Intese Pulse Light of the half bridge methods which apply the start current circuit which applies the auxiliary equipment. Simulation and experimental result it leads and it brings is more qualitative there is 20% improvement and it confirmed that a possibility of measuring to the patient.

The spurious electromagnetic radiation is generated due to the RF unbalanced current on a conductive cable connecting an electronic device to another. A metamaterial-based filtering geometry with frequency selectivity is suggested to reduce the radiation with a bandgap structure, where the right-handed inductance and capacitance stem from the transmission-like configuration between the cable and the metal protrusion, and the left-handed components come from the narrow cavities. The effect of the structure on the unbalanced current pulse and its spurious radiation is presented in the FDTD-method frame work.

This paper presents a forward type high voltage pulse power supply for high voltage small current, which can be designed as a simple circuit configuration and managed easily using Power-MOSFET in the view of commercialization. According to the switching frequency, coupling factor(k) and duty ratio(D), the Principle of basic operation and the characteristics of the proposed pulse power supply are estimated. Simulation results have demonstrated the feasibility of the proposed pulse power supply. Also experimental results are presented to verify theoretical discussion with a lamp type ozonizer as a load. For studying the application at the part of environment of water, When ozonizer gas reacts with a colon bacillus, the sterilization characteristics of a colon bacillus according to the ozone concentration and response time have been investigated. This proposed pulse power supply will be able to be practically used as a pulse power supply in various environment improvement facilities like sterilization of colon bacillus, deodorization, and Nox gas elimination.
A gate-turn-off thyristor (GTO) that has a fuction of self-commutation is a device that can be turned on like a thyristor with a single pulse of gate current and turned-off by injecting a negative gate current pulse. GTOs have been in existence almost from the beginning of thyristor era, recently are these devices being developed with large power-handling capabilities and improved performance, and they are gaining popularity In conversion equipment. In this paper, the effects of internal parameters of GTO model using a circuit containing two transistors and three resistors the switching operation and the turn-off snubber characteristics is investigated using SPICE program.
This article identifies and addresses current limitations on the use of numerical models for validation and/or calibration of damage detection methodologies that are based on the analysis of the high frequency response of the structure to identify the occurrence of abrupt anomalies. Distributed-plasticity non-linear fiber-based models in combination with experimental data from a full-scale reinforced concrete column test are used to point out current modeling techniques limitations. It was found that the numerical model was capable of reproducing the global and local response of the structure at a wide range of inelastic demands, including the occurrences of rebar ruptures. However, when abrupt sudden damage occurs, like rebar fracture, a high frequency pulse is detected in the accelerations recorded in the structure that the numerical model is incapable of reproducing. Since the occurrence of such pulse is fundamental on the detection of damage, it is proposed to add this effect to the simulated response before it is used for validation purposes.
