Adiabatic analysis and performance experiment of miniature inertance pulse tube refrigerator (소형 관성관 맥동관 냉동기의 단열 해석 및 성능 실험)

  • Miniature inertance pulse tube refrigerator was designed and fabricated to provide optimal performance with 10W compressor. An adiabatic model was used to design an inertance pulse tube refrigerator. Among the various design parameters which should be optimized, pulse tube length and inertance tube length were considered. PdV work and various losses were calculated for various pulse tube and inertance tube length. Experiments were carried out for different pulse tube length and inertance tube length. It was shown that the experimental results were similar to the calculated results. The reason why the quantitative optimal point exists is explained.

  • This paper deals with pulse multiplication in zigzag connected autotransformer based 12-pulse AC-DC converters feeding vector controlled induction motor drives (VCIMD) for improving the power quality at the point of common coupling (PCC) without using a Zero-Sequence-Blocking-Transformer (ZSBT). The proposed 24-pulse AC-DC converter is based on the principle of DC ripple re-injection technique for pulse multiplication and harmonic mitigation. The design of the autotransformer is carried out for the proposed AC-DC converter and the effect of load variation on VCIMD is also studied to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed AC-DC converter. Test results from a laboratory developed prototype, along with simulated results, are presented to validate the design and model of the proposed 24-pulse AC-DC converter.

  • Several selective excitation pulses are used in MRI. Because of the nonlinearity of the Block equation, the pulse problem is nonlinear generally. Recently, Shinnar & Le Roux have proposed a direct solution of this problem. In this paper, we introduce the SLR algorithm and design pulses using SLR algorithm. This SLR pulse produces a specified slice profile. For example, we demonstrate the sinc function pulse with piece wise constant duration ${\Delta}t$. Further, we will design $\pi/2$ pulse and slice profile.

  • One of the most difficult problem of designing VLSI is a mixed-circuit design, that is to design circuit containing both analog parts and digital parts. Digital to analog converter and analog to digital converter is a typical case. Especially it can be a serious problem when mixed circuit are put into a large digital circuit like microcontroller. However nowadays this problem is settled by separating analog circuit parts outside the IC. This technique is based on converting a digital signal into a pulse sequence. Then an analog signal is obtained by averaging this pulse sequence at the external low-pass filter. An anlog to digital converter is designed using a stochastic logic instead of a traditional PWM (pulse-width modulation) signal and ins implemente dusing FPGa. Stochastic pulse sequence can be made as a simple circuits and moreover can be mathematically processed by simple circuits -AND gates. The spectral property of stochastic pulse sequence method is better than that of PWM method. So it make easy to design a external low-pass filter. This technique has important advantages, especially the reduction of the ADC cost.

  • In this paper, we propose a method to design a generalized sinusoidal frequency modulated(GSFM) pulse that is robust to reverberation environment. GSFM pulses are a generalized form of SFM(Sinusoidal frequency modulated) pulses, which have the advantage of having a thumbtack ambiguity function with excellent range and Doppler resolution. However, the periodicity disappears during the generalization process, therefore, the detection performance is reduced in reverberation environment compared to SFM pulse with comb spectrum. In this paper, the trade-off relationship between the reverberation suppression performance of the SFM pulse and the range resolution performance of the GSFM pulse is analyzed by appropriately changing the parameter ${\rho}$ of the GSFM pulse. In order to verify the performance of the proposed GSFM pulse, the simulation was performed and it was confirmed that the proposed GSFM pulse has excellent distance resolution while detecting the slow Doppler target.

  • Purpose: This aim of this study was to develop a pick-up type pulse crop harvester for harvesting cut and dried pulse crop. Methods: The pick-up type pulse crop harvester was designed and constructed. Its specifications and operating performance were investigated. Results: Compared with conventional bean harvesters, the pick-up type pulse crop harvester adopted seven rows of chains with tines to pick-up the cut and dried pulse crop on a flat or ridged field, two transverse threshing drums with steel wire teeth to reduce the threshing speed, and a tilt plate and plastic bucket elevator for conveying clean grain to reduce damage. The threshing speed and the oscillating frequency of the separating and cleaning parts according to crop type and condition could be varied easily to efficiently use engine power and to improve harvesting performance. The harvester showed forward speed ranges of 0 ~ 1.5 m/s during harvesting operation, and 0 ~ 2.5 m/s during road travelling. The pick-up width of the harvester was about 1 m. Conclusions: The pick-up type self-propelled 51.5 kW harvester was designed and constructed to harvest cut and dried pulse crop. The effective field capacity of the harvester was predicted as above 40 a/h.

  • In this study, it is the purpose to study about design and manufacture of a pulse transformer for using in pulse generator and a pulse laser system. In this experiment, a ferite core in transformer instead of air core is used. The performance of the transformer is demonstrated by a voltage pulse waveform according to inductance of primary and secondary in transformer. As a result, the voltage pulse width is increased as increasement of inductance in transformer. And the voltage rate between primary and secondary is almost same with rate of inductance between primary and secondary.

  • A conventional linear accelerator system requires a flat-topped pulse with less than $\pm$ 0.5% ripple to meet the beam energy spread requirements and to improve pulse efficiency of RF systems. A a line-type pulsed modulator is widely used in pulsed power circuits for applications such as accelerators, radar, medical radiation, or ionization systems. The high-voltage pulse generator system with an output voltage of 284 kV, a pulse width of $10{\mu}s$, and a rise time of $0.84{\mu}s$ has been designed and fabricated to drive a klystron which has 30-MW peak and 60-kW average RF output power. The high-voltage test was performed using the klystron load. This thesis describes the design and test results of high-power pulse generator system for industrial accelerator application. The experimental results were analyzed and compared with the design.

  • This paper describes the design and implementation of a trigger circuit which can be series connected with main pulse circuit for a xenon flash lamp driver. For generating high voltage, the trigger circuit is designed as an inductive energy storage pulsed power modulator with 2 state step-up circuit consisting of a boost converter and a flyback circuit. In order to guarantee pulse width, a resonant capacitor on the output side of the flyback circuit is designed. This capacitor limits the output voltage to protect the flyback switch. In addition, to protect another power supply of xenon flash lamp driver from trigger pulse, the high voltage transformer which can carry the full current of main pulse is designed. To verify the proposed design, the trigger circuit is developed with the specification of maximum 23 kV, 0.6 J/pulse output and tested with a xenon flash lamp driver consisting of a main pulse circuit and a simmer circuit.
