실리콘 에피-웨이퍼 기반의 펄스감마선 검출센서 최적화 연구 (A Parametric Study of Pulsed Gamma-ray Detectors Based on Si Epi-Wafer)

  • 본 연구에서는 전자장비 내방사화 기술의 새로운 효율적 접근방법인 전원제어형 방호장치에서 핵심 기능을 수행하는 고속 반도체 센서를 개발하고 그 특성을 분석하였다. 먼저, 펄스방사선에 의한 다이오드 내부에서의 생성 전하를 계산한 후 TCAD로 모델링하여 $42{\mu}m$ 진성층의 실리콘 에피텍시 웨이퍼 기반의 고속 신호탐지용 PIN 다이오드 센서를 다양한 구조로 설계하였다. PAL의 Test LINAC의 전자빔 변환 감마방사선 4.88E8 rad(Si)/sec에 대한 실측시험에서 소자의 면적에 비례하는 광감도와 응답속도 증가 결과를 얻었으며 포화특성과 소자의 균일성을 기준으로 2mm직경의 센서를 최적으로 판단되었다. 선정 센서를 대상으로 한 펄스감마선 고출력 범위(2.47E8 rad(Si)/sec~6.21E8 rad(Si)/sec)로 선량률 가변시험에서는 개발한 소자가 시험장치의 고 선량률 영역에서 전원제어 신호처리에 충분한 60mA 이상의 광전류 피크값과 함께 350 ns 이하의 고속 응답특성을 가지는 선형적 센서임을 확인하였다.

  • PD pulses have about one nanosecond rise time in the $SF_6$ gas insulation. These pulses propagate in the apparatus to PD sensors in the form of the voltage oscillation, high frequency current and the electromagnetic radiation. In this paper, we investigated the characteristics of two types of PD sensors, by putting high frequency signals in the form of sine waves and pulse into the test apparatus in air. Also, we measured PD quantity from the needle electrode and the sensitivity of the sensors. We found that PD of 70pC could be detected with this method and the study in $SF_6$ gas should be carried out for application to $SF_6$ GIS.

  • In order to improve the accuracy of charged-particle radiation therapy, the beam energy was measured precisely using a TOF-system, and the range using a counter telescope system. A Si detector and a Ge detector were used to estimate the range straggling as a $\Delta$E and an E detector, respectively, because they have good energy resolution and the output pulse heights don't depend on the atomic number of detected particles. The results were compared with the theoretical values by a calculation code.

베타 및 감마선 계측용 서어베이 미터 (Beta Gamma Survey Meter)

  • G-M 계수관을 이용한 beta와 gamma 선에 민감한 survey meter에 관한 연구이다. 이 장치는 완전 transistor화 되어 있으며 건전지로 동작하게 되어 있고 2.5, 25 및 250MR/HR의 3가지의 full-scale meter range를 직독하게 되어 있다. Counting-rate meter 회로를 이루고 있는 collector 결합 단안정 multivibrator와 전원회로의 de-dc 변환로를 이루고 있는 무안정 blocking 발진기의 해석을 하였고 설계식을 유도하였다. G-M 계수관의 분해시간을 높이기 위하여 0.5v 정도의 낮은 전압으로 triggering할 수 있게 설계하였다.

니켈 전주도금을 위한 PET의 엑시머 레이저 어블레이션 (The excimer laser ablation of PET for nickel electroforming)

  • In this study, manufacturing of polymer master and mold insert for micro injection molding was investigated. Ablation by excimer laser radiation could be used successfully to make 3-D microstructure of PET. The mechanism for ablative decomposition of PET with KrF excimer laser(λ: 248nm, pulse duration: 5ns) was explained by photochemical process. And this process showed PET to be adopted in polymer master for nickel mold insert. Nickel electroforming by using laser ablated PET master was preferable for replication method. Finally, it was shown that excimer laser ablation can substitute for X-ray lithography of LIGA process in microstructuring.

  • In this paper, ultrasonic tomography by the Mode-Converted Rayleigh wave (MCRW) in the back-scattered direction is presented. When a beam with a short pulse and narrow beam width enters a reflector with smooth surface, in general, two major arrivals can be observed in the output waveform: the specular reflection and the radiation of the MCRW from the reflector surface. The time-delay between the two waves is relatively large and thus can be measured easily. This large time-delay is due to the fact that the MCRW is slower than incident wave. In our method, this large time- delay is used for ultrasonic image reconstruction. To effectively detect the MCRW, the arrayed-receiving transducers are circularly arranged around the transmitter. In addition, a deconvolution method is employed to remove specular echo signals for reconstructing the MCRW image.

조직 등가 섬광체를 이용한 계수형 선량계의 개발과 특성 평가 (Development and Characterization of a Dosimeter Using Tissue-Equivalent Scintillator by Photon-Counting Method)

  • A dosimeter using tissue-equivalent scintillator by photon-counting method was developed and evaluated in its performance. The dosimeter is portable and can be operated by low power from lap-top computer. A data-acquisition software of the dosimeter system was developed by Labwindows/CVI based on Windows. The energy to channel ratio for energy calibration was 0.839 keV/ch. obtained from pulse height spectrum of $^{137}Cs$ and $^{60}Co$ gamma-ray. Using the dosimeter system, the absorbed dose of environmental radiation in Gyungju was 0.18 ${\mu}Sv/h$.

  • We report on optically excited terahertz (THz) omission from low-temperature (LT) grown GaAs. We have used 70 fs titanium-sapphire laser pulses with wavelengths at 800 nm to generate THz radiation pulses. The LT-GaAs layers are grown on semi-insulating GaAs substrates with GaAs buffer layer by molecular beam epitaxy (MBE). The THz emission from the LT-GaAs surface is strong and does not show any significant variation in the strength of the THz emission over several different angles between the polarization of the excitation laser pulse and the crystallographic orientation of the LT-GaAs.

  • PD pulses have about one nanosecond rise time in the $SF_6$ gas insulation. These pulses propagate through GIS chamber to PD sensors in the form of the electromagnetic radiation. In this paper, we investigated the characteristics of disc sensors and monopole antenna, by putting high frequency signals into the test cell in $SF_6$ gas by means of a Ins rise time pulse generator and 60Hz power supply respectively. Also, we measured PD quantity from the needle electrode and the location effect of output terminal beneath the disk sensors.

Characteristics of THz Pulse Propagation on Teflon Covered Two-Wire Lines

  • We report efficient direct coupling of THz dipole antenna pulses onto air spaced two-wire transmission lines and Teflon covered two-wire lines. The air spaced two-wire lines show TEM mode propagation with very small group velocity dispersion (GVD) and relatively low attenuation. The Teflon covered two-wire lines showed comparatively much higher attenuation and GVD. However, the Teflon covered two-wire lines show a very good guiding property when the lines are curved. Although the lines are circled only 5.0 cm in diameter, there is no additional attenuation compared to straight the lines.
