In this paper a new method to correct the differential non-linearity(D NL) error for a successive approximation is proposed. The DNL of ADC is very important characteristic in the field of radiation pulse height analysis or measurement of probability density function. The results of computer simulations are shown to demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed correction method.

In this paper, we design and implement the monolithic zero crossing detection power factor correction IC using a high voltage 30V BCD process. The ZCD PFC IC is designed for power applications, such as notebook, LCD monitor, etc. It includes power factor correction function and several protection circuit, regulator, high-voltage high current output drivers. And also, the designed IC has restart timer function which the output pulse is generated if the output signal of IC is not in a 200us. The simulation results show that the designed IC acts properly as power factor correction IC with efficient protective functions.
In case that electronic ballast employing a valley-fill passive power factor correction (PFC) circuit is used for feeding fluorescent lamps, a new method to reduce crest factor of the lamp current is studied in this paper. In order to reduce crest factor to lower value, a pulse frequency modulation technique based on the waveform of the dc-link voltage which is predetermined by the passive PFC circuit, is taken into the switching control action of the electronic ballast. An equation-based analysis between the crest factor of lamp current and the effect of varying the inverter switching frequency is comprehensively performed.

To improve the current waveform of diode rectifiers, we propose a new operating principle of the voltage diode rectifiers. In the conventional voltage rectifier circuit, relatively large capacitors are used to boost the output voltage, while the proposed circuit uses ones and a small reactor not boost the output voltage but improve the input current waveform. A circuit design method is shown and confirmed simulation. It explained that compared conventional PWM(Pulse-width modulated)inverter with HPWM(Half Pulse-width modulated)inverter. Proposed HPWM inverter eliminated dead-time by lowering switching loss and holding over-shooting. Output voltage and current of this paper were applied for real air-conditioner.
A method is presented here in order to determine a nonlinearity correction of observed counter rates in a GM counter. An expression, which is developed under the assumption of dead time dependence on counting rates, gives good agreement with the results obtained from the experimental work. The variation of pulse voltages from a GM counter with counting rates was measured with the aid of pulse height analyzer. This method gives accurate values for the dead time over a wide range of counting. The technique as outlined allows tile exact correction of the nonlinearity caused by dead time loss. It was observed that the dead time decreases as the counting rate increases.

In ideal configuration, elapsed-time method can measure the exact reaction wheel speed. But in real configuration, the speed measurement error exists due to tacho pulse non-uniformity. In this research, we study the method which overcome the non-uniformity effects. First, we introduce the method which spin the wheel at the specific speed and measure the non-uniformity. Then, we propose the real-time measurement error correction method which uses the obtained non-uniformity information. This method calculate the speed candidates from the elapsed-time method's counts and non-uniformity information, and choose the closest speed to the real speed. Through simulation, we show that proposed method measure the exact speed regardless of non-uniformity, and fast wheel speed control is possible.

In order to estimate demersal fishes using acoustic echo sounders and echo integrators, we consider several problems that are accurate bottom detection, optimum bottom offset and dead zone. The dead zone where no fish detection are summed distance resolution by the half pulse length of transmitted pulse and beam angle above the seabed. This paper has considered the dead-zone correction method to be technically correct for survey of demersal fishes. A comparison between near-bottom SV profiles acquired in Funka Bay, Hokkaido, of Japan, the East China Sea and the Yellow Sea, of Korea, with before and after the bottom correction, shows that the SV obtained with after the bottom correction is 2∼3dB higher than before the bottom correction in Funka Bay, and 17dB higher in East China Sea, too.
Digital systems are increasingly being used in the ranges of many control engineering. The residue number system offers the possibility of high speed operation and error correction. The compact self-checking pulse-train residue arithmetic circuit is proposed. A fault tolerant digital filter is practically implemented using these proposed circuits.
As the pulse heights from a NaI(Tl) detector vary with the temperature of the measuring environment a significant change in temperature may affect the energy calibration of the spectrometer. The auto-adjustment of the channel corresponding to a pulse heights can be achieved by introducing an external reference source to compensate the temperature dependency of pulse heights, but unfavorable increases of the Compton continuum are caused due to the external source. In this study, the total absorption peaks dominant in the typical environmental gamma spectrum-239 keV from $^{212}Pb$, 351 keV from $^{214}Pb$, 1460 keV from $^{40}K$ and 2614 keV from $^{208}Tl$ for examples - were used as reference in the correction of energy calibration. With these peaks, the program to calibrate the energy of the s spectrum was developed using Microsoft Visual Basic language. The program developed here was applied to the environmental spectra measured at intervals of 30 minutes in the temperature range of from $-20^{\circ}C$ to $10^{\circ}C$ to demonstrate the validity and applicability. As a result of the test, the correction scheme appeared to be effective in the temperature changes encountered in the usual environment.
Pulse diagnosis is the one of the most important diagnostic process to traditional medical doctors. Although the pulse diagnosis position, Gwan is apart from Chon or Cheok by 10$\sim$20mm at most, traditional medical doctors applies different indent pressures and even they states different pulse images are felt at Chon, Gwan and Cheok. One the other hand, the education on pulse diagnosis behavior includes tantalizing problem caused by no tool for communication between trainer and trainee. On account of this situation, we tried to develop a system which can measure the hold-down pressure during a pulse diagnosis and compare the hold-down pressure profile of trainer and that of trainee. This system can be divided into three parts - pulse pressure sensing part, signal acquisition part and data storing part. A correction curve was generated by the relation between output voltages and standard weights. Using this system, 3 channel hold-down pressure profile of a oriental medical doctor were recorded three times. In the profile, three period were observed and all period included two process for searching the depth of pulsation and for classifying the pulse feeling into one or more of 28 pulse types. The maximum value of pulse profile was 1.3$kg{\cdot}f$ which was more than reported by previous chinese groups and the mean values of three channel ranged from 240$g{\cdot}f$ to 430$g{\cdot}f$. In frequency domain, each channel has some dominant frequency components - about 10Hz, 35Hz and 75Hz. In further study, we want to collect more profiles from lage number of oriental medicine doctors and hope to develop a measuring system which can measure the hold-down pressure on subject's skin directly.
