A Study on the Development of Test Rig for High Speed Frontal Crash and Test of Members

  • In this paper, a simple test rig of high-speed crash for the front members of vehicles was developed for the improvement of crashworthiness of vehicle's side rail. The cart hanging the specimen is accelerated up to 35 mph by the traction wire and by the force of freely dropping weight and 1:3 accelerating pulleys. The cart with shock absorbers travels on the rail roads, so it does not transfer any additional vibration to the specimen. In order to measure the energy absorbed by the specimen when it collapse to the wall and during it deform, the two strain gage type load cells are used at the wall place. The test rig rated good to test the specimen like a side rail of vehicle as developing the vehicle's structures in the early design stage.

소형 전기차량용 구배반응 무단변속기 개발 (The Development of Gradient Response CVT for a Small Size Electric Vehicle)

  • In this study new CVT(Continuously Variable Transmission) system which is adaptable to a small size electric vehicle is proposed available to gradient response CVT. New pulleys consist of springs adapted driving pulley and driven pulley. At the moment a small electric vehicle drive a slope, new system respond to a gradient as overcoming tensional force of springs. We made prototype of gradient response CVT to test parts performance and travelling performance test. As a result of test, belt pitch diameter varied for high torque direction at the gradient. In the flat travelling, acceleration travelling and gradient travelling performance test, the small electric vehicle with gradient response CVT get improved perfomance than the small electric vehicle with reduction gear.

  • In this paper, a mathematical model for a belt driven system is proposed to analyse the vibtation characteristics of the driving units with belts and the free and forced vibration analyses are carried out. The mathematical model for model for the belt-driven system includes belts,pulleys, spindle and bearings. Using the Hamilton principle, the 4 nonlinear governing equations and the 12 nonlinear boundary conditions are derived. To linearize and discretize the nonlinear govering equations and boundary conditions, the perturbation method and Galerkin method are used. Also, the free vibration analyses for the various parameters of the belt driven system, which are belt tension, belt length, material property of belt, belt speed and pulley mass are made. The forced vibration analyses of the system are made and the dynamic responses for the main parmeters are analysed with the belt driven system.

  • The nonlinear vibration of moving viscoelastic belts excited by the eccentricity of pulleys is investigated through experimental and analytical methods. Laboratory measurements demonstrate the nonlinearities in the responses of the belt, particularly in the resonance region and with the variation of tension. The measurements of the belt motion were made using a noncontact laser sensor Jump and hysteresis phenomenon are observed experimentally and are studied with a model which considers the nonlinear relation of belt stretch. An ordinary differential equation is derived as a working form of the belt equation of motion. Numerical results show good agreements with the experimental observations, which demonstrates the nonlinearity of viscoelastic moving belts

  • Stick-slip of belt-pulley system produces vibration which results in the noise problem. Experimental study was carried out to investigate the phenomenon of stick-slip with simple v-belt system. The optical displacement sensor detected the vibration caused by the stick-slip of which the frequency was significantly dependant on tension of the belt. The rotation speed of putties also affected the frequency and magnitude of the stick-slip vibration. Existence of misalignment between the driven and drive pulleys made some difference in the stick-slip frequency, but not much. Further study is necessary to identify the generation of noise from the stick-slip vibration.

  • In this paper, a new formula for primary and secondary thrust of metal belt CVT is proposed considering variation of band tension, block compression and active arc for each of the primary and secondary pulleys. For the secondary thrust, effective friction coefficient is introduced considering the effect of flange deflection. Nondimensional primary and secondary thrust of the metal belt CVT by the new formula agree well with the experimental results except for low torque range, $0\;<\;{\lambda}\;<\;0.2$ at speed ration i = 1.0. The new formula can be used in design of the primary and secondary thrusts control system for the metal belt CVT.

  • Organically bonded P/M mixes have been developed to improve the stability of dimensional properties by reducing the segregation of the mix constituents and improving the filling characteristics. Robustness and reliability are key factors for the promotion of P/M as cost effective substitute of competing manufacturing technologies. Based on the production of four different belt pulleys, this paper presents the achievement of reduced weight scatter and close dimensional control realizable by using a $Starmix^{TM}$ that is organically bonded.

  • MSM의 결점인 접근 지역의 제한을 극복하기 위해 차세대관리 공정장치 유지보수용 천장이동 서보 매니퓰레이터(Bridge Transported Servo Manipulator, BTSM) 시제품을 개발하였다. 시제품은 부분적으로 와이어 구동방식을 채택한 단일 팔 형태의 힘반영 마스터-슬레이브 서보 매니퓰레이터로 중량 및 규모에 비해 취급하중이 기존 마스터-슬레이브 서보 매니퓰레이터 보다 크다. 와이어 구동 메카니즘은 한 축이 움직일 때 다른 축도 영향을 받을 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 이의 현상을 극복하기 위해 와이어 길이 변화에 대한 관계식을 유도하였으며, 실험을 통해서 검증하였다.

  • This paper presents a new colonoscopy training simulator that includes a specialized haptic device and graphics algorithms to transfer haptic sensation through a long and flexible tube, and manage large number of polygons. The developed haptic device makes the colonoscope tube move along the two guiding rods in the translational direction. The torque of the roll motion is transferred by a timing belt and pulleys. A special guide is developed, which allows the force and torque from the motors to be transmitted to the user without loss. The haptic device is evaluated by physicians. One of the important skills of the colonoscopy, jiggling is incorporated for the first time by the developed sensor mechanism using photo-sensors. A colonoscope handle that shares the look, feel, and functions with the actual colonoscope, is developed with the necessary electronics inside. The number of polygons is reduced by an edge-collapse algorithm for real-time simulation. The algorithms to import CT data, to segment the colon image, to extract centerline of the colon, and to construct the colon surface, are integrated into a Colon Modeling Kit system that performs all these processes in real-time.

  • 본 논문에서는 이에 대체하는 방법으로써 전달 매트릭스 방법을 들수 있는데, 선형 진동계 해석에 있어 이 방법의 효용은 많은 논문을 통해 실증된 바이다. 특히 저어널 베어링의 댐핑효과는 크고 또한 운전회전속도에서 선형화된 스프링 및 댐핑계 수들이 수평 및 수직방향으로 연성되어 있어 전달 매트릭스 방법의 적용이 이상적이다. 회전축계의 진동 해석에 있어 낮은 공진회전수와 안정한계회전수, 즉 시스템 댐핑이 영이 되는 점을 규명하는 것이 실제에서 중요하므로 낮은 고유 진동수만을 구하면 되 는데, 이를 위하여 수치해석의 기법을 타 각도로 연구 검토할 필요가 있다.
