Purpose: The purpose of this study is to study how to activate the use of public transportation by identifying the main factors that reduce the use of public transportation due to external influences such as COVID-19 infectious diseases. Method: This study analyzed the connection between the traffic behavior and the characteristics of public transportation use in the metropolitan area changed by COVID-19 with COVID-19 indicators, and analyzed social and environmental factors affecting traffic. Results: It was analyzed that the traffic behavior in the metropolitan area moves from commercial areas to tourist resort areas, the number of COVID-19 deaths affects the use of public transportation, and the lower the deviation between population density, agricultural and forestry areas, and gender ratios due to social and environmental factors, the more significant differences are shown. Conclusion: In the future, it will be able to be activated as a basic analysis model for revitalizing the city's transportation system, regional bases, and various social and economic indicators, such as quarantine of public transportation and social distancing, and can be used as basic data for establishing public transport policy directions according to major influencing factors.

Bus, Which is together with subway the main part of public transportation modes in the city, is reviewed for the development of an optimal feeder-bus service area. Based on the IDRISI of GIS package, and taking into account of the convenience of downtown-oriented public transportation users at peak time, a model for the development of feeder-bus service area and a solution and introduced. Major result in this study is as follows: Development is given to a model that is designed to overcome the shortage of the existing models, which has limits in simulating the real situation; Variables were used in combination so that bus and subway route, station spacing, and operating frequency can be determined simultaneously, which enables to elucidate the mutual relationship and the structure in public transportation system. A model for feeder-bus area development is also given applied to determination and opening of subway and urban express bus route and new transportation systems. The model developed in this paper is useful in the case of extension and opening of subway and urban express bus route and new transportation Systems.

Unlike conventional transmission and distribution lines, catenary system for operating electric railway vehicles are composed of multi-conductor groups (feeder line, contact wire, messenger wire, protection wire) and are used for railway employees, public or passengers in the station yards. Electric shock hazards are exposed and electric shocks such as death or serious injury are occurring in electric railway vehicles, railway high-voltage distribution lines, and catenary system. In order to analyze the types of electric shock accidents on railway by systematic approach method, we modeled 'unsafe behavior classification' method using swiss cheese model. Based on this method, we derived the type of electric shock accidents about railway accidents during the last 5 years by analyzing the frequency of occurrence of human errors and unsafe acts, laws and regulations related to violations, and so on.

Nowadays, the bus system of a metropolitan area is improving very fast. According to the bus, commuter railways increase their competitive power. For this, trains get the mobility increasing, effective transferring system and unified information service. For the mobility increasing, commuting railway must be faster by flexible train diagram and facilities improvement. And finally, optimal commuter train, 'Liner' is needful. And for effective transferring system, it is necessary that railway station and transferring center of a city be merged. And it is needful that direct management bus by railway company and unification fare system on metropolitan region. Next, for information service system improving, the commuting railway station must be regional transportation hub at first. And it is needful that unified line map of trunk line transportation systems and regionally collective transportation system information book. Therefore, metropolitan commuting railways compete with trunk line bus and cooperate with feeder line bus, and can make optimal metropolitan public transportation systems.

It is the urgent task of induce the inhabitants to utilize the public transportation instead of the personal transportation to dissolve the traffic jam. But construction of the subway, the representative substitute means, demands a great of investment expense including various kinds of expenses. So the technical development and research of standardization of FRT(Fuel cell Rubber tired Train), the eco-friendly public transportation system low in construction expenses, effective, excellent in approach as well as in traffic, are propelled positively. This project wants to propose exterior design FRT in which original creative methods are utilized with the target of development and construction of FRT which coincide with anthropocentric eco-friendly traffic system. Utilizing the proposed style as the basic materials, this project wants to grasp difficulties, and to establish the way to solve and develop them.

This study analyzes the effect of the changes in traffic environments such as transportation speeds on the time-distance accessibility for the public transportation passengers. To do this, we use passenger transaction databases of the Seoul metropolitan public transportation system: one week for each of the three years (2011, 2013, and 2015). These big data contain the information about time and space on the traffic trajectories of every passenger. In this study, the time-distances of links between subway stations and bus stops of the public transportation system at each time are calculated based on the actual travel time extracted from the traffic-card transaction database. The changes in the time-distance accessibility of the integrated transportation network from the experimental results can be summarized in two aspects. First, the accessibility tends to decline as the year goes by. This is because the transportation network becomes more complicated and then the average moving speed of the vehicles is lowered. Second, the accessibility tends to increase on the weekend in the analysis of accessibility changes by day. This tendency is because the bus speeds on bus routes on the weekend are faster than other days. In order to analyze the accessibility changes, we illustrate graphs of the vehicle speeds and the numbers of passengers by year and day.

Metro is taking an important part as a public transportation of densely populated area. but according to request of increasing transportation demand and improving service for passengers, minimizing headway, functional improvement of safety facility, improving riding comfort are needed. Also, it is the time for Seoul metro's signalling system to be improved into a new one as it has been opened to traffic for over 20 years and its signalling system is becoming superannuated. this paper reviewed the considerations at improving a signalling system and its solution.

One of the major objectives of a transportation study is to provide the transportation networks for future years in order to accommodate the projected transport demand for the movement of passengers and goods utilizing the optimum "mix" of modes. To achieve this goal, the planning process starts with collection and analysis of data to determine the existing traffic demand and travel pattern, and to assign the future trip interchanges on th existing and planned networks to determine areas of improvements so that it can cope with increasing future traval demand. The purpose of this paper attempts to explain the public transport network formulation techniques which can be easily applied to the large urban area multi modal public transport system.
