Effect of Providing Information on Anxiety, Knowledge and Compliance of Patients with a Permanent Pacemaker (정보제공이 영구형 심박조율기 이식환자의 불안, 지식 및 치료지시이행에 미치는 효과)

  • Purpose: This study was undertaken to identify the effect of providing information on anxiety, knowledge and compliance in permanent pacemaker patients. Method: A quasi experimental design with non-equivalent control group and non-synchronized design was used. The subjects of this study were 50 patients who had received permanent pacemaker implantation at a university hospital in Seoul. They were divided into an experimental group of 22 patients who received education and a control group of 28 patients. The education was composed of group education(twice) and individualized reinforcement education(once) using an education booklet. Results: Anxiety decreased in the experimental group. Knowledge significantly increased in the experimental group compared to that in the control group. Compliance significantly increased in the experimental group. Conclusion: It can be concluded that providing information is effective for reducing anxiety, increasing knowledge and improving compliance of the permanent pacemaker patients.

  • This paper first reviews current practices of traveler information providing and provides some perspectives regarding the possible near term milestones in traveler information providing. Then, reviews of four types of prediction models: 1) dynamic traffic assignment (DTA) model; 2) statistical model; 3) simulation model; and 4) heuristic model are described in the sense that various prediction models are needed to support providing predictive traveler information in the near future. Next, the functional requirements and capabilities of the four types of prediction models are discussed and summarized along with some advantages and disadvantages of these models with reference to short-term travel time prediction. Furthermore, a comprehensive prediction procedure, which combines the four types of prediction models, is presented, together with the data requirements for each type of prediction model.

  • Background: Today, numerous telematics technologies, i.e., technologies developed by integrating telecommunications with information processing, are applied in vehicles. One such developmental application of this technology to vehicles is to increase the safety or convenience of drivers by providing them with necessary information such as warnings and information on emergencies and traffic situations. However, under certain conditions, there is a high probability of traffic accidents if the driving workload is high. Nowadays, the navigation system is frequently used in the vehicles, this system provides various information including route to the driver. But, the existing navigation systems are not only considered a driver's reaction but also provide unilaterally to the information regardless of them. Such one-side information service type may miss important information to the driver. In addition, it sometimes interferes safety driving. Objective: To solve this problem, the intelligent navigation system needs to the providing way that it checks the driver's reactions after providing information. Namely, if the driver passes the information received from the navigation, then the intelligent system provides more loudly and more frequently. Method: Therefore, in this study we introduce the intelligent navigation system that it automatically controls modality type and its strength when the driver misses or overlooks the information for their safety and entertainment and we analyze the driver's cognitive responses about the modality type and its strength. Results: To evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed system, we analyzed the reaction time and driving workload for each type of the information, modality and its strength. Also we evaluated the users' subjective satisfaction and understanding based on a questionnaire.

  • The influence of SNS platform in the mobile environment has grown greatly. Among the various social networking services(SNS), this study analyzed the question of 311 women to investigate whether any difference exists between reliability of contents information, informativeness and playfulness as well as how attributes of contents information influence user attitude depending on the difference in type of providing information provided by "Innisfree" Cosmetics, the company account of Instagram. According to analysis, first, no difference exists between reliability of contents information, informativeness and playfulness depending on the type of providing information. Second, reliability and the playfulness of contents information influence purchase intention. Third, contents information "informativeness" and "playfulness" influence loyalty. Fourth, the "informativeness" and "playfulness" of contents information influence User Satisfaction. Considering such result, it is confirmed that the type of providing information provided by company does not influence account attributes and the "playfulness" of contents information is significant factor which influences all user attitude.

  • In this study, we proposed the social map system prototype for intelligent crime prevention. For developing the social map system prototype, functional requirements were derived through the analysis of related cases and preceding studies. Derived requirements are providing a variety of map-based safety information, using crowdsourcing data such as SNS, connecting to intelligent CCTV. To satisfy these requirements, the prototype is developed with four main menus: the integrated search menu including social media data, the safety map menu providing a variety of safety and danger information, the community map menu to collect safety and danger information from users, and the CCTV menu providing the link to intelligent CCTV. The social map for intelligent crime prevention in this study is expected to greatly enhance the safety of local community with the provision of prompt response to risk information, safe route, etc. through actual service and user participation.

  • This paper introduces an approach for providing Location Based Services (LBS) using Spatial Location (SLO) information within the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP). The aim of the paper is to set up the framework for providing LBS services in devices connected to wire and wireless IP networks. This method uses SIP as transport and the SLO as data formal inserted in the SIP pay-load. It analyses the relationship among the network elements involved in the architecture, and its functionality fur providing access to network services regardless of the user location. In conclusion, this proposal enables SIP to support location-related services such as messaging, location-based commerce, and any location-based computing. Furthermore, it describes the advantage of adding the user location information network resources optimization in mobile environments and future networks.

  • In this paper, we propose a new personalized information service method using multiple regression analysis for Internet shopping malls. We then apply the proposed method to Internet bookstore, and compare personalized Internet bookstore providing personalized book information with ordinary Internet bookstore providing random book information. Experiment results show that the personalization of Internet bookstore increases satisfaction and purchasing intent of customers.

  • The objective of this paper is to propose the bus information system that provides bus passenger number. Recently, we use a bus conveniently through introduction of bus information system offering location-based information. However, we need additional information for decision making in order to use a bus comfortably. To do this, first, we analyzed the needs of providing passenger number; second, we adopted GPS and RFID type's transportation card to get location and passenger number. Finally, we implemented the system displaying that information by three types, and tested it. Our proposed system has advantages to use a bus comfortably and to manage a bus efficiently by providing bus passenger number which is the important element for decision making as well as location based information provided by existing bus information systems.
