  • Among the various methods of realizing low sensitivity digital filters. LBR two-pair cascading is one which enables us to realize low sensitivity filter without referring to any analog prototype filters. In this paper we analyze the LBR cascade structures through the fundamental approach to them based on the WDF theory, and interpret their features described solely in the digital domain in relation to the corresponding analog circuit Besides, we derive in a unified manner various LBR constraints needed for the LBR cascade realization, point out the insufficiency lurking in the existing description of the Type 3 LBR constraints, complement it, and make the LBR two-pair cascading procedure complete.

  • Almost all buildings/infrastructures made of composite materials are fabricated without proper design. Unlike airplane or automobile parts, prototype test is impossible. One cannot destroy 10 story buildings or 100-meter long bridges. People try to build 100-story buildings or several thousand meter long bridges. In order to realize "composites in construction", the following subjects must be studied in detail, for his design. Concept optimization, Simple method of analysis, Folded plate theory, Size effects in failure, and Critical frequency. Unlike the design procedure with conventional materials, his design should include material design, selection of manufacturing methods, and quality control methods, in addition to the fabrication method. In this paper size/scale effects in failure criteria is briefly explained for practicing engineers.engineers.

  • This paper proposes that the argument structures be stated in a way that uses probabilities derived from a corpus to replace a Boolean-value system of subcategorization. To do this, we make a cognitive model from a situation to an utterance to explain the phenomena of arguments'ellipsis, though the traditional term ellipsis is not suitable under our new concepts. We claim that the binary distinction is neither rational nor suitable for a real syntactic analysis. To solve this problem, we propose two new concepts argumentness and probabilistic Case structures by adapting the prototype theory. We believe that these concepts are effective in the syntactic analysis of NLP.

  • In the recently, the necessity of linear position control motors have been increased in the various fields of the automatic control system. In this paper, we have designed the tooth models of the hybrid type linear stepping motor(HLSM); rectangular type(RT), triangle type(TrT), round type(RdT) and wedge type(WT), and proposed the optimum tooth shape of the HLSM by simulating(Flux2D) the thrust and normal force characteristics with the finite element method(FEM) and the virtual work method. And we have manufactured the prototype HLSM with the optimum tooth, and measured the various values by using experimental system. Thus, we have confirmed the justice of theory because the computed and the experimental results almost coincide with.

  • This paper proposed a regeneration inverter system, which can regenerate the excessive power form dc bus line to ac source for traction system. The proposed regeneration inverter system for dc traction can reduce harmonics which are include to ac current source. The regenerative inverter is operated as two modes. As a regeneration inverter mode, it can recycle regenerative energy caused by decelerating tractions and as an active power filter mode, it can compensate for harmonic distortion produced by the rectifier substation. In the paper, a regeneration inverter used PWM DC/AC converter algorithm. And an active power filter used p-q theory. The simulation was composed as a prototype model[3kW]. Simulation results show that two algorithm can be used to real model[100kW]. Finally, the inverter was successfully operated as regeneration mode.

  • In a winding process, important control specifications include regulation of web tension and velocity. In this research, an adaptive controller has been developed for controlling web tension and velocity in winding processes. For the controller design, the linear quadratic regulator theory has been adopted and a gain-scheduling scheme has been incorporated. A prototype winding system has been constructed, and the controller has been implemented in a real-time PC-based environment. The performance of the closed loop system has been evaluated via simulation and experiments, and it was observed that both the web tension and velocity could be regulated within a small tolerance.

  • Integrating database views is an important step in the conceptual database design process. This paper develops a view integration support system by using a semantic object model. In order to determine the order of the integration, affinities among views and objects are analyzed by employing the vector space theory. Semantic conflicts such as naming and structural conflicts are then resolved. The resolution results are stored in a view repository. Objects and views are integrated and stored in this view repository until all views are considered. A prototype for the system is built and can be used in a client/server environment.

  • This paper presents a new control method of single-phase active power filter (APF) for the compensation of harmonic current components in nonlinear loads. To facilitate the possibility of complex calculation for harmonic current detection of the single phase, a single-phase system that has two phases was constructed by including an imaginary second-phase giving time delay to the load current. The imaginary phase, which lagged the load current T/4 (Here T is the fundamental cycle) is used in the conventional method. But in this proposed method, the new signal as the second phase is delayed by the filter. Because this control method is applied to a single-phase system, an instantaneous calculation was developed by using the rotating reference frames synchronized to source-frequency rather than by applying instantaneous reactive power theory that uses the conventional fixed reference frames. The control scheme of single-phase APF for the current source with R-L loads is applied to a laboratory prototype to verify the proposed control method.

  • Ultra Lift Luo Converter (ULC) gained considerable research interest in recent years. The stability analysis of voltage mode and peak current mode controlled ULC in continuous conduction mode is analyzed in this paper. The Eigen value theory is used for the stability analysis of voltage mode controlled ULC. Then to characterize the dynamics of inner current loop, the expressions of closed loop transfer function and loop gain are determined. An algorithm has been developed to analyze the stability of the peak current mode controlled ULC. The theoretical results are correlated with the simulation results obtained using PSIM 9.1(SMARTCTRL 1.0) software. Finally it is proposed to fabricate a prototype and validate the performance by suitable experimental setup.

  • A series of soil bin experiment was carried out on sand to investigate if true model theory is applicable to blade-soil system and finally to find mathematical relationship between the dimensionless terms which contain the blade-soil parameters. The following conclusions were derived from the study. 1. It was proved that the draft of the prototype blade can be predicted without distortion by those of model blades with the length scale of 1.2, 2 and 2.4. 2. For the sand, bulk density was found to be a good measure of soil physical properties which are pertinent to predict the draft of the blade-soil system. 3. The mathematical relationship between $D/{\gamma}W$ and d/W, ${\beta}$, and $V^2/Wg$ are as follows ; $$\frac{D}{{\gamma}W^3}=124.98[\frac{d}{W}]^2+7.16[\frac{d}{W}]+0.43 \\ \frac{D}{{\gamma}W^3}=-0.00099{\beta}^2+0.13{\beta}-2.01 \\ \frac{D}{{\gamma}W^3}=0.041[\frac{V^2}{Wg}]^2+0.08[\frac{V^2}{Wg}]+1.3$$
