Performance Comparison of Optical CT and legacy CT in aspect of Protective relaying (보호계전 측면에서의 광 CT와 기존 CT간의 성능 비교)

  • 전력계통에서 전류를 측정하는 변류기는 주요 전력 설비와 연계되어 보호 및 감시에 있어 중요한 역할을 수행한다. 그러나 기존방식의 전류 변성기는 자기포화에 의한 파형 왜곡과 써지나 잡음 등의 전기적 장치가 갖는 구조적 문제점을 가지고 있다. 이러한 문제점을 개선하기 위한 방법으로 전류에 의해 형성된 자계에 의해 광신호의 편광(polarization) 회전을 발생시키는 Faraday 효과를 가지는 광센서를 이용하여 보호계전 분야에 적용 가능한 전류계측기술을 개발하였다. 본 논문에서는 기존 전류변성기의 계통 보호에서 발생하는 문제점을 PSCAD/EMTDC 시스템을 이용하여 시뮬레이션 하였으며, 아울러 동일 조건에서 광 CT의 동작 특성을 산출하여 기존 전류변성기와 비교 분석하였다. 분석 결과들로부터 광 CT는 기존 전류변성기가 자기포화되는 상황에서도 정확한 1차 전류의 측정이 가능함을 보였다.

Emerging Trends in 3D Technology Adopted in Apparel Design Research and Product Development (의류학 연구 및 패션산업 현장에 도입되고 있는 3D 기술동향 및 적용사례 고찰)

  • This study reviewed emerging trends in 3D technology adopted in apparel design research and product development for rapid prototyping and effective evaluation of product performance. Based on a literature review, the authors discussed technical advantages, practical merits and limitations, applications, and on-going developmental efforts of the following methodologies focusing on 3D body scanning and 3D motion capture, and 3D virtual fit simulation technologies. Such data-driven technical approaches observed in recent apparel design research and industry practice are expected to increasingly be adopted in the field to improve consumers' satisfaction with functionality, aesthetics, and comfort of a wide range of apparel products that include daily wear, sport apparel and protective clothing.

Improvement of the mechanical performance and dyeing ability of bamboo fiber by atmospheric pressure air plasma treatment

  • Atmospheric pressure air plasma was applied for treatment of different kinds of natural bamboo fiber to improve their mechanical properties and surface characteristics, which are suitable for adhesion and dyeing. The tensile strength and Young modulus of bamboo fiber were significantly improved; SEM and AFM study show that the surface of fiber became cleaner and rougher after plasma treatment. Plasma treatment caused the cracking, removing of the protective skin of alkali-untreated fiber and etching to form a cleaner and rougher surface. The dyeability of both groups of bamboo fiber which are used for composite and textile purposes is significantly enhanced after treatment.

  • This paper deals with the development of an expert system for the fault diagnosis in a power system. The expert system is designed to estimate the fault sections with explanation about the propagation of the faults through the identification of false operation of protective devices. The identification of black-out area is also considered to assist the restoration process. As for the inference scheme, backward chaining method is adopted and the search space is reduced for the better performance. The expert system was developed using PROLOG language. Its application to a sample power system showed satisfactory result.

  • Recently, several developments of real-time simulators have been reported. But they are very high cost. And then they are difficult to apply for relay testing in small business. This paper presents the structure and performance of a new pc based, low cost, tester to digital protection relays. Fault transients are generated either by simulating signals using EMTP or by recorded fault signals.

  • Yttrium(Y) coating was incorporated by ion-plating method either directly on the TiAl substrate or after pack aluminizing on TiAl to improve the oxidation resistance of TiAl alloy. After Y-coating, heat treatment at low oxygen partial pressure was carried out. Performance of various coating was evaluated by isothermal and cyclic oxidation tests. A simple Y-coating without pack aluminizing can give a detrimental effect on the. oxidation resistance of TiAl alloy, because it enhances formation of $TiO_2$. On the other hand, a composite coating of aluminide-yttrium has shown excellent oxidation resistance. A continuous protective $Al_2O_3$ scale is formed on the aluminized TiAl, and Y-coating improves $Al_2O_3$ scale adherence and substantially prevents depletion of Al in the aluminide-coating layer.

  • 마감 도장이 완료된 면이 장기간 노출된 상태에서 후속 작업으로 인해 금속 분진 등의 오염물이 쌓이면 수분 및 염분 등과의 반응으로 도장 표면에 녹 등의 2차 오염이 발생하여 광택이나 표면 미려함 등을 잃어버리게 된다. 이럴 경우 소요되는 시간과 경비를 줄이기 위해 재도장 작업 대신 도장 표면의 오염 막을 제거하기 위한 방법으로 rust remover가 사용되고 있으나, 현재 rust remover 사용에 따른 도막 열화에 관한 객관적인 자료가 없는 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 당에서 사용되고 있는 선박용 마감 도료를 대상으로 rust remover가 도막 표면 열화에 미치는 영향에 대하여 조사 검토하다.

  • As it has been reported that more than 60% of transmission line faults occurs due to lightning strokes, lighting is one of concerned issues in electric power utility company. Most of transmission line is double circuit in Korea. Double circuit outages account for 33.7 percent of total lightning faults from 1996 to 2004. Even though transmission fault might be cleared shortly by protective system, it could deteriorate the power quality accompanied with sag or flicker. Moreover, double circuit fault may lead to more aggravated situation, for instance, blackout. To Protect transmission lines from lightning stroke, reduction of tower footing resistance, multiple ground wires and unbalanced insulation in double circuit lines have been adopted. In this paper, we would like to introduce insulation design standards for lightning protection of Korea Electric Power Corporation.

A Novel Under-film Corrosion Tester Using Current Interrupter Technique

  • Recently a variety of electrochemical techniques have been used for the measurement of under-film corrosion of coated steel. Each method has its own characteristic and is suitable to determine some kinds of anti-corrosive mechanisms of coating film. We developed a new under-film corrosion tester (UFCT) which adoped current interrupter technique in principle. Electrochemical parameters can be measured by UFCT. It is possible for the novel under-film corrosion tester to evaluate under-film corrosion of steel covered with high electric resistance coating film which has no defect and is not easy to evaluate it by other methods. Finally some experimental results of protective coating performance obtained by UFCT were discussed.

High-temperature Oxidation of the TiAlCrSiN Film (TiAlCrSiN 박막의 고온 산화 부식)

  • TiCrAlSiN films were developed in order to improve the high-temperature oxidation resistance, corrosion resistance, and mechanical properties of conventional TiN films that are widely used as hard films to protect and increase the lifetime and performance of cutting tools or die molds. In this study, a nano-multilayered TiAlCrSiN film was deposited by cathodic arc plasma deposition. It displayed relatively good oxidation resistance at $700-900^{\circ}C$, owing to the formation protective oxides of $Al_2O_3$, $Cr_2O_3$, and $SiO_2$, and semiprotective $TiO_2$. At $1000^{\circ}C$, the increased temperature led to the formation of the imperfect oxide scale that consisted primarily of the outer ($TiO_2$,$Al_2O_3$)-mixed scale and inner ($TiO_2$, $Al_2O_3$, $Cr_2O_3$)-mixed scale.
