  • In this paper, development and performance characteristic of propulsion system(Converter/Inverter) using IPM(Intelligent Power Module) for 120km/h AC electric vehicle is proposed. The proposed propulsion system is comprised of IPM converter and inverter stack which uses natural air-cooling system, DC-Link, OVCRf unit and control unit. And also 2-Parallel operation of two PWM converter is adopted for increasing capacity of system and the VVVF inverter control is used a mixed control algorithm, where the vector control strategy at low speed region and slip-frequency control strategy at high speed region. The proposed propulsion system is verified by main line test results as well as combined test results.

  • Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor(PM motor) of Advanced EMU is the direct drive morot(DDM) without using reduction gear and Interior buried Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor(IPMSM). Propulsion system for IPMSM control is composed 1C1M. 1C1M is good for each motor control and anti slip/slide. Propulsion control system have completed running test on field and reliability test is in progress.

  • This paper estimates the life cycle cost(LCC) of a propulsion control system using the maintenance information in the high speed train(KTX-1). Life cycle costing is one of the most effective approaches for the cost analysis of long-life systems such as the KTX-1. Until now, most life cycle cost of the system has been studied as a whole system viewpoint. But in case of railway industry, LCC studies are needed on the subsystem like a propulsion control system because subsystems are developed continuously localization. This paper proposes the life cycle cost model which fitted to estimate life cycle cost (LCC) using maintenance information manual. As a result, LCC on propulsion control system increased moderately expect for periodical time when major parts are replaced at the same time. Results will be reflected in the development of domestic products.

  • 국내 함정 추진체계는 기계식 추진체계에서 복합식 추진체계로 넘어가는 단계에 위치하고 있으며, 추진체계가 복잡해지면서 함정 추진체계의 제어 감시 기능을 하는 ECS의 기능이 중요해질 것으로 예상된다. 최근 국내에서 ECS(Engineering Control System) 개발의 국산화가 진행되면서 ECS 개발 과정에서 신뢰성 및 안정성에 대한 검증이 요구되고 있다. 제안하는 시뮬레이터는 HILS로 구성되었으며, 모의 목적에 따라 동력전달을 모의하는 축물리모델과, 장비제어를 모의하는 제어기모델, ECS와 통신하는 통신모델로 나누어진다. 본 논문에서는 복합식 추진체계인 CODLOG 체계에 대하여 ECS 검증용 시뮬레이터를 개발하고 시나리오를 설정하여 시뮬레이션을 수행하였다

  • This paper introduces the ship propulsion system in different aspects. In fact there are many types to accomplish electric propulsion. The latest installations are based on fixed generator speed and motor speed control. The AC motor drive systems with synchroconverter cycloconverter PWM converter are chosen for the ship electric propulsion. The configurations of the ship electric propulsion. The configurationso of the ship electric propulsion system must be considered about following criteria : torque and speed performances redundancy cost harmonics available space and shape. This paper introduces possible configurations of the ship electric propulsion and the major and minor points.

  • The regulator that was designed for space use must be operating on the severe circumstance. For example, operating temperature is below 90K and operating pressure is 20.7 MPa.   • Satellite propulsion system is employed for orbit transfer, orbit correction, and attitude control. The monopropellant feeding system in the low-earth-orbit satellite blowdowns fuel to the thrust chamber. The thrust produced by the thruster depends on fuel amount flowed into the combustion chamber. If the thruster valve be given on-off signal from on-board commander in the satellite, valve will be opened or closed. When the thrusters fire fuel flows through opened thruster valve. Instantaneous stoppage of flow in according to valve actuation produces transient pressure due to pressure wave. This paper describes transient pressure predictions of the KOMPSAT2 propulsion system resulting from latching valve and thrust control valve operations. The time-dependent set of the fluid mass and momentum equations are calculated by Method of Characteristics (MOC).

  • This paper designed the railway vehicle running device with a proto-type for the railway vehicle maintenance training and developed a propulsion control device simulator equipped the imitation steering wheel. In addition, this paper applied a multi-thread technology in order to implement the staged fault and the propulsion control device protected operation test and an implementation of the failure that occur in actual rail vehicle and confirm the validity as the propulsion control device simulator for the maintenance training.

  • An air levitation type wafer transfer system is composed of control and transfer track. Wafer transfer speed is mainly affected by air velocity of propulsion nozzle. In this study, the propulsion force coefficient was evaluated experimentally for the nozzle with 0.5mm, 0.8mm, and 1.0mm diameter. As a result, the propulsion force was largest in the smallest size of nozzle at same air velocity. The propulsion force coefficient of nozzle increases with reducing diameter of nozzle. This increment of propulsion force coefficient was enlarged remarkably at the 0.5mm diameter of nozzle.

  • 가압방식 로켓추진기관시스템의 작동점 변화 추적을 위하여 각 추진제 탱크의 압력, 수위 및 비행 가속도로부터 각 추진제질유량, 연소실압력을 계산할 수 있는 직접상사모델을 만들었다. KSR-III의 비행시험결과 예로 분석하였으며, 이 계산모델을 통하여 가압방식 로켓추진시스템의 작동점 변화의 경향성을 파악할 수 있음을 보였다.
