Every construction project expects a success. In order to attain success for every project involved, issues that are related to the success of a construction project must be identified. This paper identifies those key factors, which contribute to the success of construction projects. The main factors crucial to project success were identified from a literature review and through a questionnaire survey administered to local contractors. A follow-up interview was conducted to validate the first survey and to evaluate the perception of the local contractors. An Analytical Hierarchy Model was used to obtain the final Critical Success Factors. The identification of the critical factors related to the success of construction projects will contribute to the achievement of a particular objective which will accomplish the success of the project. Aspects that affect the success of the project are the project characteristic, contractual arrangement, parties involved in a construction project and finally, and the aspect of the project interactive processes.

While the idea of the existence of a set of key factors for success in planning, designing and construction of projects is not new, it remains one of the most important issues in the field of construction management. This is due to project success factors are inputs to project management practice which can lead directly or indirectly to project success. This study identifies the success factors which can be used for improving the highway projects performance in Egypt during the project pre-construction and construction phases. Through a detailed literature review 35 success factors are identified. Furthermore, the AHP is adopted to prioritize the studied factors through the application of questionnaire survey. The study establishes that implementing an effective quality control and assurance systems, allow sufficient time for feasibility studies, design, drawing and tender preparation, effective cost control system and frequency of project budget updates, preparing adequate designs and drawings and determining sufficient time to implement the desired scope of work are the most important success factors for enhancing the highway projects performance in Egypt.

India has accorded a high priority to road infrastructure development through Public-Private Partnership (PPP) and it has set a high target for investment inflows. Yet, it is widely held that road/highway infrastructure has not been developing at required pace and that the road infrastructure projects under PPP have been suffering from several hurdles and delays, thereby affecting project success/failure. This paper is an attempt to analyze the critical success/failure factors of road infrastructure projects under PPP in India. A questionnaire survey was conducted among a sample of the stakeholders of road infrastructure projects to identify the critical success/failure factors during all four major project stages using different approaches. Initially, the critical factors were identified through ranking based on the average/mean score. Later, the conventional RII score was used to identify the critical success/failure factors. Finally, the critical success/failure factors were also identified based on the stakeholder-wise ranking of the factors and their convergence. The assessment revealed that there was a greater convergence across the different methods and also that there was greater consensus among project stakeholder on the critical success/failure factors of road PPP projects.

Objective of Urban regeneration project is a recovery of urban utilities through a physical, environmental, cultural, industrial and economic regeneration. The current paradigm of urban regeneration is not a simple redevelopment as physical redevelopment or improvement. Urban regeneration project is an overall development including a central commercial capacity and business capacity for administration and management, cultural facilities, sightseeing, a residential area. So Urban regeneration project include a various project. Project management of Urban Regeneration project is widely different with general project management. For that purpose, this research would offer to contribute the success factors of urban regeneration project for successful project. For offering these, this research analyzed the properties of urban regeneration project and success factors of construction project by reviewing a literature. The principal characteristics are variety objectives of each district of urban regeneration project, a diversity of stakeholder's objectives and complex structure of stakeholders, an unstructured decision-making system, a lack of plan for business cooperation. We abstracted factors for urban regeneration from brainstorming and verification by experienced experts. We suggest 2 factors related to achieving a goal effectively and 10 factors related to progress of urban regeneration project efficiently.

최근 PF사업은 급격한 성장 속에서 개발환경의 변화가 다양하게 나타나고 있다. 이러한 건설시장의 성장과 개발환경 변화에 따라 PF사업 관련기업들은 성공할 수 있는 사업을 찾기 위해 많은 노력을 하고 있으며 PF사업 초기단계부터 성공여부의 판단근거를 마련하기 위해 다양한 연구를 수행하고 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 PF사업을 구상하고 개발하는 일련의 과정에 있어서 PF사업의 성공요인을 찾아보고, 전문가조사를 통해 주요성공요인을 찾았다. 또한, PF사업 종사자들에게 실증조사를 실시하여 성공요인을 도출하고 도출된 요인들의 상대적 중요도를 파악하기 위해 계층적 분석방법인 AHP를 실시하여 정성적인 부분을 정량적 접근이 가능하도록 이론적 근거를 마련하고자 한다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 PF사업 성공요인을 도출하고 계층적 분석방법인 AHP기법을 활용하여 PF사업 성공요인의 상대적 중요도를 제시하고자 한다. 정성적인 주관적 요소를 객관화하여 각 요인에서 나타나는 적용상의 한계를 해결함으로서 성공적인 PF사업을 수행하려는 기업이나 관련종사자에게 객관적이고 공정하게 적용해볼 수 있는 방안을 제안하고자 한다.

Empirical studies on the implementation of data warehousing systems(DWS) are few while there exist a number of researches on the implementation of IS. This article intends to examine the factors affecting the implementation success. of DWS. It adopts the empirical analysis of a sample of 112 responses from DWS practitioners. The study results suggest several implications for researchers and practitioners. When the support from top management becomes great, the implementation success of DWS in organizational aspects is more likely. The support of resources increases the implementation success of DWS in project aspects, while it is not significantly related to the implementation success of DWS in organizational aspects. The user involvement in systems implementation, however, affects the implementation success of DWS in organizational and project aspects. Prototyping for the DWS implementation positively affects the implementation success of DWS. This indicates that the extent of understanding the requirements and the communication among project members increases also the implementation success of DWS. The extent of consulting activities in DWS projects increases the implementation success of DWS in project aspects. The continuous support of consulting activities and technology transfers enhances the adherence to the project schedule, preventing the exceeding of the project budget and ensuring the implementation of the intended system functions.

The purpose of this thesis is to analyze the success factors of ERP system in corporations and to know what is different in the factors depending on organizational culture and size. Considering there are various results from introduction of the same information technology(IT), it is implied that organizational characteristics make a difference. In this thesis we did factor analysis and multiple regression about the factors based on the previous studies and analyzed the priorities depending on organizational culture and size. The results show that mechanistic organization has key success factors of work process change, project team abilities, and determination of CEO while organic organization has those of work process change and project team abilities. Plus bigger sized organization has success factors of work process change, project team abilities, and determination of CEO while small sized organization has those of work process change and project team abilities.

Since 1990's, many enterprises have implemented ERP System. Especially, they want to become an advanced company use ERP implementation. Already, ERP system come to high level which is stabilized and support independent business process of many industry sectors. Although most companies had previous good plans, but those are not satisfied. Because of failed to change management and had many problem about Project team operation. Therefore, important success factors for ERP project are change management and organization activation for Project team. The purpose of this study is suggest to improve method about team activation through analysis the Project team member's individual personality as a factor that makes the success of Project team. This paper studied success factors of project team and plan for organization activation. The results of this study can be used for a successful implementation of the ERP system as make of Project team consider of individual personality and administer a Project team.

6 sigma is a management innovation strategy which improves most of all managerial processes including transactional and project based operations such as marketing, purchasing, accounting, and construction. Even though 6 sigma is trying to solve problems from the customer's viewpoint in the scientific manner, project leader feels some difficulties in implementation because of several reasons. Especially the difficulties are prevalent in construction site. This paper investigates the cause of the difficulties through questionnaires, analyzes the investigation results, and verifies the critical success factors of 6 sigma implementation. Factor analysis has been usually employed in reducing quantity of data and summarizing information chaos. In this study, several variables from questionnaires are grouped into just only four factors by the process of factor analysis. The critical success factors are extracted as project management system, implementation mechanism, site condition, and project ownership. Some ideas for each individual success factor are suggested, which are expected to be useful in successful implementation of 6 Sigma in construction site.

Incentive/Disincentive (I/D) contracting experiences in many states have been evaluated in terms of time and cost performance and substantial project time savings were found in many project cases. However, there is little understanding on individual project success factors for I/D projects during construction. This paper explores the significance of I/D clause in the success of the MacArthur Maze reconstruction project and summarizes a list of group causes that explains and elaborates on the detailed factors. The methods used for carrying out this study started with a search of online media and news reports and contract documents were also obtained from Caltrans. After review of the preliminary information, Interviews were performed with the Caltrans Resident Engineer and the contractor's project manager who were in charge of the MacArthur Maze reconstruction. In conclusion, the evaluation of their responses hinted at six significant cause groups responsible for the project's success. These groups can be listed as: 1) Motivation, 2) Policy, 3) Teamwork, 4) Communication, 5) Expectation, and 6) Resource Management.
